I was worried about the days and times we could have the lessons done but they were able to have both lessons happen on the same day. I had sent emails and left voice messages to a couple of schools to set up lessons but I have to say they were the only ones to call me back and not just email me. I liked that:) So far so good on my experience, I would recommend.

Read the reviews here and decided to try them, we and our child ended up very disappointed…read more They act as an agency to contract local teachers and just want monthly subscriptions regardless of the actual lessons. No flexibility provided - their policy says rescheduling is no guarantee and at discretion. We didn't get any. Didn't give us much information about the teacher they contracted to at the beginning either. Their price point was high compared with local levels, it seems that their fee needs to be taken out before paying the teacher. My questions and later complaints were ignored, and upon repeated requests to cancel my subscription, they still charged me to the point of their response, not when I asked for it. I have since taken my recommendation of them to other families back. Use your local teachers instead!

At that time, I had been playing guitar for over 40 years and my playing was stuck in a rut. Since we met, Nick has unlocked my limited knowledge of music theory (triads, chord progressions, scale patterns, location of notes up, down, and across the fretboard, etc.) and also has taught me some left hand/right hand tips to improve/correct my technique. I wish I had crossed paths with Nick sooner - he is a great teacher that challenges me at the right level, has improved my confidence, and makes music fun.

Still the best music classes in the Houston area for babies & young kids. If you're reading this…read moreand considering it, I'm telling you now: go ahead and try a class! You won't regret it! The classes are geared toward your babies and kids- backed by research, to maximize enjoyment, fun, and learning. Sadly they shut down the Sugar Land location, but there are still classes at different sites in Houston and the Woodlands. The teachers are wonderful! My girls have taken more than 2 years' worth of classes with Kapila, so she is our favorite! We've also loved our classes with Jonathan and Ana, the owners. Why do babies and little kids need music exposure? Here is an excerpt from a parent education class taught by Ana: 84% of our population is born with medium to high music aptitude! So why is it that most grownups have trouble singing in tune and moving with accurate rhythm? It has do with exposure and experimentation during the most formative years of a child's life. Children cannot learn what they are not exposed to. Music aptitude is at its highest at BIRTH! So, we must support a child's inborn natural potential for music learning. The best way a parent can support tonal development is by singing with and to their child! Likewise, the best way parents can support rhythm development is by dancing and following the movements we do in class.

We've also been enjoying their online music classes (including some Zoom classes, which are a delight) since the pandemic began. Our daughter has been attending Prelude music classes since she was about 8 months old. She's now 3.5. Such an excellent program for families, babies, children. Getting your babies/young children immersed in music-making has so many important and beneficial effects on their development. We've attended music classes through other companies in Houston, but Prelude is the best of them. Our daughter loves teachers Kapila, Ana, and Jonathan. It's not cheap, but they do have scholarships for people who want to attend but need some financial assistance.

However, there was very little opportunity to voice my own thoughts and there was much more over-explaining than actual practicing. Also, my musical interests were never considered and that plays a huge part in how one learns to vocalize. It really just felt like I was paying for a couple of strictly corrected warm-ups every lesson and that really took the fun out of singing.
