With the look and feel of a national chain operation, Joy Wok excels over the typical Asian buffets. It's very clean and bright, food trays are well stocked with fresh items, and furnishings are up-to-date. With a variety of American foods (cheeseburgers, pizza, roast beef, lettuce salads, etc.) it provides enough items to satisfy those who don't want Asian.

I liked the good variety of tasty foods, the polite, attentive service and the reasonable price during my off-peak visit. My early weekday lunch buffet ($12.99) included a fruit bar, a salad bar, a hibachi grill, pho, a seafood bar with sushi, sashimi, kimchi and shrimp, a fair selection of Chinese favorites, a roast beef carvery, fried foods (including fried chicken) and desserts. The foods were at appropriate temperatures, but the labeling was spotty. I noticed two dining areas and seating around the buffet area. They also offered a bar, but they had not yet received their liquor license. Very nice!

*New Location Alert* Today we finally decided to come try out the new Joy Wok location! When we first got here I immediately noticed it was very spacious, very clean but relatively packed. It took us about 10-15 minutes to be seated just based on the fact that it was only one person available for seating us. After being seated we had to wait an additional 20 minutes just to get water at the table. The servers were scarce so it was alot going on. All in all, the food was good & the space was clean, so I would come back.

Crab doesn't have much flavor but all the other options are very tasty. Place is clean, great service from staff.

The food is flavorful, the service is ok for buffet style , I believe they tend to drop checks prematurely. I will return .

On the other side, the buffet area was extremely clean and the hibachi, and sushi stations were well kept.

Then we sat down at the teppanyaki table, and things went south faster than a dropped egg. Our server was solid, but the "chef" was a total trainwreck. It felt like we were an inconvenience to his schedule. He just rushed through the motions with zero engagement, like he was checking off a grocery list instead of actually cooking for people. The "Highlights" (and I use that term loosely): The Timing: I ordered the steak and scallops. He finished my steak before the rice even hit the grill. My cow just sat there getting cold while we watched him "work." The Culinary Wisdom: When one of us asked if the beef was a strip or a ribeye, he literally just said, "It's steak." Cool. Glad we cleared that up. The Cross-Contamination Special: We had a vegetarian in the group. He proceeded to cook her tofu directly in the steak juice. Truly a "chef's kiss" moment if you hate your customers. The Doneness (or lack thereof): The salmon was basically still swimming (raw), and the scallops were charred and tasted like fire and brimstone. The Mussels: I grabbed a side of green mussels. They were... fine? I've had much better elsewhere in town, but they were the Olympic gold medalists of my meal by default. The Silver Lining? The Sake. It came in a take-home glass, was incredibly easy to drink, and was 100% necessary to get through the rest of the experience. I can't speak for the sushi, but if it's handled with the same "I don't want to be here" energy as the teppanyaki, I'd stay far, far away. Two stars only because the hostess was nice and the Sake did its job.

The variety is impressive, ranging from traditional Chinese dishes and soups to sushi and hibachi. By far the best value is the choose-your-own hibachi-style buffet. You select your veggies, noodles, meats, and more, then choose the seasonings and sauces to go with it. At the hibachi window, they cook your selections right in front of you. Everything comes out fresh, flavorful, and made exactly the way you like it--very tasty! Very little customer service interaction compare to the previous ownership. But the biggest thing here is the food is never refill at a timely manner. There are more empty food tray than there is food for customer. And when they do refill it up, it's very little portion. And they are selective with what they are refilling instead of refill all the empty tray. They are making us paid full dinner price but no food for us to enjoy. I hope management see this and resolve this because this place has so much potential.

The soup and salad are on point and honestly, I could just DRINK the ginger dressing. I'm also pretty obsessed with the ginger sauce. The steak- what I always order- is cooked perfectly, so tender and juicy and goodness gracious I'm making myself hungry. Hibachi is always a fun experience, particularly with a crowd, but I've also been and just sat at the sushi bar and gotten the hibachi food. It's so lovely. I can't imagine a better place for hibachi- friendly staff, delicious food, calm atmosphere..... did I mention the food?

Some places now days are not using red tuna for these rolls and subbing it out for cheaper tuna. Bleh. Partner enjoyed the fried rice. Kind of hard to mess up. The both we sat was tucked away in an elevated area, and I did enjoy the privacy, until another table joined us in that area and it got very loud. I won't say it was the worst thing, but for the restaurant being empty... Server was fine, but overall experience was not special/super. Also, it seemed like the chefs were not willing to accommodate to allergies, but they came around when I told them we needed a separate plate for any shellfish.

It bums be out too because at one point I felt the fried rice was one of my favorites, now it is just dry and bland. The teriyaki chicken was good, no complaints there, but I would like to be able to have a bite with just fried rice and not feel like it still needs something. Service was good. Maybe a little pushy on the water refills. It's like they saw us taking pictures and were giving us reviewer treatment. I'm not saying that is the case, but I felt it was forced and awkward regardless. Regarding the insides, there is a small and quiet sushi side, and the loud hibachi inside. It has the kitschy but endearing japanese asian aesthetic and is usually clean and well kept. Salad was sweet and good. Soup was served to us warm, not hot. The salad was yummy, but I didn't care for the soup--it was lukewarm rather than hot. The fried rice and teriyaki chicken were a little dry, but the shrimp was really good. Our cook was more focused on just cooking rather than performing, which was a little disappointing since the hibachi show is part of the fun experience. The service was very attentive--my water was never empty, which I loved as someone who drinks a lot of water at restaurants. However, it was almost too attentive, as the server would refill it before it even got halfway down and would come over very abruptly. I still had a good time, but I'm not sure I'd rush back. The prices are pretty high for the quality of food, and I'm sure there are better hibachi options out there.
