My husband said no I'm good and she continues to touch him, he said no again and she realize he was serious. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. I was not asked what type of massage I wanted or what pressure I was comfortable with. For the entire hour, the therapist continuously used her elbows with extremely deep pressure. I told her more than three times that she was hurting me and that the pressure was too hard, but unfortunately, it continued. I even ended up with a bruise on my back afterward. This was three weeks ago, and I am still experiencing a lot of neck and back pain from the experience. I have had deep-tissue massages at other places before, so I understand what a deep-tissue massage can feel like, but this was far beyond anything I have experienced before. I honestly wasn't going to leave a review because the staff was very nice and I don't believe anyone intended to cause harm. However, I do feel this is important feedback. I strongly recommend having clients complete a form or being asked beforehand what type of massage they are looking for, what areas they want worked on, and what level of pressure they are comfortable with. Most importantly, when a client says multiple times that the pressure is too painful, it should be taken seriously and adjusted immediately. I hope this feedback is helpful because I would hate for someone else to have a similar experience.
