We met at the design center which was loaded with beautiful options! He helped us pick out all the tiles and decking that complimented each other perfectly. Diane the main office contact was always fast to respond to any questions we had throughout the construction process! I thought I did enough research when we decided to hire Joy Pools to do our spa and pool. Unfortunately I trusted the wrong ng company! Detail is not their expertise and for the amount of money you pay it should be! The messed up our sprinkler system and promised to pay for I get it fixed they have not followed through. Stone was cut dry and not with a wet saw leaving A LOT of jagged edges, pebble tech was put down splotchy I was told to give it time for the chemicals to sit and it would fade... Almost a year later and there are major streaks. I was told it would be fixed and now they are ignoring me. BEWARE- unless you want a pool built without anyone watching over the project to make sure things are being done correctly and are ok with horrible product. The WORST experience of building anything in my life. I thought at the cost of $150K + you would have something that would hold up and look great!! Here are a couple of things that happened on our build. -They talked us out of the Leuders we originally wanted because of them not coming in uniform color. HOWEVER, the leuders they used on our pool looked like they had 20 different jobs and picked up all the left over leuders and brought them to our pool so they are all different. (see pictures below). They are now starting to erode away (we have chlorine pool not salt) -They forgot to put in a water fill line. They tried to tell me some people would rather put their hose in the pool than use a fill line (takes 5 min with fill line and the hose is longer than that) so they wouldn't have to come and fix the mistake. -They forgot to put in the vacuum pump. There is a hole in the pool for the vacuum, but they didn't know if the line was really put in or not. They would have had to dig to find the line. Instead of finding out if we really had one so they could install the pump that sat on our back porch the entire build they gave us pool vacuum robot. The Robot cleaner broke the end of the 1st summer and tried to find out if it was under warranty. I emailed them to get information and they said they would find the information. I couldn't get any information from them and I had to deal with robot company on my own to figure things out. -They installed the wrong spill/fountains. - I am thinking some of the rock they used is not actually made for outdoors. We have certain pieces of rock that just crumble and are almost crumbled down to the grout. (see pictures) After the 1st summer the stone Leuder they used for the spillway way started cracking and deteriorating and the crumbling pieces were falling into the pool. The water then instead of being a pretty waterfall spill way just ran under cracks onto the rock and now wearing the rock away. I emailed to see if they could fix it and this is the response I received "They said it is the veneer on the spillway and that how that material is". So they talked me into the material in the first place to have it start crumbling by the end of the 1st year. I am now starting year 2 and the leuders that are now crumbling. (see Pictures) I wish I would have known how horrible this company was to not only work with, but the horrible product they used. I would think it should last past year 1 and now the start of the 2nd it is looking way worse. The customer service on top of that the worst I have ever worked with as well. If you decide to build with them make sure you discuss payment and that they do not get their payment until EVERYTHING is completely finished. They want all their money before it is even finished and there is no way to get them to fix their mistakes when they have all the money in advance. Last payment should be done when the final walkthrough is done. I hope nobody else has to pay the price we paid for the horrible product we received. I was only telling my neighbors and neighborhood about the issues, but now I feel like more people need to know so they can go elsewhere. If you are already in the process building with them. Stay on top of everything they are doing and make sure you speak up. Worst company EVER!! read more

Joy Pools installed my first pool over 30 years ago. I was so happy with their work, that they were the first company I called to install a pool at my new house. I initially contacted them multiple times over several weeks before I got a call back. The salesman eventually made an appointment in June/July of 2023. I explained exactly what I wanted including features, size and shape. It took over a month for the initial concept, which was nothing like what I had initially requested. It was considerably larger, the wrong shape and came with every bell and whistle that I specifically asked not to be included. I responded with images of the shape I wanted, and I reiterated the size and features I wanted. From there it took multiple emails requesting a quote. When I did get the quote 4 months later, it was for the initial concept. I again requested a quote for the pool I had initially described. I have sent multiple emails to the salesman since then with absolutely no response. I am only left to assume that Joy Pools only wants my business if I am putting in a $112,000+ pool. Do NOT use Joy Pools as your pool company. We moved to TX and used the existing company the previous owner used. Joy Pools over promises and under delivers! I can't get a call back and my pool was green, multiple times. The service tech did the bare minimum and I never got a straight answer about any difficulties my pool was having. This has been one of the most painful, drawn out customer service issues I have ever experienced. We decided on Joy to build our pool back in 2019. Let's start from the beginning shall we? 2020: -Considering we started building during COVID, everything started off fine. Side note: I was newly pregnant during construction. -I noticed one day the pool tile went up and I didn't remember picking it out. I thought maybe I forgot until I went back and looked at the tile I picked out and took pictures of. So the tile I picked out is not what was put up and nobody thought to inform us of the switcharoo. This turned out to be the least of our problems... -As the pool completed (on time), I started to notice TONS of quality issues, mainly cosmetic but when you spend almost 6 figures on something you expect a certain level of quality in return. Issues such as: mismatched drain covers, sloppy job of concrete repair (splatters all over our brick), ugly white PVC pipe inserted for our drains, huge gap (read: tripping hazard) between driveway and pool area, another drain placed without a cover directly onto pool deck - had to tell them to move it which they did....right on top of a sprinkler - had to tell them move it again. Major incompetence. Other little things that weren't as important as well. -The beautiful stone I picked out to edge the pool and was also used on our steps (didn't know steps were being redone but it looked nice), is dangerously slippery. My daughter slipped and fell, I slipped and almost fell (and I promise if I had fallen and something happened to this baby......), my husband slipped and fell twice which resulted in massive bruises. After telling them how negligent it was to have such slippery options around the pool they said they would do something to make it less slippery. It is now 2022 and nothing has been done. 2021: After having the pool for less than a year we noticed major discoloring on several parts of the stone from the spa to pool. They would fix it and it would return. We then noticed that the entirety of the sides of the pool were turning black. They basically told us they didn't know what was going on and that was it. Side note: my little girl was born at the beginning of 2021. We only got to use our brand new pool for a year when black stuff started appearing in it. They told us it was 'probably' fine to still swim in. Um no. We are not swimming in a pool sign an unknown black substance with our family. Wtf. 2022: So we have not been able to use our pool, including the hot tub, the slippery of the tiles still not addresses and the lackluster customer service has yet to improve. Side note: the baby I was pregnant with when these issues started and were communicated is now walking. That's how long we've been struggling through things with this company. It's unbelievable. We totally regret using Joy Pools and I would advise anyone else to avoid them. read more

I just wanted to give Joy Pools some props. Joy Pools built our built our pool back in 2016 and not only did they do a GREAT job on the build, they have went above and beyond on an issue I had just after the 3 year warranty expired. I had a blower (SPA-Cleaner) start acting up about 3 months prior to the warranty expiration but at the time they came out to troubleshoot the issue, It was working fine, but 2 month after our 3 year warranty expired, the issue resurfaced, I called Joy Pools to come out to look at the problem fully expecting that I would be out of pocket for whatever the outcome was, they took care of the issue on their dime. This was truly unexpected and amazingly shocked they took care of the problem with no hesitation in telling me they took care of the issue. read more

Cindy said to check some things and solved the problem without having to pay for a service call. She said might as well save on a service call. We're in the process of our pool build. We had quotes and meetings with all the players in the business. Joy Pools was not the least expensive, but we were sold by Phil and I had a friend that had theirs completed by Joy Pools and had a wonderful experience. Started great. Phil had a great design and he was a straight shooter who educated us along the way. That's pretty much where things stopped. We were told 6 to 8 weeks from "permit to completion". We're in our 8th week and granted there has been rain delays, but these delays are far beyond that. Communications are their most lacking skillset. We know they have meetings each morning to discuss projects, yet we have to call and email to find out what the plans are...for the day and/or for the week. We are treated like we are bothering them. Spending nearly $90,000 on a pool, deserves a small amount of regular communications w/o us having to brow beat the information out of them. I'm sure they're busy - but shoot - hiring some temp Kelly services representatives to provide regular, unprovoked customer updates by email would do them well. It was obvious they were not used to Rockwall, TX code and had to have the inspector out here multiple times after work didn't pass muster. They cut the AT&T wire and didn't say a peep about it - needed the inspector to inform us. Luckily we didn't use AT&T so didn't notice right away. A few weeks later they cut the Spectrum wire. That we did notice. Workers denied they cut it. Spectrum came out while workers were here and confirmed it had been cut and needed to rerun that cable. At the end of the day, my husband and I are still confident we'll have a stellar looking pool...but we're unsure if we would recommend Joy Pools to others simply because of this experience. We have neighbors on either side of us that went with a different vendor, who quoted us ~13,000 less for the same design Joy Pools gave us..and they were done...on time and both are super elated with the end product.
