I don't like leaving bad reviews and this isn't "bad" but we have decided not to return here. I came on my birthday as a first time client with my hubby. We both got fantastic pedicures so we came back for a second visit. I made an appointment both times as I am very impatient and don't like waiting. My husband was started on right away but I sat a while. I thought the lady doing his feet was going to do mine but a young man came up and said he was there to "get me started" he took off my polish then another customer came in and he told me he had to take her because she had an appointment??? I had one too! I had TWO appointments my husbands pedi was completed and I'm still sitting there now just soaking in water. I was told my tech had to get medicine and would be there in 5 mins after 15 min Joy took over and did my toes. She knicked my toe and that is always a fear for me when in a nail salon I am a pro cosmetologist and sterilizing is so important. Luckily it was minor. I really expected some sort of compensation for my inconvenience (I wasn't started on for over an hour after my appointment time). Even a small offer of 5% off next time etc but I only got multiple apologies and my pedi came to a whopping $48 because I got gel polish. Maybe if they wouldn't have charged me for the gel I would've been happy but again full price I paid plus a tip so we have decided to go elsewhere and I am sad about it because I carefully chose this place based on other reviews and they were friendly with decent pedicures so I am once again looking for an ideal nail salon and unfortunately because of my experience I could not recommend this nail salon read more

Suzy was lovely. I appreciate how she handled my 6 year old daughter and her mani pedi. With that being said, I paid $49 for a children's mani pedi. For reference they're adult price is $50. I think Jon charged me extra because I wasn't spending a lot on myself so he had to make the money somewhere. Jon did my nails. I will post the picture. It will speak for itself. After 4 days, my pedicure polish started chipping. The pedicure overall was not great. No massage of any sort, not even lotion. Zero effort was put in to the bottom feet scrubbing. Also, got an SNS manicure by Jonathon. I've had better experiences in the Smyrna area. He globbed on the powder; my nails look so chunky and thick. Also there are little specks of dark in the light pink color I selected. I don't feel like these will hold up more than 2 weeks. read more

This is the worst place I've ever been to before! This place was recommended by a friend. I was hesitant but since I was in the area I decided to try. It was so terrible! The tech filed the skin off my toe and caused for it to sting severely throughout the entire process. Then the overcharged me for the callus treat. Their idea of a callus treatment is pulling out the cheese grater! My feet are so rough right now! Worse than they were before entering this dump! My nails... omg! I just got a regular manicure with clear polish. Because judging the polish, I knew it was not going to last 1 day! And it didn't. The skin around my nails are so messed up right now from those untrained nail techs improperly performing a manicure. They have totally destroyed the skin around my nail bed! It stilling in the shower, while walking, using hand sanitizer. This was such a horrible experience. This place is a disgrace!! read more

Well...to start off I have been a loyal customer for 6 years and developed a relationship with this salon Mama doing my pedicure and the owner doing my manicures however today I guess the owner did not have a good day so he took his anger out on me in front of other customers. As I pulled up he was smoking a cigarette so I assumed he was not ready for my appointment so I waited outside until he finished. I was parked directly in front of the shop. As soon as he walked back in I came in sat down as he continued to do start my nails I noticed his demeanor off like he was not in the mood to work today. I told him I wanted fresh set he said he has no time for that and I need to book another appointment again this is in front of all the customers embarrassing. He also said I needed to give him $30 cash in order to book another appointment and he won't take my card. At this point I am extremely disappointed at this salon and the owners. I have spent thousands of dollars and always tip...but today they have lost another customer and I will let friends and family know that our money is no good at this place ...Zero stars for this place! I just had a horrible experience and felt the need to share in order to prevent someone else from going through the same thing. I have been going there for more than a year (Ms. Kim was great) but always with an appointment. Today, I went as a walk-in and was told by the owner to come back in 30 minutes. I said okay, no problem and left to wait in my car directly in front of the salon. Ten minutes later a gentleman goes in and is seated immediately. I assumed he had an appointment and thought no more about it. I go back in after 30 minutes only to be told by the owner, "I didn't know you would return so I sat this gentleman" and asks me if I can return at 5:00. Absolutely not--it is not my fault that you didn't write the appt. in the books. Then the gentleman, who probably saw me waiting in the car as he walked by, volunteered to wait. The owner then tries to put the onus on me saying this very nice man has agreed to wait and proceeds to go over, dap him up, and tell him thank you so much! Meanwhile, I'm painted as the inconvenience that others need to make sacrifices for. After being seated for another 10 minutes, in walks another gentleman who says, "I was told to come back," and he also is seated immediately. He was not told return at 5:00. Well that was enough for me. Apparently, I am not the targeted market--therefore, I will NEVER return here. read more

I am updating my review to up the rating. I see Tracy every two weeks and she does a fantastic SNS job. They are very friendly and are respectful of your time. I am not a talkative person and I appreciate that Tracy can respect silence. I make appointments because walk-ins are not a good idea as they stay very busy. It is a very small and intimate shop and they know all of their customer. It is not like the more larger nail shops where you feel like you are in a factory line. My SNS nails no longer crack or break in less than two weeks. The color stays bright and fresh. They have a lot of choices so I may go with a color in mind than I change my mind because another color catches my eye! They are clean so when you get a pedicure, your feet are not just placed in the bowl, a plastic covering is placed in the pedicure bowl. And the products they use come in their own individual packets so you are not using the same product as another customer. I enjoy my time there and I definitely spend time there; between 1-3 hours depending on what I get that day. read more

I throughly enjoyed my experience at Joy Nails. Friendly staff and personable service. They use bowl covers and sanitize their tools with a blue light sanitizing treatment. They also have chairs that hold your leg up for you when they are buffing, etc. the salon itself isn't fancy. It looks like any other nail salon. The attention to detail, great service, smiling staff, and the way they made me feel is what will keep me going back. I definitely felt the JOY! I got a manicure and pedicure from Vicky. She took excellent care of me, was very attentive, and took her time. I made an appointment the day prior. She blew me away with her detail on my toes. I'm new to the Atlanta area and visited this salon on December 20th, based on all the wonderful reviews. John did my acrylics with gel overlay and Tracy did my pedicure. My pedicure is still beautiful. However my nails didn't last a good 10 days! I normally get three weeks out of the good gel acrylic job. Maybe my expectations are too high. I may give Joy a try or just continue my search for a really good tech. The salon staff is very friendly and it is a warm environment, but by New Year's Eve my nails were a disaster and I was out of town and couldn't go elsewhere for redo. See photos below read more

I finally found a new nail salon that I absolutely love in the area! Jonathan did a fantastic job on my SNS nails. Tracy was amazing with my eyebrows and I totally trust her... The last person who did my eyebrows did them for over a year and a half and Tracy is outstanding when it comes to giving you the look that you absolutely want... It's hard trusting people with your eyebrows but I trust her totallyI have been trying to go to this place for a while but they're always packed and now I can see why. They recently remodeled and that is a plus but the customer service is what will keep me coming back. Absolutely not. Tried this place while visiting my friend in Atlanta and had the worst experience I've ever had a salon. I have very thin nails so when the woman started using the filing drill I asked her to file them by hand instead. She seemed annoyed but put the drill down and did a pass with the nail file, THEN went back to the drill, and after telling her that it hurt three different times, she insisted that she needed to use it, even though I had NOTHING (no polish or anything) on my nails. Joy and Jonathan are the kindest people, who care about and value their clients which makes for a very welcoming and homie atmosphere. It never fails to make me so welcome and excited to be there when they greet you by name as soon as you enter. Tracy always exceeds my expectations, no matter what crazy idea I have for my nails. I just moved to Smyrna and tried Joy Nails based on Yelp. My experience there was good but unfortunately my Shellac nails lasted less than a week. These are my real nails not fake ones and no acrylic tips. When I get shellac my nails usually last easily 2 weeks but 5 days after getting my nails done here I had chipped nails on my hands and toes. I was traveling on business so it was embarrassing to have executive meetings with nails that look like a 5 year old kids. I called and told Joy that I was displeased and she offered me 10% off my next service which is insulting. I cancelled my next appt and will try a different place in Smyrna. Sad that after spending over $100 at Joy Nails in one appt she isnt willing to have me come in and redo my nails free of charge. Save yourself time and frustration by going somewhere else. read more
