Journey clinic has strung me along for a year and a half. I've jumped through hoops in order to have surgery, I've done everything they have asked of me. They are horrendous at communication. Dr Underhill is the most unprofessional "Psychiatrist"that I have met. When I filled out my initial paperwork, I disclosed that I had recently became sober from alcohol and tobacco. They had me get releases from my personal therapist and psychiatrist. I payed for and attended the nutrition classes. Kept a food journal. Went to physical therapy. Did lab work. Got a birth control implant. When all of my requirements were met, Underhill called to tell me that I had to be sober for one year before I could have surgery. I was upset, why would they have me do all the requirements just to turn around and tell me no? I lost hope and started bad eating habits. Flash forward to my one year sobriety date. I had to start the process all over. I had one dietary session with Ashley, I told her how I had been eating and why, so we reviewed material and made an appointment for a month out to see how I was doing. I flung myself headfirst into cutting out sugar, caffeine, starches, and started measuring my food intake. That month I lost ten lbs just by changing my diet and doing light exercises. Ashley cancelled my second appointment without telling me. I talked to my surgeon and he gave me the go ahead to continue with the program. I was told that I needed to make an appointment with Underhill, but her next available would be four weeks away. I wasn't happy with waiting so long just to have a psychiatrist session. I got a call two weeks later that the clinic had received a referral and I needed to make an appointment with Underhill. I told them that I already had one and they said someone cancelled it. After a few days I was contacted to make an appointment with the surgeon. His next available was two weeks away. I escalated the situation, asked to talk to a nurse or someone higher that could tell me what was going on. It doesn't make sense to keep someone in the dark like this. I received another call one week later by some girl that said she can't tell me anything, as she has no access to my medical records. So I waited until yesterday to speak to the surgeon. He told me right away that dietary and psych didn't want me to have the surgery. I reminded him that I hadn't had a session with Underhill in over a year. He said she had written notes from three weeks ago. I asked how he could entertain her opinion when she hadn't spoken with me at all? He said for me to pay and attend another dietary session next week. Yeah, I'm not going to do that. They like taking my money and ripping off my insurance company. I've found a different surgeon. Im having my surgery. The journey clinic played me for too long. Don't be like me and take their word for anything. read more
