This is a smoky dive bar with a mix of people who have nothing better to do but sit around all day and drink cheap beer. This is a beer and wine only joint. They have a couple of pool tables, a juke box and a few video games and old tvs. No food unless you want peanuts, potato chips or pickeled sausges.

It's super nice people, I came from out of town. I've never been to a place w cheaper beer and free food. Everyone smokes (except me). But outside the smoke this place is great. Lots of fun. Super welcoming and talkative!

Flossie's doesn't try to be anything pretentious. It's a biker bar, hidden away on Ravenswood…read moreRoad, just west of the railroad tracks. I really only hung out at the outside, tiki style bar because there was an awesome live band called Nobody's Fault playing. It was a mixed crowd off rockers of all ages and some regular bikers. I was meeting some friends there on a Friday night. It wasn't too crowded because a rain storm was predicted for that evening. There are bar stools, picnic tables and plenty of room for dancing. Parking was free & the drinks were reasonably priced and the bartender was friendly. Not a bad place to hang with friends & listen to music....but not the kind of place I'd want to hang out by myself.

Did that loud semi intoxicated guy point at me and call me a "Queer?" Well, no he didn't, though it…read moresure sounded like he did. Others mistook it for that and it was close enough to drop the otherwise loud jovial biker crowd into a state of dead silence with expectations of what would be, for Flossie's, never before known acts of violence. Fact was, however, that the words spoken were in French, uttered by a couple from Quebec who, when noticing my leather attire, pointed and said "En CUIR belle," or something close that. As the French word for leather is "cuir," it sounded a lot like they said "queer," but was meant as a statement complimentary to my leather attire; having absolutely nothing to do with what some at first thought was a statement concerning the possibilities of my sexual preference. Yes, Flossie's is a "biker bar" but not a heavy biker bar. They don't have any fights here, not even an argument, or at least none that I've ever heard about. It's just a pleasant place where a bunch of fun loving, mostly elderly, as are just about all of the Harley bike riders, hang out for fun (mostly on Sunday's), a few laid back beers and a good time. Besides, as we all know, no one would be speaking French in a heavy biker bar.

We had a great time at The Feilds Irish pub and eatery Restaurant again with my family…read more As soon as you walk in, they greet you and they find you a nice table, but most of the time you have to make a reservation. We wanted a table right in front of the band, And we got it so we were really happy. We were greeted by our server who was very friendly attentive and really helped us with our needs. We got our drinks they were excellent. We had a nice Guinness and black velvets which is half Guinness half apple cider beer, I recommend that. It's really good. And then we ordered our food. Food came quick. Everything was perfect. I recommend the shepherds pie. It's awesome. My dad got the fish and chips. He loved it. He always gets it every time he goes. Drunken chicken is awesome. My sister got that. We got to listen to beautiful live music really fun atmosphere homie feeling, and we will keep coming back. The only thing with the parking is not the best, but get there early to get a spot, they have valet also. Or you can get dropped off by an Uber. Thanks again I'll be back.

Six of us went on a rainy Sunday afternoon for an early dinner…read more Parking was plentiful and easy. Even though it is a freestanding restaurant, I am told that it can be difficult to find a spot. The venue offers live music on weekend evenings, but we finished eating before it began and were too tired to stay. The restaurant oozes the Irish pub decor and theme. Our waiter, Jordan, was exceptionally friendly and jovial. And he was a master at suggesting alcoholic beverages, once you let him know your likes. We had 2 orders of Irish potato soup, 2 Shepherd's pies with cheddar cheese, 2 orders of the Guinness beef and mushroom pie, 1 cabbage rolls, and one fish and chips. The soup was filled with bacon bits and creamy and luscious. The Guinness pot pies were a bit small, especially because they were so savory. The accompanying mashed potatoes did not come with gravy and there wasn't enough from the pot pies to cover it. The veggies that came with all the entrees were freshly made and without any seasoning. (But it is better to add salt and pepper than to try and remove it.) The fish was a decent size serving, but again, no real seasoning. Nothing that some salt, pepper, and malt vinegar couldn't rectify. The coating was light and crispy. Our alcoholic beverages (Guinness, wine, and a couple of specialty cocktails) were thirst quenching and satisfying. (I loved my prickly pear margarita.) Dinner for 6, including 2 soups, 6 entrees, 8 drinks, tax, and tip was $300.

I've lived in Hollywood for over 25 years and have visited Boston Johnny's several times throughout…read morethe years, hoping it would become my "local" spot. I actually stopped going for a while due to consistently poor service, but a few weeks ago I decided to bring some friends and give it another try. Unfortunately, it was the same disappointing experience. The bartender truly sets the tone for a place -- and in this case, it completely missed the mark. We were ignored until we flagged her down to place our food and drink order, despite there only being a handful of people there. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assume she was having an off day. It didn't improve. My friend ordered a simple tap beer and didn't receive it until halfway through her meal -- with no apology. It felt like pouring a draft beer was an inconvenience. To make matters worse, I handed the bartender $40 to cover a $15 tab, and she kept the change without clarification. We were also charged for drinks we never ordered or received, so definitely review your bill carefully. Another surprise: if you want lettuce, tomato, or onion on your burger, each item costs an additional $1. That felt excessive for basic toppings. The most concerning part? There was a cat walking across the bar and around the food service area. I love animals, but that's simply not appropriate in a food establishment. It's unfortunate because Boston Johnny's has the potential to be a fun local spot. However, the atmosphere feels unwelcoming and careless. I gave it three or four chances before writing this review, and the experience was consistently the same. I hope ownership takes notice before more locals decide not to return. We won't be back.

Well we sat for almost 10 minutes at the bar and nothing. One woman bartender and one guy behind the bar- no problem. The guy was preoccupied on the phone. But then finally as we thought she was heading our way, she turns back away to ask someone who just finished his beer. HORRIBLE I have no idea of anything else about this place but that poor level of service is unacceptable. Not going back.
