Stumbled into this place by sheer hunger :) It didn't look like much but WOW we were so impressed the food was on point. We ordered an array of foods. Pasta piccata, Mediterranean pizza, Greek salad with grilled chicken, French onion food, and fried ravioli. Everyone licked their plate lol. Thank u John our server. Definitely coming back :)

We always look up restaurants that we may be interested in eating at before we get there. Because we were attending an event across the street we chose Josies. The place was wonderfully clean, cozy and a fun atmosphere! We started off with the Greek salad and it was perfectly proportioned. Lightly dressed with a mild vinaigrette again perfect! We ordered the chimichurri steak frites, wings, and fries. The steak frites was amazingly cooked to perfection and the pesto sauce complemented so well. The wings in the hickory sauce was excellent and the fries were served hot! We decided to chance one more time and see if they kept up with the perfect score and we ordered the baklava - you guessed it - amazing!!! This is a 5 Star restaurant!!!

    So called steak and cheese

Apparently the steak and cheese you can not see or taste the cheese and has very little steak. I'm not sure if they left soap on the dishes or cross contamination but all of us got a sick feeling within the hour after we left. The waitress was nice.

The decor was beautiful and well decorated with the downtown theme. The customer service was friends and attentive. I had the pits of the day and it was phenomenal! I wish it was an everyday menu! I left feeling full and happy because the food tasted wonderful and seems healthy! Will be back!

    Nice petite Med salad...

The worst Bloody Mary I've ever had. And bloody Mary's are not really complicated. The food was ok, but the drinks were bad.

talk about a comeback…read more The Southern Table staff and management sought to ensure we had a great experience this time and excelled. Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of Cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it was had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would be would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened on one side. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked her for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

And then the waitress was super friendly (like everyone we met in Florence). My wife had the ham po'boy which was grilled like a Cuban sandwich (yay!) and I had the fried shrimp po'boy. Both were excellent. For sides my wife chose a half grapefruit brûléed and I had marinated tomatoes. I remember having sugar on a half grapefruit as a kid, but bruleed? Epic! I loved the big wall in the front dining area-- half of a Cessna airplane on the wall, superimposed on a blueprint painting (see photo). Very creative. We'll be back!
