Amazing Chicken Caesar Salad and Pasta Fagioli soup brought home from Josie's

A truly wonderful experience here staying for the week in Wanamassa. I sought a Buffalo-ized Caesar Salad experience and Amy at Josie's would not rest until my request was delivered. She is truly a superstar. Their home made Buffalo sauce is out of this world. Every soup I have tried so far has also been incredible. I'd usually not go for a cream based soup, but the Cream of Tomato & Basil with Roasted Garlic has one of the better broths I've had, not too creamy at all. The next day, I snagged their Pasta Fagioli and again it was amazing. My friend also thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich he had. There are so many other items I want to try on the menu. Plus, they are dog friendly with home made treats also available! This absolutely has been a highlight of my trip and I will be back even when I am not staying down here.

Forget New York forget Philly the place to get a cheesesteak is on the Jersey shore! And once I tell you about this hidden gem, you will see why. A family owned and family operated sandwich shop this place mix everything you could think of! The bread is made fresh every single day people come for miles just to get the bread itself, I I knew I had to try some. So of course, I had to get the cheesesteak with peppers and onions, which honestly is the only way to eat a cheesesteak in my opinion& incredible way better than any chop cheese I've had from New York or any cheesesteak from Philly. This had real meat and real cheese, and I was absolutely in heaven I ate every last bite. Next I asked for a recommendation and was told to get the chicken Parm and it did not disappoint. I even wrapped up my other half to go so I can eat it in the car. Sandwiches are well worth the money and this place is super adorable. They don't have a sit down area yet but coming soon!

Great to go sandwich shop in Bradley Beach! My husband and I split a full-size grilled chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella - and finished the whole thing because it was SO good. A full sandwich (vs. half) might even serve three people who weren't as hungry as we were. The bread had just the right crunch in the outside and the mozz was delicious!

Can't believe I didn't try this sooner. Easily the best sandwich in the area. The cheesesteak was delicious and the bread is the star of the show. The turkey sandwich also got the job done. So good. It is a busy spot so I would call the order in. I will definitely be back. They have half and whole sizes (never understood why places do that) but the half was more than enough for 1. Great spot.

While visiting the Bradley Beach area on a Friday, I decided to stop by this place to try out some of their sandwiches. Looking up some info online, this place looked great. Plus, I was looking forward to trying out their cheesesteak since it's ranked as one of the best in NJ. I ordered a large cheesesteak sandwich as well as a large classic Italian sandwich. I was splitting everything with my girlfriend, and we figured it made more sense to get the large, so we can have some for later in the day, too. We ate the cheesesteak sandwich first, and it was delicious. First, the bread they use here is excellent. On the cheesesteak itself comes with peppers and onions, as well as 2 different cheeses. The steak is chopping finely, which I love, seasoned well, and everything just blended together and tasted great. It was the perfect cheesesteak. Super delicious and hit the spot. For the classic Italian, this was a great sandwich as well. Loved all the cold cut meats on here, and it was a very generous amount, too. I love a loaded Italian sandwich, and you get that here. Overall, this spot was awesome. Highly recommended. I will be back at some point to try some other sandwiches they offer, as everything we had so far was amazing!

This place is a not so hidden gem! A gourmet deli on Main Street in Bradley Beach! We were welcomed like family every time we went...and we went for lunch 3 days in a row! We had the chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella and roasted pepper sandwich on semolina bread, the Italian hero, the prosciutto, mozzarella Italian hero and also the angry Mac and cheese! Josie's never disappoints with their food. We get their sandwiches which are all great. They are very filling . My husband and son prefer the chicken parm sandwich. Bread is amazing!!! We just had a party and had Josie's cater it and the food was very good. We recommend the chicken francese and the eggplant rollatini. One could easily walk past this place...Dont!!! It is amazing. I placed an online order then headed there. Drove passed it 3 times. Grabbed a spot right across the street n ran in. All I can say is WOW!!!! I consider myself something of a cheesesteak aficionado but I MUST say Josie's is probably the best EVER! I've had both the chicken and regular versions and its hard to say which is better. Because I was feeling I was gonna get in a rut I also tried the Classic Italian which was also singularly amazing. Josie's is a great and unique choice for some of the most delicious (and best made!) sandwiches ever, bar none. The rolls are fantastic, fresh baked and have that old world quality so hard to come by anymore. Honestly everything is really well prepared and the range of sandwich selections is extensive. My fave is prosciutto de parma with fresh mozz, roasted peppers, and EVOO, all on their awesome crusty long roll. They have quickly become one of my regular destinations after having only tried them for the first time a month or so ago, I must have been living under a rock LOL Highly recommended :) read more

We found this place on Yelp after doing a quick search for delis in the area and could not have expected it to be soooo cute! I should have, they are in Ocean Grove, arguably the cutest NJ beach town there is. We ordered online and they were all ready for pick up in less than 20 minutes. Our group ordered 5 different sandwiches, and all were made correctly and were delicious. They had plenty of accommodations for our one gluten free friend (she ended up going with a lettuce wrap and raved about how perfect her sandwich was). My tuna sandwich hit the spot. Sandwiches were anywhere from $17-25 each, so not cheap at all, but when everyone is beyond happy, it's worth it. They had a few seats inside, and the three lovely ladies working were all so friendly and helpful. They are on an adorable street filled with shops, not far from the water, so if you have time I recommend a little bopping around.

When I walked into the restaurant, there were 6 people standing ahead of us at the hostess stand. Tables were emptying out but no one even acknowledged our existence for - no exaggeration- 15 minutes. We made conversation with the people around us that it was almost comical that no one even said they'd be with us in a moment. It was odd and we almost left and walked to The Buttered Biscuit down the street, but we stuck it out. Once we were seated we were given a tiny placard to scan the menu with our phones. Service after being seated was surprisingly consistent after our long wait time to be seated with no acknowledgment from staff. I have a gluten allergy and the online menu did not have specific information showing what was GF or GFA. When I asked the sever about it she rattled off some GF options but of course I couldn't remember all of them, having them marked on the menu would be so helpful. I ordered the Birria Omelette but chose to have the tortilla strips on the side since they were in a shared fryer. The dressing for the side salad was light and tangy. The omelette was supposed to be French style but wasn't creamy in the middle. Birria meat was tender and kind of overwhelmed the overall taste of the omelette. I also had an iced decaf mocha latte and it was good, not too sweet and pretty much coffee flavored chocolate milk. My dining companion had the classic French toast, which looked delicious and he really enjoyed it but I didn't taste it because "gluten." Ambiance is really nice, tables are well spaced and the restaurant is well decorated. Not sure if I'll be back but glad I tried it!

We went to the beach in Bel Mar for the day and drove over to pick up sandwiches. These sandwiches were HUGE and DELICIOUS. One small sandwich could easily feed two but I really wanted to save mine for later on. What a great find. read more
