Received a bill from Impression Dental (5970 S Cooper, Suite 1, Chandler AZ) for an oral evaluation…read morefor my son from December 2025. During that visit, the dentist told us our son needed around 13 cavities filled. Something felt off, so we got second opinions from two different dentists using the same X-rays, and both confirmed there was no basis for that diagnosis. We immediately informed Impression Dental's front office that we would not be moving forward with treatment, and they told us at the time there would be no cost for the visit. Fast forward to July 2026, and I get a bill out of nowhere. I called to ask about it, and the receptionist told me the "insurance cost" was $113, but if I paid cash, it would only be $39. When I asked why the price is nearly three times higher just because I have insurance, there was no real explanation -- just that "you have insurance, so you pay the insurance cost." This makes no sense and feels like a bait-and-switch. Being penalized for having insurance, combined with a bill for a visit we were explicitly told was free, is unacceptable. I would not recommend this office and would encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any recommended treatment here.

Every interaction felt confrontational from the start, and there was never any attempt to apologize or handle concerns respectfully. Instead of helping resolve issues, she came across as defensive, disrespectful, and completely unwilling to take accountability. What made matters worse was her apparent lack of understanding of their own billing system. Dates, times, and amounts owed were repeatedly exaggerated or inconsistent, and our account was overcharged with no clear explanation and no supporting documentation provided. When questioned, there were no answers, no transparency, and no effort to correct the situation professionally, instead she hung up on me. Patients should not have to argue just to get accurate billing information or basic respect. I am still waiting for someone in upper management to return my calls and address these concerns, which only adds to the frustration and speaks volumes about how this office handles customer complaints. I would strongly encourage others to carefully review every charge and document every interaction if dealing with this office.

I've had trouble recently finding a dentist within my insurance (BCBS AZ), which seems to have fallen out of everybody's network ...so, I was happy to find somebody in network who was also referred by a friend.
