Friendly service. Restaurant was very clean. We got the fiesta chicken and mama's enchilada casserole. Both were very delicious. Highly recommend.

Amazing food, the Thursday pork chop special was phenomenal! Salad was fresh, staff was very attentive and helpful. Also loved the soup!

Rather unassuming exterior. Next to where the LP vinyl record store used to be on Alameda.

A little tight on the menu, but it's a small place. I got the daily special (for Saturday) Lasagna and wife got one of the Burrito bowls (chicken) to go. The daily menu is very different from the daily specials. I've included a pic of each. I'm sure the daily specials might shift over time as it's in chalk on a chalkboard. Weekdays, there's two specials, Saturday...just the one. My lasagna was filling, satisfying and pretty much what I was expecting. Wife says the burrito bowl reminds her of bowls offered by a chain that starts with CH and ends with a trip to the bathroom. Joking aside, she said it was tasty, but not something that qualifies as Mexican food other than the name on the menu. Given the ingredients, I'd agree. Kinda hard to put a brand on what type of food offered here is...but it's good quality food. And the people running it are really nice. We'll be back to try some other dishes for sure.

Wow this place is a hidden gem! We stopped by and the owner was kind enough to send 2 complimentary conchitas soup, it was so delicious, so homey! I had the chicken with feta and ciabatta and my husband ordered the beef bowl, everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, tasted homemade I was so happy to try a well seasoned and juicy chicken breast! So goood! I wish they opened until later :( but we will definitely try again! The place is small and cozy.

Great food awesome service but the place is too small. I was told by the owner that they're looking into a new place.

We started with the fried mozzarella, and the moment I saw them I knew exactly what was coming with the entrees. Straight from the Sysco truck. They are charging $9 for five, and they tasted exactly how you'd expect, premade and nothing special. Then the entrees came out. Alfredo and lasagna. I didn't like either of them. Honestly, whatever. I guess I fell victim again to another small business dump. Then I go to pay. They don't do real receipts, everything is handwritten, so I didn't even know the total until it was time to pay. It came out to $46, which seemed off, but I brushed it off and paid. It kept bothering me though because I don't like being taken advantage of, so I went back and asked for a price breakdown. I was met with a very defensive and rude manager who was completely unhelpful. She told me the salads we were offered, which I did not order, cost extra because they were Caesar salads. Mind you, I wasn't even going to order a salad. The waitress told me it came with the entree. No upcharge was mentioned when I ordered, so of course I assumed it was included with the meal. Apparently not. The manager told me it was listed on the menu and that it was my fault for not reading it more carefully. She refused to refund the salads because I had already eaten them. When I asked for my tip back, she said no to that too. I'm sorry... the tip I added on top voluntarily? Eventually she did give the tip back, but only after arguing about it. Needless to say, I will be disputing this charge with my bank. I do not pay for things that were offered or promoted as free. Take your money somewhere else. Go to the Cheesecake Factory or literally anywhere else. Don't waste your time here. Small businesses like this are exactly why people stop supporting them.

The Gold Fish has proven this long-held collective pessimism wrong. Originally a cocktail bar only, it has now expanded into a cocktail, beer and wine outdoor/indoor bar, which makes complete sense given the city's demographic demands. It was actually one of the first businesses I was most concerned with us losing permanently during the pandemic. And I am so glad they have stuck around! It is a modern cocktail bar at its core, which makes it very unique to this city. This is an obvious adoption of cocktail bar trends from other larger cities in Texas. It is very nice, with a wide array of adult beverage options for discriminating consumers to chose from. The atmosphere is perfect, and the bartenders and staff are top-notch and super nice (the attitude is refreshing compared to what one may be used to recieving from such establishments in larger cities). I usually only come here when I have company from out-of-town, as I do not go out for drinks very often. At my most recent visit, I had just experienced a personal tragedy that I only briefly alluded to our bartender when she asked how our day was going. The amount of sincere compassion we received was not expected at all. My only regret is that I did not get her name, or else I would have gladly included it in this review.

When the hostess saw us from the kitchen she immediately came out and told us to pick a table. We ordered and then I decided I wanted wine with my meal and asked for a glass of Chianti because, well, it's an Italian restaurant. The do not have any Italian wine so I got the glass of cab. My dad and husband ordered the minestrone soup and really enjoyed it. My husband and I shared 2 sandwiches: the spicy Italian sausage and meatball sandwiches. There was no spice in the spicy sausage so we added a lot of black pepper. The meatballs were small and a little dry but tasty. The power went out just before we got our meal so we weren't sure what was going to happen. The staff was apologetic and trying to figure out what was going on. We got our food and it was hot and fresh. We were told that we would need to pay in cash which I rarely have on hand so I'm not sure what would have happened if I said that we didn't have any. We ate in the dark and were offered no compensation. The wine list is atypical of an Italian restaurant and having to eat by only the light of the front door being open without any kind of compensation isn't the service one would expect. I hope they got power back.
