Tried to visit and even though the website said it would be open, it was closed. No sign on the door or the website.

I walked in to do a little fiber-tourism, and I was expertly guided toward the local yarn wall/tree. Montana has such amazing fiber to offer, and I couldn't help but treat myself to a local bison/alpaca blend. It was very expensive, but considering it's shorn, cleaned, and spun locally, it was worth the money. They also had some great Ella Rae and other more accessible brands in fabulously-curated colorways. If I weren't up to my ears in yarn at home, I may have treated myself to some of that, too! If you're a spinner, this place also has an entire wall of fiber for you to choose from! I want to learn how to spin so badly! :) read more

Refused service due to no masks, wasn't offered one, worker wasn't wearing one. Drove from Washington state and went out of my way to stop in order to get yarn from Montana. I'm sure I'll find something better and more friendly in a small town. read more

You know the stereotype of yarn stores being snooty? This one fits right in with it. I walked around the store for at least 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my existence. Someone else came in while I was walking around and had a question about spinning, and the owner was extremely rude to her. Owner asked the customer why she wasn't coming to her for spinning classes, customer said she didn't realize classes were offered here and owner said well, you never asked in the most sarcastic tone ever. And was extremely wishy-washy when the customer asked about times, etc. Note- no where on the website does it say anything about classes. I had several skeins that I was going to purchase but after hearing this interaction, decided I didn't want to support this. The store itself is a bit overcrowded and not a lot of options between brands- or if there are different brands, it isn't easy to tell where one starts and the other ends. Went on vacation in this area and had a list of yarn shops to go to. Well, this was the ONLY one that was still in business. I had to love the crusty local who was at the helm. Not terribly impressed with the yarn selection.....basics like Cascade 220, Lamb's Pride. She had a few of the other "staples" that I find hard to find here such as Wool-Pak which I love for felting slippers. Small selection and big attitude, but managed to buy a skein of Mountain Colors "Bearfoot" sock yarn. She did have quite a bit of roving and some interesting lace-weight yarns that appeared to be one-of-a-kind, but that's not really my thing. read more

This is a nice LYS with some interesting varieties of local yarns, but not that impressive broader array of options. Everything is a little pricey but I am guessing her rent is too. Everytime I found something I really liked there were only one or two skeins so it is not a place to be picky unless you can wait for her to special order something for you. Janet was pleasant and pointed me toward a great pattern. Gets steamy in there on hot days but she'll wind your yarn for you while you sit in front of the fan. read more

I always get good help and advice from Janet, and she stocks beautiful local yarns. To the out-of-town person who gave a bad review because they went in without a mask and were refused service - you're what we call 'part of the problem'. There's a local mask ordinance and a sign on the door. Leaving a bad review for a situation that was totally your fault is tacky at best. The most welcoming yarn shop ever. Super helpful and tons of project ideas. Perfect place for a fiber fix, and wonderful selection of yarns.

Store was a bit crowded and uncomfortable in feel as well as fairly disorganized. I do like how local yarn is carried such as Bison yarn and some out of Bozeman. The owner wasn't exactly friendly or very eager to help. I don't know how it compares to other shops in Missoula as of now but, it isn't my favorite yarn shop I've entered. read more

This was a wonderful local yarn shop. I was from out of the area, and the person working helped me find a great Montana yarn and I was able to make a great cowl from the yarn in a few hours. If you're in Missoula you should check out this great store! They were also very welcoming of children and made us all feel welcome! read more

The proprietress, Susanna (the "crusty local" spoken of by the previous reviewer), passed away last year, and the store has a new owner. She specializes in fiber arts that are less common. She has a nice supply of local hand-spun yarns, as well as roving and natural dye-able yarns. This is definitely a store for the advanced fiber artist. She also has Ukrainian eggs that she hasdyed, as well as a lot of other very different, unusual products. read more

When I moved to Missoula a year back I was very excited to be living so close to a yarn shop as I love to knit and crochet. Sadly I've only been inside once, where our reception was so cold and uncomfortable that we promptly left. Since then my boyfriend and I have had multiple aggressive encounters with the owner who will charge out of her business yelling and screaming at anyone smoking within 100 feet of her front door. She clearly has no respect and poor boundaries, which is such a loss for a cute little shop that has so much potential. I recommend to not patronize this establishment. read more
