Very well maintained and the hallway walls were covered in cute murals. Lots of activities and everyone was pleasant and friendly. I work alongside them at the fire department and they are key to assisting and supporting our efforts in education. I would recommend the school for anyone that lived within the city limits or just outside the area. My children don't even know how lucky they are to get daily foreign language classes, an entire staff that knows them by name, on-campus tutoring (if needed), and all the individualized attention they could ever want! As a parent, I'm obviously thrilled with the advanced curriculum, something my children see as the norm because it's all they've known. But just as important is what they DON'T experience: phone distractions, fashion-comparison pressures, classroom behavior disruptions that hinder learning, overcrowded spaces, or the risk of getting lost in the crowd. It makes me so happy that this is the schooling that they get to experience. *I read a review mentioning that funds weren't used for front door safety, but we've actually had a new front door code access system all year!

Our family attended for four years (2021-2025) and observed increasing concerns, especially with the administration run by the Murdock family. Key issues of growing concerns included: -High teacher turnover, dismissed by the administration as normal but found to be worse than other schools. -Misuse or unexplained use of fundraiser money, particularly for promised security upgrades that were never completed (e.g., a buzz-in front door system). -Negligence with bullying, where a known student repeatedly bullied others and was only expelled after a serious incident, despite parent complaints. -Lack of leadership accountability, as all administrative roles and the board are filled by family members, leaving no room for independent oversight or appeals. I can't speak to non-returning students and families for other grades, but can say that with many of the parents in our child's grade that nearly HALF (of the now 3rd grade), including their older and younger siblings in other grades, left after the 2024-2025 school year due to these ongoing concerns.

It has…read more32 open classrooms (most don't have all 4 walls and instead have rolling pods and bookshelves for dividers) for K-5th with one class for pre-K. They recently built a new playground and gym in the past ten years - when I was there we had to do chair aerobics in the cafeteria on rainy days because there was no gym. The teachers and administrators continue teaching here for years because of the great support from the parents in the area. Classrooms are never overcrowded, and I can't recall a time when they had to use trailers. It's my dear alma mater and there is nothing bad I could say about this school; most of my great childhood memories took place here - the spring festivals, field days, sock-hops, and fall carnivals.

The reason why I felt that I needed to review this school is for all of the out-of-town people looking to move into a community because of the schools. Look no further... you've found your new home! Coming from Florida in 2006, we moved to Woodstock pretty much blindly. My husband was relocated so there was really no choice. We looked at 40 homes in 2 days! We looked from Canton to Roswell. The house we have lived in for the past 10 years was the FIRST house that we toured! Funny huh??!! I did a TON of research on schools when I was still in Florida. Greatschools.net was a Godsend! When touring our home I was able to speak to the homeowner for a brief moment. I told her that we were thinking of sending our kids to the local private schools. Her exact words were "WHY??" She continued to tell me that Bascomb Elementary School was all and more. In the past 10 years I have met some of the most wonderful, caring teachers that I could hope for. If you have a special needs child they take great care in making sure that they have exactly what they need to succeed! It does take a bit for you to be "accepted" by the front office staff LOL. I had been going for years and felt that they were a bit put off any time that I needed assistance. What I later found was these women work as hard as the teachers! They deal with CRAZY parents (insert my name) on a constant basis. Among the great teachers they have the BEST NURSE IN THE WORLD! Nurse Jamie is an angel! My son actually likes to make trips to the clinic on a weekly basis (little flirt!). But for real, I have never seen a nurse take such care. When my older son had been in the clinic, she called me and gave me his temp, OXYGEN LEVEL, and so on! WHAT??? That's just insane! But so needed from us working moms that cant jump every time our kid has a splinter. Bascomb is a great school. My husband and I are so thankful that our kids have been able to go through a great Elementary School experience.

They ignored my NEWBORN child when she threw up on herself so often she had to have 2 medicated creams to help with the infection it caused on her ears. When brought up to the daycare director Stephanie- SHE DID NOTHING. Instead my kids were asked to leave the daycare facility. That teacher is still in the infant room! 2. They never called me when my children were sick - EVER - instead I came to pick my child up and she was naked in the corner of the room covered in vomit crying - they gave her milk knowing she was allergic. When asked they denied but told the other co workers and was eventually told to me that my child was given milk. When brought up to the director Stephanie- SHE DID NOTHING! 3. The director kept double charging my daycare fees and said that wasn't being paid properly. And I had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund. 4. I walked in to the class to drop my kids and watched big kids in the infant room pulling infants hair out and pelting METAL water bottles at other kids heads (and the little girl was begging them to stop crying on the floor screaming) and again the teacher did NOTHING and let them beat her up- and said oh they're okay.
