When I mention again that the issue is pressing, I could hear her shrug before I said thanks and hung up. I'm now not only in pain, but feeling forlorn and lost. Maybe if you are providing medical services you should give priority to people who are in actual pain in front of people who were scheduled for appointments, or be courteous and try and help the person actually solve the problem and offer alternate solutions. My next call is to a therapist because I've honestly never felt more helpless, so thanks for that. I never went in, so I don't know how well they treat clients, but if it's anything near the blasé response I got then should run far away!

At the reception counter I was informed Dr Bello had a "medical emergency" today and that I had received a voice mail of this fact one day earlier at 9am. I replied no voice message had been received and also showed her a 7pm reminder text of my appointment from that very previous night. Receptionist then doubled-down on the lie about the a voice message and dismissed the 7pm robo-call as irrelevant. Unprofessional treatment of this sort by a medical professional is never expected. I have very high arches and a high step, which has made finding comfortable shoes difficult for years. I also developed painful calluses and assumed the issue was simply footwear. Dr. Calcagni took the time to clearly explain the anatomy of my feet and why they require specific support. Once that underlying issue was addressed, the pain resolved completely--just as he said it would.
