I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. These guys provide excellent customer service and I was very impressed by them.

The two movers arrived exactly at the scheduled time listed in my agreement. They were friendly, professional, highly skilled, and incredibly efficient. I unexpectedly needed a few additional items boxed on moving day, and they handled everything without hesitation. Every item was packed and transported with great care. Nothing was broken, damaged, or missing. The move into my new space was just as smooth as the move out of my old one. They carefully followed all of the building's rules for elevator use, placed furniture exactly where I requested, and neatly stacked boxes in the appropriate rooms. What impressed me most was their professionalism and attention to detail. They communicated clearly throughout the process, regularly checked to make sure I didn't have any questions, and truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. Before leaving, they removed all of the packing materials they had used and left both my old and new homes clean and tidy. The entire move stayed on schedule and was remarkably efficient. I honestly could not have been happier with how smoothly everything went. The two movers assigned to my move were truly exceptional--kind, courteous, hardworking, and diligent professionals who clearly take great pride in their work. Please extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to both of them. They made what could have been a stressful day remarkably easy, and I hope they know how much I appreciated their professionalism, care, and dedication. They are wonderful representatives of your company. Thank you for such an outstanding moving experience. I will absolutely use your services again for any future moves and will gladly recommend your company to friends, family, and colleagues.

They will price you one thing and the movers will take an extra 2.5 hours just to get to your location and then take their time to assemble anything they need to reassemble and work very slowly. I was charged for 5 hours of their travel time when it only takes 3 hours to get to the new location (maybe 4 at most because of the truck having to take a different route). This company actually worked for the person buying my home too and they had an awful experience as well. The movers were all grumpy especially the lead person who did not like to be told what to do.... quite frankly, it's my belongings and if I want them to place it in a certain area "like a shelf in the garage" I should not be told no or questioned and then stuff just thrown on the floor. Absolutely a disgrace. The company did not want to hear about my complaints or concerns.... I should not have to waste my time on a phone call to explain my concerns the day of a stressful move.

I used Thomas from TKJ Express, located in Farmingdale. This is a company I used before when I moved from my apartment to a storage facility. They did a great job and we oversaw everything that occurred during the move. Knowing that I'd be moving within a years time, I wanted to use them again because of the great experience. Booking went smoothly and he required cash the day of the move in New York. I did not have a contract, like I did the first time, but I thought nothing of it, and I recognized that was my fault initially. The day of the move, they stopped at my moms house first to gather my things there, then went to my storage facility and unloaded all items into a white moving truck. Things seemed to go smoothly and they would be on their way to Florida with all my belongings and furniture. Thursday morning I arrived at my new home to wait for the movers, and an uncovered uhaul (only shrink wrap) showed up hitched to the back of an Explorer. One guy gets out of the car. Only one, when I was told 3 guys would be doing the move. I immediately freaked out and started to cry because I see how my stuff was already handled, we just had a horrible tropical storm (just shy of a category 1 hurricane) and, knowing I have a flight of stairs with no capability to help this mover. My friend saw me cry instantly and tried to calm me down. The mover had no door stopper and continuously kicked my door open while unloading, making scuff marks all over, and without any care or consideration. All of my boxes and tubs were carefully labeled to what room it was going in, along with "fragile" where applicable. This man basically put my stuff scattered in random rooms, thus making it harder to go through. The table and bed were not put back together, as it was supposed to be. The table (which was not even a year old) is now missing a chair. As I have been unpacking, there is an enormous amount of stuff that is gone. STOLEN. Electronics, house wear, decor, name brand purses, etc. I'm not talking about one box or one chair. New items. A few year old items. Sentimental items. Things that I worked very hard for and things that meant something to me. Some items have been broken. Boxes have been RETAPED as if they were opened then taped up again . I tried contacting the business Owner, and was only able to reach him when the mover was here that day. I knew at this time there was something wrong based on the tone he took with me. He told me he was doing me a favor by moving during a pandemic and how he's putting his worker at risk because of FL being a high risk state (ironically, his worker didn't even wear a mask for safety). Thereafter, he would not respond to my calls or texts. I had my own mom now involved, to somehow get through to this man ... with no luck. No response. No acknowledgement. Nothing. The guy has continued still at the time I write this to not respond to us. I know people say things can replaced... but this guy took $2600 of my money, was careless with all my items, lied about the delivery and stole my stuff! At this point, I know I'm not getting my money back. I just want my stuff back. I want to warn anyone in the area not to use this company as I don't want to see what happened to ME happen to anyone of you. I am completely appalled at what transpired and sick to my stomach over it. So much is gone. I will be doing everything I can to get the word out because I would never wish this on anyone. This is supposed to be an exciting time, and to see how this was handled, and to have to go through this is heartbreaking. anyone who knows me, knows how much I love my stuff and how hard I worked for, how the littlest things were the simplest to me. Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!
