More than anything, I wanted him to finally have a real chance to get out of pain. Traveling from California to Maryland for surgery was a big decision. Michael has been an attorney in San Diego for decades and knows many of the top surgeons here, so going across the country was not something we took lightly. The doctors we saw here were talking about a much bigger open surgery. My husband, being my husband, had an enormous list of questions. A lot of the answers were already available in the information Dr. Christoforetti had put together, and his physician's assistant, Brian, answered many of the others. When we met with Dr. Christoforetti, he carefully went through everything with us and never made us feel rushed, even with Michael's never-ending list. One of the things that made me feel much better was understanding that doing the surgery through small openings did not mean he could see less. With the camera, he could actually get a very detailed view of what was going on and repair what he found without putting Michael through the much larger open surgery that had been discussed. Over the years, Michael tried just about every type of treatment available -- injections, physical therapy, and other non-surgical treatments -- without lasting relief. It meant so much to me that Dr. Christoforetti was finally trying to fix the actual problem instead of just treating the pain again. As a wife, there is a different kind of trust involved. Michael had to trust the surgeon operating on him. I had to trust the person I was handing my husband over to. Dr. Christoforetti made that easy. I felt that he truly cared about Michael and treated him the way you would want someone to treat a member of your own family. His whole team was wonderful to us. I had an appointment with Dr. John Ferrell on September 12, 2024, at the ROSM Washington, DC office…read morebut left before seeing him because I was not seen in a timely manner and left after an inappropriate time to wait. This is the second time I have experienced this problem with ROSM including previously in July with another doctor in the practice. Both times I was taken to an examining room in a timely manner and was left to wait in the room. After over 30 minutes, I left the room and spoke to one of the staff to ask if there was a problem. Both times I was told that the doctor was with another patient and would be in to see me in a while. My first complaint, therefore, is that it is not the patient's responsibility to determine why there is a delay. The doctor should instruct his/her staff to let the patient know that there is a delay and what are the patient's alternatives. Both times the staff person apologized for which I appreciate their apologies. An apology by a staff person, however, does not indicate that there will be any change in how waiting patients are informed of delays. On September 12, 2024, the staff person told me that the doctor was in a room with no clock, which is not an excuse but demonstrates poor planning by the doctor. Therefore, my second complaint is that the ROSM Washington, DC office is poorly managed and fails to properly plan appointment times for patients. I will not be returning to this practice for any reason.

I went to see Dr. Gazdag and he was wonderful. He was funny and an excellent professional. We took more X-rays, so if you see a light in Rockville, it is just me glowing at night. I am in a boot and a cane, but no surgery needed. Amen! The people who work with Dr. Gazdag and Ortho Bethesda were awesome. They were very nice and helpful. His imaging diagnosis convinced me of the importance to move forward with hip replacement surgery. Summit Orthopedics works closely with Sibley Hospital so I was able to schedule a Monday morning surgery and overnight stay at the hospital. The Nurse Navigator Supervisor at Sibley provided information on Pre-Op procedures and an appointment with Sarah, Summit's Nurse Practitioner, involved a review of the surgical procedures and the list of medications with a review of frequency. Dr. Siram brought together a great surgical team comprised of the Sibley Hospital Orthopedic doctors and nursing staff and an anaesthesiologist. The first nurse assigned to my post-Op care placed top priority on Pain Control and coordinated a meeting with In-House PT/OT Team to review and practice the Post-Operative exercises. I completed 2 weeks of In-Home physical therapy with Potomac Home Health Care, affiliated with Johns Hopkins and Sibley. The PT specialist was exceptional: checked vitals; reviewed my medications; provided a home exercise plan that helped me to begin walking with and without a cane, before starting In Office Post-Op PT. I would strongly recommend the Dr. Siram-Sibley Orthopedic Team.
