They had never visited the shop themselves but wanted someone in the wedding party to stop in and help them decide between Cardita and one of large men's chain stores in the area. The owner Clifford immediately impressed me. Not just with his selection of attire, but with his passion for men's fashion and willingness to go to any lengths to make sure his clients get exactly what they want. I tried on a few different tux's and chatted with Clifford for probably an hour and half. Unfortunately, despite my raving review, the couple decided to go with the large chain store thinking there would not be much of a difference in quality or experience. Fast forward to the Thursday evening before the Saturday wedding. The groom and I met at the store to try on/pick up our tuxedos and let me tell you...they were bad. Comically bad. The pants were baggy and did not fit correctly. The shoes had no shine to them and had these really thick rubber soles. The vest and tie were not the same color the couple had picked out, and the tie felt like it was just a piece of thin cardboard covered in cloth. When the bride walked in and saw us all she could say was, "what the f@%k are you wearing?" Obviously, the couple was unhappy, but with less than 48 hours until the wedding, there weren't any options other than to take the tuxedos and accept the fact that all of the guys were going to look ridiculous on their wedding day. I told the bride to call Cardita Formal Wear on Friday morning and maybe we could arrange to rent better shoes, vests, and ties from them on short notice. She called and Clifford did one better; He agreed to completely outfit the groom, groomsman, fathers, and brothers (at least a dozen of us in total). We sent in our measurements Friday afternoon, and they had everything ready to be picked up on Saturday morning. A few of the groomsmen did not know their sizes, so they just showed up on the day of the wedding and Clifford took care of the rest. If any of the guys needed an alteration, Cardita Formal Wear did it on the spot. He taught a couple of us how to tie a bow tie and even offered to send one of his staff to the hotel that afternoon to help tie them if need be. I personally do not know of any other tuxedo shops that could fulfill an order that size so effortlessly given the time frame we were working with. Seriously impressed and everyone looked great at the wedding. Fast forward (again) to a couple of months ago when I needed a tux to attend a black-tie event. I had not spoken to Clifford in many years, but I sent him a message and let him know I would be swinging by his shop to rent a tux. When I arrived, he immediately recognized me, greeted me warmly, asked how I have been, asked how the married couple is doing (even remembered their names), and recalled the color and style of tuxedo we wore for the wedding so many years ago. He filled me in on what he has been up to and how he's leveled up his customer service since we last spoke. While there, Clifford fitted me in a tuxedo and had it altered within a few minutes, so I could take it with me and avoid another trip. I know my review is long, but I think it is important to recognize excellence in business when come across. Cardita Formal Wear is the real deal and will undoubtedly leave you impressed. While we were waiting, the key holder--not a manager, from what we were told--wearing a black polo shirt and brown pants, was walking around the store being loud and talking about how he could control the music because he had that "power." He was using his phone and appeared more interested in playing with the music than helping customers. He then saw the employee helping my son and said, "You look like John from Staying Alive," and continued making comments about the employee and the professional suit he was wearing. He then loudly said, "It's time to get jiggy with it," and appeared to press something on his phone. When it didn't work right away, someone joked that maybe he didn't work there anymore. His response was essentially, "Wanna bet? I bet I got the power to turn the music." This went on for a while. Meanwhile, we discovered that my son's suit had apparently been sitting there for two weeks without the alterations/work that was supposed to be done. So we asked, "Now what?" At that point, the same key holder in the black polo came over and took over from the other employee. He told us there was nothing he could do, but there still wasn't any real effort to resolve the situation. The entire time, he seemed to be milling around the store, making comments, playing with the music, and generally creating a very unprofessional atmosphere. And then, before we left, the key holder got into a yelling match with another customer and called the police on that customer. From what we witnessed, the customer was upset about their own issues with the store, but I personally did not see anything that seemed to warrant calling the police. So, to summarize: a store full of customer-service issues, a key holder more concerned about controlling the music and "getting jiggy with it" than helping customers, a suit that had apparently been sitting there for two weeks without the work being completed, and then the police being called when another frustrated customer became upset. Wild. And no, this wasn't a TV show, Punk'd, or some kind of hidden-camera prank. This was MW on a busy Saturday. What an experience.

Her fiancé has an athletic build with a slim waist, yet somehow a suit that was supposed to be custom-tailored still fit terribly. After three separate tailoring appointments, the alterations were never properly completed. Now, with their wedding only days away, we're all left stressed and scrambling to fix problems that should have been addressed months ago. For a custom suit at this price point, the final product looks sloppy and poorly fitted. What made the experience even worse was the lack of accountability from the staff. Despite the inconvenience, wasted time, and stress they caused, no real effort was made to make things right. Their solution was to send my best fiend and her fiancé to Men's Wearhouse to fix the issues they created. While the Men's Wearhouse staff were helpful, the experience has completely turned us all off from both stores. My best friend and her fiancé chose Joseph A. Bank expecting quality, professionalism, and attention to detail. Instead, they received poor tailoring, poor customer service, and unnecessary wedding stress.
