Great store and atmosphere!! Loved the experience. Aaron, the Store Manager, really took care of us and got us into 2 custom suits for just over 1k:)! I would 100% recommend this location and company. Aaron definitely exceeded my expectations! Great Service as always! Stopped in for some pants and dress shirts. The manager on duty took care of all my needs and even worked through a situation with a rude customer whose Tux hadn't arrived because Fed-Ex didn't drop off the morning delivery yet. However, upon returning to have our purchase fitted I was able to voice my concerns to a couple of very attentive associates with every intention of making my previous, no so great experience right. Aaron was a rockstar and made me feel welcome and comfortable willing to answer all my questions. I just brought my 17 year old son into the Sarasota store at the UTC mall and we almost didn't stay because it didn't seem like they would have anything that would suit his style. Then Christine came up and began asking questions about what we were looking for. She led us to exactly what we wanted, even though we ourselves weren't sure. She spent a ton of time helping us choose shirts and ties and explaining all the different options and ways to wear everything. She even offered to fold the handkerchiefs for us and clip them so they would stay. We ended up with not one but 2 beautiful pairs of shoes and a matching belt as well. Horrible experience! Store Manager Lori (wouldn't give last name) was so incompetent and rude, I didn't think a human being could stoop to such lows. I am getting married in a week, bought $2,000 worth of clothes that needed tailoring for the wedding; additional cost of $450. I was given a 2-week delivery date. That date came and went, no contact by the store or other Store Manager Michael Allison. So, I called to see if I could come in and try my clothes on for proper fit. Lori answers the phone, like I'm interrupting her day, then proceeds to tell me 'your clothes are not ready.' She also states, 'I'm VERY educated'...before she says the following snippets from the conversation: 'I'm one of the Store Managers', 'There's nothing I can do for you', 'I will not call Michael (other Store Manager) as today is his day off', 'I understand your frustration', 'I can offer you a refund and you can take your clothes somewhere else.' NEVER APOLOGIZES ONCE. Obviously, I was not very happy with the position she was putting me in, since the wedding is here - now - and they have my clothes, but were not ready, she had no further information, and would not be bothered to get anymore information. I was trying to find out what she could do, not what she couldn't/wouldn't do. This type of problem-solving was not something Lori thought she had to engage in, instead she hung-up on me. No poor language, no personal insults, just what was actually happening to me, due to the poor service from Jos. A. Bank on Cattleman Rd, Sarasota, FL. I called back, stating 'You have my clothes and you have my money; I want a full refund and my clothes back.' AGAIN, she hung-up on me! So, I called back yet again and explained to her if she hung up on me again, I would post this ridiculous encounter on-line so others understood what this woman (Store Manager Lori) was all about, and the level of dis-service offered at this University Town Center location of Jos. A. Bank. She told me I was being 'rude' to her and hung up on me again. I had to call the Sarasota Country Sheriff's Department to go into the store and get my clothes; undone. She would not allow me in the store (understand, I said nothing to her on the phone other than the facts of the original transaction and did push her to see what she WOULD do for me, versus what she couldn't/wouldn't do for me). I've lived on this Earth for 44 years. I have a Doctorate Degree and am a local professional. I have never seen anything like this before in my life...and done to me right before my wedding, with the clothes I purchased expressly for that singular occasion. It goes without saying, I will never give Jos. A. Bank on Cattleman & University Dr. any business in the future, and I STRONGLY urge you to consider saving yourself the issues that thrive there as part of their overall store strategy. If Lori keeps her job after this incident, it must be a Corporate issue! read more

Last week I found myself in Sarasota needing a suit for a funeral. Honestly I was NOT in the mood to shop. Christine did an awesome job of helping me find what I needed and accomplishing the alterations in time for the funeral. I visited this location 2 days ago around 6 pm, with the intention of purchasing a tux. The staff simply chatted away at the register. I was there for about 10 minutes and no one offered to help, so I left. I went across the street to Brooks Brothers and purchased a great looking tux. Given that this is a new location, I was surprised to say the least. read more

I visited the store recently and had a great experience. Christine waited on me and I found her gift suggestions and size/color choice guidance very appropriate for my son and his age and occupation. Even matched up a shirt color to compliment his eye and hair color. I ended up purchasing more items than I originally intended but thanks to Christine and her suggestions for some sale items I was able to stay in budget. As she was ringing up my sale, the two other sales reps (one might have been the mgr.) were engaging and involved. read more

My husband and I had an excellent experience thanks to John at this location! My husband was in a time crunch to get a suit, ties, shirts, shoes, the whole deal in 1 day! We've never purchase a suit so we needed help. John helped with literally everything to include getting pants hemmed same day. We got a great deal on a suit for $199 and the shirts and shoes were discounted as well. We weren't pressured to buy anything and all the clothes look and fit great. My husband and I will absolutely return to this location. read more

Jos A Bank stores are usually fairly well managed. This store...not so well. I had an alteration done and two pair of pants ordered. They never called to let me know the items were in an alteration completed. I had to call and check after waiting well over a week. Multiple times now my things have been "lost" causing multiple trips to the store. The latest had an employee on a personal call in the back while his colleague pleaded for help because of waiting customers. He finally emerged from the back and only found 2 of 3 of my items. His colleague looked and found them in about 10 seconds. I will remain a jos bank customer, but I'll be unable to go to this store. read more

This Level of Incompetence is rare! This shop is a waste of a consumers time. I came into the store to buy a new suit, Shoes, Belt, Ties, hanky and underwear. I purchased all of the above.... They fitted me for the suit and said it would be 2 to 3 weeks for Delivery? Wow seems like a long time? We received a call 2.5 weeks later and said the suit was finished for pick-up.... I went to the store last night to pick it up and went in the dressing room to try it on.... and I was blown away at how poorly the adjustments were made. First they took the pants in.... not out? so it was waaay off....plus they fit like they were skinny pants or pencil legs? How can that happen? Then I tried the coat on and it was just as bad.... a big wrinkle on the neck, poor quality arms to body of suit with "Bunching". The whole experience was bizzare. So I asked for a refund because I has zero confidence in their abilty and I have a wedding to attend in 4 days. I go to the counter to get my money back on the suit... guess what? I gave them cash so they would have to mail my refund after corporate ok's the return? Are you kidding me? I went to DILLIARDS and got a Killer Suit and they will have the tailoring done Friday! So I had prom on Saturday, rented a tux on Monday. They said it'd be ready Thursday. Seems good. They took my measurements and it would be a tailored fit. Slim pants, slim tie, etc. I get there. Long story short, they gave me the wrong shirt. It was the biggest, baggiest suit I have ever worn, and they told me that there store only carries one tie size. The employees had thinner ties than mine. Makes no sense. Worst customer service I have ever had. Bought an amazing suit from Express Men. waste of my time. read more

The sales/specials give them the best value and deals around on custom suits! Aaron is the man - all about customer satisfaction! The tailor takes extreme pride in her and the store's end product and tries to do whatever it takes to ensure the customer leaves with a suit meeting or exceeding their expectations! Had a terrible experience at this location. Manager always has an excuse, or someone else to blame. Never an apology, or admiting that someone messed up. To pick up and drop off a tux for a wedding took five separate trips to this location. The tux was not ready two days ahead as promised (turned out they had not confirmed the rental when the deposit was paid). They told us they would have a tux FedExed for the next morning , but it was not there when we came at 11:00. The manager tried to blame FedEx, but didn't share a tracking number so we could see what service was ordered. On the third trip back, when the tux was actually available, seemed proud that he didn't charge for a rush delivery for correcting their mistake. Returning was just as bad, as the website listed opening time as 10:30, but locked up tight when we arrived and the store opening times scraped off the door. When asked about the website listing, he just said he'd already emailed about that. Tux looked great - go to a Jos. A. Bank location that is interested in customer service. read more
