Very sad really as the off site tailor they funnel people too is good but very very expensive. The kick backs have to be paid for I guess. Even their sales prices are too high. read more

May the Fashion Be Ever in Your Favor" Walking into Dillard's was an experience I will never forget--not because I found something cute to wear, but because I felt like I had just stepped onto the set of The Hunger Games: Fashion Edition. The dress section? Pure dystopian chaos. Sequins, feathers, bizarre cutouts--it was as if Capitol stylists raided the store and declared, "Let the Games begin!" I half expected Effie Trinket to pop out from behind a mannequin and start critiquing my choices. I was looking for a simple, elegant dress, but instead, I was met with options like: * A gown that looked like a bedazzled fishing net. * A dress with so many ruffles it could double as a hiding spot in the arena. * Something so neon, I'm convinced it could guide lost ships back to shore. To be fair, the store was clean and well-organized, and the employees were lovely (and thankfully not dressed like Hunger Games tributes). But the clothes? Yikes. I love the Dillards. I have always had a great experience with customer service. They have a few people that have been there for many years. They're very helpful and friendly. They have a huge selection and women's clothing as well as shoes, jewelry and sleepwear. The prices are a little higher than a Macy's; however, they have some excellent sales. In my opinion, the value of the product is worth the price. My favorite Dept, of course is the shoe department with such a large variety of brand and style of shoes. It's my favorite shoe department in the area, including independent shoe stores. read more

Visiting the UTC mall for friend's birthday and they love shopping at Dillards for purses. We strolled through the section for purses and one friend did find a great deal on a Kate Spade that was on the market down. There were staff members there in this section but never greeted us. If you are looking for a purse and you don't want to pay full price, depending on what you want and the brand you may be able to find a deal here. This location also has a section of Louis Vuitton purses that I believe are slightly used for purchase. Off to the shoes. Now I love this section!! Found a few pairs that I liked, not crazy about but will add to my list. Two friends with us found a pair that they both loved. The staff was quick to come over and see if sizes were needed. He was so friendly and helpful. Brought out the shoes, unzipped them and took the paper off so they could try on. Great service! read more

Per a salesperson's recommendation, I bought a pair of boots which I really liked and planned to keep them. So I disposed of the carton. The next day, I got an email about a clearance sale regarding the boots purchased. The price was now $50 less than the price I paid. I went to the store and they explained that I needed the carton for the return/refund. I asked for a credit but that is not their policy. Pretty sad. I will keep the boots but this has soured my opinion of Dillard's. Tough lesson for me. read more

Third trip to Dillard's in UTC...ALL three have been a disappointment. While this was a new department store for me...and yes, i understand that we are "post" covid with hiring issues, there is a common theme...lets start with the ladies department, cannot get anyone to wait on you...lingerie was better...and once someone did assist...you feel better but the young lady who waited on me was "not" helpful in the "fitting" dept. I have two bras that I do not feel fit properly and spent almost $200.00. My last experience was at the cosmetic counter...(i will not mention which one) a complementary spa/ facial treatment was hyped and offerred...it required a pre-planned appointment. I was excited and already use their most expensive skin care line...so thought how wonderful. I called ahead the day of my scheduled appointment and confirmed...yes, we are all set! I leave work early that Friday, to allow for traffic...its towards the end of the day. When I arrive (10 minutes early)...my consultant was doing makeup for someone else in her chair. Yes, she apologized and said it would be "just a few minutes"... that few minutes, turned into almost 45! ...The consultant actually called me to say...when they were finally available, that "they" were waiting on ME"!! I was then paged over the store intercom. Needless to say...I left the store and will not be back to "any" department at Dillards. Oh, and a voicemail was left, did I wish to reschedule for Saturday...ah NO. read more

I purchased a dress for my mother on a Sunday at Dillards at UTC in Sarasota, she tried it on but it did not fit. The tag was in the neck and uncomfortable for her to try on. we went to the store on Monday and the clerk told us that because she took off the tag it could not be returned. I was SHOCKED, we had not even had the dress for 24 hours. My mother is 88 and how stressful to put her through such a terrible experience. I will not return nor shop at Dillards again. read more

This was my first shopping trip in Dillard's. I was pleasantly surprised to see the shelves stocked. Items on hangers. Beautifully displays AND intelligent, kind, patient, attentive, and helpful sales people ALL OVER THE STORE. Our first surprise came in the men's dress ware. My husband was measured, properly, for a dress shirt and was told where to look for his size shirt. We headed in the direction and started hunting. The sales lady arrived and advised us that we were looking in the wrong spot. She insisted that my husband purchase a "slim fit" shirt and was not going to leave us until he had the correct size and fit! She made him try on a shirt and showed him why he needed the slim fit. I'm a fan of Dillard's and really like this location at University Town Center. This store has been open for about two years, and you'll find all of the sections of the store that you'd expect to see in this big retailer, but the selection of merchandise seems a bit better than usual. In general terms, the menswear section is on the ground floor, and it takes up half of the square footage, along with women's shoes, cosmetics, handbags, and intimate apparel. The second floor is almost exclusively women's wear, with a big children's, junior's, and housewares section. I did have a bit of a problem tracking down a sales clerk, and when I finally found the lady, she apologized and said that she was the only one working in the menswear department. That seemed a bit odd for a weeknight, and I docked the business a star for that. Otherwise, I liked the store, and would visit here again when I'm at the UTC mall. read more

Okay if you need to just pick up something quickly but would recommend going to Tampa if you want quality customer service. I asked to hold a few items while I went to a couple other stores in the mall. (I didn't want to carry multiple blazers across the mall.) When I returned to purchase, they sold my items to someone else. The manager just kept repeating "we didn't know if you were coming back." Frustrating experience. So like I said, if it's feasible just go to Tampa, you'll have a better experience. read more

Unpleasant shopping experience last night at Dillards UTC. The entire store was practically empty and I went to enjoy a shopping experience with my son & daughter buying school clothes. We purchased quite a lot and spent about $700 in the childrens section. As I continued shopping in the kids shoe department I noticed the security guard circling around us. What a luxurious shopping experience Dillards UTC provides for their customers! It's no wonder the store was empty. Next time I come in to spend more money, I expect to be treated with gratitude and respect. Poor customer service ! They lost a good customer today after I wanted to return or exchange an item that started to faye after having only purchased a month or so ago in the sleepwear department. It was the store brand Natori- high quality I thought ~ the manager blamed normal wear on the garment and refused to give me an exchange or a store credit. What poor customer service !! Disappointed in their online gift card policy. I had to purchase a last minute gift since I was quarantined for COVID exposure and couldn't get to store. I purchased the gift card online expecting to receive it immediately (as all gift cards online do) I didn't receive the card - still a day later and no ecard. I called Dillards and was told they have to verify credit card (I used their cc) before releasing the gift card. Isn't the purpose of doing an ecard to get it immediately?! This is a review for the men's fragrance department. Avoid it at all costs. They are disorganized. Four people dealt with me, and none were nice or pleasant. In addition, the one saleswoman i dealt with told me about a $25 card I would get if i bought the larger fragrance size. "It would help defray the cost of the product." After the deal was done THEN she says it's only for the fragrance or cosmetics department and only good from12/26 until 12/31. So basically she lied. When i pointed out that she had not made clear there were any terms at all prior to purchase she says, "well everyone knows and we are so busy, i thought you knew." Well what i know is she is a liar and you should make sure of anything that department sells you. read more
