My mother tried everyone there, but it was bridal season and everyone was swamped. I was so doubtful of things working out that I bought a back up dress. My mother and I had almost given up, when she made her final hail mary and contacted I Do Bride. The owner was busy too, but she miraculously made time to get my dress done. Then I looked at the dates. They were all from back in 2013. Either these people grossly exaggerated or Treasured Moments Bridal Boutique did a drastic turn around. The place was very clean and they had plenty of dresses to choose from. Joan was our bridal consultant. She was very patient and knowledgeable. My daughter had absolutely no idea what type of dress she wanted. JOAN asked us what are budget was and to look through the racks and pull a few dresses that we liked. After we started to try on gowns, she started pulling other ones that she thought she would like. Believe me we tried on a lot of gowns. There was absolutely no pressure. We left and went to lunch and then returned to again try on more dresses. Still no pressure and very patient. The following day I called JOAN and told her that my daughter was not sure and that she wanted to try on one other dress that she saw online. Treasure moment not have the dress but Joan thought that she should try on the gown somewhere else before she made up her mind. She gave us the name of the gown that my daughter liked and said if there was anything else she could do to please call. Long story short we ordered the gown that she found at TM. This week I called to see if they had a swatch that could be ordered of my daughters dress color because it was an ivory. I spoke with Mary. She called the company and a swatch could not be ordered but she ended up matching a swatch from the store to my daughters gown. And called me to let me know what she had done. When I picked up this watch JOAN and Mary were both there. I told them I wanted the swatch to match the flower girls dress. JOAN suggested I bring the flower girl in and to try on some of the dresses they had there because they were on sale due to the fact that they were discontinued. I gave Treasured Moments Bridal And prom only four stars because I don't know about the alterations. I will complete this review once her gown comes in and she is fitted and alter. Let the professionals help/ do what they are employed to do. Sure, you can have suggestions, which the sales associate took with grace, but also was able to read my face that I did not wish to follow up on said suggestions by my mom. That being said, I found my dress the first day I looked (this was the first shop I looked at). They were extremely helpful, and even suggested I bought the dress off the rack that they had just got in since it fit me perfectly. No issues, no stress, isn't that what you want from a bridal store? Definitely recommend! Their new location is great too :)

Granted, my experience prior to Encore was thrift shops and antique clothing stores with a small selection of dresses, so if you're coming from David's Bridal it might seem more limited. However, it is SO worth stopping by Encore if you're dress shopping, because their prices are amazing for dresses in new condition. I ended up falling in love with the first dress I tried on, but it was much too long and strapless and I was afraid the alterations to shorten it and add sleeves would push us beyond our budget, so I wasn't sure what to think. However, the sweet saleswoman who was assisting us let us know that the seamstress Encore recommends just happened to be in the store for another Bridal fitting, and so she came and checked out the dress on me as soon as she was done with her appointment. She immediately pulled out some cap sleeves to give me an idea of what it would look like, and pinned my dress up the way it would look if it was the right length, as well as all bustled up. (It has a big train!) She was so personable and knowledgeable, my mother and I instantly trusted her...yet we were still holding our breath about the price, since some of the alterations were a little tricky with the complexity of the dress. She gave us her quote and I just about fell over...because of how incredibly reasonable it was! My mother and I instantly said yes to her doing the alterations, and we bought the dress! We also shopped around for a mother of a bride dress and a shower dress for me, and all the prices were great. As a result, a good tailor is necessary, but finding one can be a tricky and vulnerable process. It is a frightening time to be LGBT, and especially to be trans, in this country. Which makes me all the more grateful to Mark, who was not only warm and accepting, but who provided me with some of the best service I've ever received anywhere. The experience you receive upon entering his shop captures an old-school brand of customer care that's largely been lost -- personalized attention, private fittings, direct communication between artisan and client -- with a thoroughly modern and welcoming attitude. On top of that, his work is absolutely impeccable. I've never looked better than I do in the suit I purchased here, and I wish I'd found him before my own wedding a few years ago. I didn't think I would find…read moreanything that fit me, let alone something that looked like it was made for me, so my experience with purchasing my wedding dress was amazing and took less than 1 hour. So, naturally I went back to DB's for my bridesmaids dresses. That was also good experience that went fast. My party and I heard that the dresses would be in on Sept 2, my wedding is on Sept 12. That had all of us worried. We knew some would need alterations. So we asked our salesperson about their alterations service. She said they do same day alterations and it would only cost us $25. So we didn't stress. Dresses came in and it was time to get the alterations completed. They charged me $65 for my daughters dress and said that it would not be done for 2 weeks (initially they said 3 but my wedding was in less than 3 weeks at the time of that conversation). So I asked them about the same day alterations at $25 per dress. Apparently that is not the case. Another bridesmaid dress hadn't even been delivered at the time and wasn't ready to be altered, obviously. Amanda, the manager, said she would note it in the clients file to waive the rush fee to the one bridesmaid whose dress hadn't yet come in, and I watched her type something into the computer. She and 3 other staff members were present when I talked with her about my disappointment at what I was told, versus what was true. Today, I called to be sure that my last bridesmaid's alterations happened without a charge for a rush fee. Lori B told me that there was no note in the clients file about no rush fee. Again, I panicked. But Lori said she would take care of my last bridesmaid and take the rush fee off of her alteration. I don't complain often because I also work in customer service, but it would seem to me that if it costs me $25 dollars to make an experience good vs bad, I would eat the cost. I thought Amanda did waive the cost when I watched her type in (what I thought was) "waive the rush fee." But that didn't seem to happen. I am thankful that Lori B. will waive the fee. I will give a 5 when my bridesmaid has her receipt in her hand and a date to retrieve her dress. Overall my experience was great but this one issue is a real stressor so close to the wedding. I have high hopes that things will go smooth now and that it'll all work out.
