I live in North Canton yet I always make the drive to this Davids. The one in Belden has a "too busy for you" feeling every time I go. I went to the Canton Davids a few weeks ago to exchange my wedding dress. I made an appointment and brought 2 of my bridesmaids. They were Packed. We chose several dresses but only tried on half of what we picked out. The woman told us someone must have put them away and that was it. During the appointment I didn't have much help In and out of these dresses and she kept disappearing. When the appointment was over and I hadn't found anything to exchange, the manager and another consultant got in my face and told me I could not leave my old dress with them until I found a new one. I didn't get mad, I didn't really say much but they continued to talk to me like I would flip out or something over it. I'm short so I don't appreciate it when someone gets close enough they have to actually talk down to me. It's rude and I'm not a child. I went home and decided to run to the Davids at the Summit Mall before they closed. I met Shana, one of the consultants, and another woman at the front doors. I told them what happened and they were pretty surprised. They sat me down, went through one of their books and slowed the whole process down for me. Shana brought me 3 dresses and the first one I tired is the one we exchanged the old one for. Since then Shana has been there every time I went. I stopped in yesterday so one of my bridesmaids could pick her bridesmaid dress out. While I was looking through sizes Shana pops her head out, gives me a big hug and stuck with us until we left. No appointment. She is a dollface and a lifesaver, you're lucky to have her. I do things the most convenient way and I drive 30 minutes compared to 5 minutes just bc of the service. I had the pleasure of working with Shawnna at both of my visits and she was wonderful to work with. The first visit, I was surprised and pleased to see that they had looked up the dresses I have saved as my favorites online and had printed the list to use while I was in the store. I tried on many of those dresses and was not sure when I left which/if any I would be selecting as my dress and I wanted to sleep on it. I was grateful when I returned a week later that Shawnna was there to help me again. I must note that making an appt. and doing your homework about which dresses look appealing really does help speed up the process, but of course, you don't really know until you try the dresses on. The 2nd visit, I found the dress! I was trying on one I had tried on the first time and another just for the heck of it. Well, the dress I was trying on was one I had saved online and just figured, "What the heck." That was it!!! I am so happy to say I found my dress, but even happier to share that working with David's Bridal was a great experience and it was due to the great treatment I received. Other pros: my family enjoyed the process, Shawnna talked with my family and encouraged them to interact in the process, she was quick to match a beautiful veil and give us ideas for hair options, etc. and most importantly she did not rush us. I am a second time bride and had looked at other places for just the right dress, only to be extremely frustrated. I was ready to give up until my fiancé suggested that we try David's Bridal. We walked in, with no appointment, on a Sunday. The lady that greeted us at the front desk listened very patiently to my list of things I did not want in a dress. No white dresses, no puffy dresses, no ball gowns and nothing that makes me look like I'm going to prom or trying to be 20 again. My consultant took me around the store trying to get a feel for what I liked and what I didn't like. I was shown to a dressing room and tried on several very pretty dresses and had decided on one, but wasn't thrilled. As we made one last pass through the store I spotted a cocktail length ivory dress on the rack, but it was super expensive. My consultant said, "stay right there. I have something very similar with a better price." She came back with the most perfect dress for me! It was in my size, so no need to order one. The dress needed a little alteration, which was done on the day they promised. Top notch customer service. I would recommend David's Bridal to any bride! They were absolutely amazing. When I went to try on wedding dresses for the first time I was excited.. until I saw the complete lack of plus sized selections. I tried on the few that I found in or close to my size and hated them all. I thought I knew the cut and fabric I wanted, I could picture it in my head perfectly but it just was not working. Once Laurie noticed that I was frustrated and about to leave she asked the girl that was helping me that day if I had tried on these other 2 dresses and brought them back for me. They were nothing like I was looking for and I am SO glad she convinced me to just try them! When I put on my dress I felt incredible! It fit me perfectly and felt great! I am so in love with my dress and I 100% without a doubt have Laurie at Fairlawn to thank for that! To be honest if not for her convincing me to leave my comfort zone and try something new I would probably be getting married in a sun dress! Let me start by saying that I'm from Texas. I went to this David's Bridal so my grandma (who can't come to the wedding due to health reasons) could at least see me in a wedding dress. I planned on trying on a few dresses and then leaving empty handed, just to satisfy my grandma and aunt. I ended up buying my dress, veil, and belt all at this location and am having it shipped down to Texas. I loved this David's. The employee who helped me (Big shoutout to Alena Westfall, you rock!!) was attentive, kind, and listened to what I had to say. She helped me in and out of numerous dresses and picked ones she knew I would like. She was amazing!! Even the store's manager helped me! And they didn't pressure me to buy like other stores have. I've been to a David's here in Texas. The employee was busy, refused to listen to me, and my friend did most of the work. At this David's, even though I told them I was probably just looking, they made me their top priority. I cannot write enough good things about the ladies, and my experience at the David's Bridal in Fairlawn!! I came in looking for a dress for my wedding less than a month away. I was so nervous I wouldn't find one. These women were AMAZING!! Amanda (consultant), Ashley (store manager), and Mary (alterations manager) all worked together to find me the best dress I have ever seen in my life. I felt like I made friends while I was there. Ashley showed me pictures from her wedding and I showed them all pictures of my son. We laughed together. We hugged. And most importantly, we found the most beautiful dress! Amanda wasn't mad that I had less than a month to find a dress instead she talked me up and told me she would find me one for sure. She would "ohhh" and "ahhh" and tell me how good I looked. Amanda is so great, nice, and funny! Mary is the best alterations expert I have ever worked with. I would 150% recommend this store to all my friends and family. Fabulous job ladies. So with the SCOTUS ruling in favor of Marriage Equality, my partner of 11 years and I decided to get married 10/31/15! I went in to David's Bridal to browse their dresses. I ended up leaving finding my PERFECT dress and my bridesmaid dresses. Alena and Laurie HOOKED me up. Alena helped me achieve the exact "look" I was going for! Laurie was on her toes and bending over backwards for us! I left with a date to try on bridesmaids dresses with my three amazing ladies and an idea of exactly what I loved! So, with that being said... Going dress shopping as a gay woman can be very intimidating and you are NEVER sure what the response to your joy will be, but there was not one person (including other customers) that was not over the moon for Molly and I! We were so welcome and just as important as every other person there, which is a very affirming feeling. Agree with Bunna D on Alena but the rest of the staff? I went to David's Bridal in Fairlawn a few weeks ago and it started off great! I was very impressed with Alena and she helped me find exactly what I was looking for! Alena was fun and I could tell she was great at fashion. She also had a wicked cool accent! However the experience soured after that. My dress needed some minor modifications just like always and the alterations person was rude and made it seem overly complicated and really did not want to assist me. I went from very high on David's Bridal to couldn't get out of there soon enough. Longer story short, the second half of the experience was enough to make me go somewhere else. I went to this location several times and each time received amazing service. Alena is AMAZING, and I highly recommend requesting her when making an appointment. She is funny, has a great eye, and can help you find EXACTLY what you want! My appointment was supposed to be an hour but I was there for over 2 and she was super patient. Louis was there as well, and she was AMAZING! They both went out of their way to ensure that I had the dress of my dreams when I felt all hope was lost over a dress I had but didn't fit any more. I brought each of my bridesmaids back to see Alena as well. They received great service, found perfect dresses, and each received $20 off since I got my dress there. When I walked into David's Bridal in Fairlawn, I had only planned on browsing dresses. I didn't expect to find my perfect dress and that's exactly what happened. The consultants set up a walk-in appointment and helped me find the best dresses for my body and my personality. When I did find my dress, they helped me figure out it was even more on sale than previously thought! Laurie is incredible and supportive. She even offered to talk to my bank when I was having card activation issues. My experience was incredible because of her. She helped me find the right dresses for me (she even knew the right designer for my style) and she talked me through the alterations I would need to take. I just got my Wedding Dress back today! I got it altered and just picked it up today which was a month later and my wedding is July 25th! Anyways I tried it on and everything fit perfect except my boobs! The top part of my dress was still VERY loose. In fact I jumped up and down 3 times with the dress on and it fell to my waist..I didn't want to be dancing at my wedding and my boobs fall out! Lol But this very nice and caring lady named Mary came to my rescue and fixed me all up! The dress fit perfect after she came to help! The staff at David's Bridal at Summit Mall brings customer service to a whole new level. They sincerely care about the brides and their families and continually go above and beyond what even the most exclusive boutiques could provide. Due to weight loss, my daughter needed to exchange her dress for a smaller size. Our consultant Shauna along with the store manager took care of it with no problem. What could have been a very stressful situation was handled with smiles and encouragement. It is very rare to find a store where the entire staff is so committed to make choosing just the right dress such an extraordinary experience. They picked out a dress that wasn't in the book based on my tastes despite how poorly I'd described what I was looking for - mostly because I didn't know myself - and BAM! the dress was PERFECT. They were also so helpful and accommodating, especially since my wedding was a month away at the time! I go in again to get my dress altered soon and I'm so happy and excited. I went to this location several times and every time I went, I was treated with great respect. They were there to be excited with me, not just sell me their products. I appreciated the time they spent with me while looking for wedding dresses. My appointment was only an hour. I left 2 1/2 hrs later with my dress ordered, feeling so joyful. The whole time, Alena helped me in and out of dresses along with a trainee. I returned to get my girls bridesmaids dresses. Each girl received $20 off because I ordered my dress there. This is the best David's Bridal for our family!!!!! It was on September 5th 2015, my daughter's big day. My wife was in panicked because I don't know how to iron the veil for my daughter and one of my daughter bridemaid dress!!! We have only until 12:30pm to get thing done. I think her name is Michelle as my wife informed. She was so kind and offered to help get rid all the wrinkles out of the veil and take care of bridemaide dress for no charge and she said only 15 mins!!!! I had such a positive experience at David's Bridal! I had gone in without an appointment just hoping to browse the dresses and get ideas of what I liked. They had set us up with a walk in appointment even though the store was pretty busy, and made sure I got as much help as possible! Stephani P. was wonderful and so helpful. She spent so much time with us and made sure I got the full look with every dress. I had gone in with no intentions of purchasing a dress yet, but left with the most perfect dress I could imagine. Mary was very kind and welcoming to me, kinda like an old friend. Her professional demenor relaxed me. I found a dress for mother of the bride and she altered it perfectly. Meanwhile I was helping my pregnant daughter with her alterations at a different dress shop where the bride's mate dresses were purchased so I was able to compare services of both stores at the same time! The service she received there was very unorganized, rude and sloppy. I previously wrote a negative review regarding Davids Bridal but their quick response to my review has changed my mind. Shortly after my review the manager, Laurie (I think) contacted the bride and wanted to fix things with all of us. Every one of the bridesmaids (7 of us) were happy with the final results. When I went to the store in person tonight to have my issue fixed, Laurie was not there, however, the other manager, Nikki, was and she was simply wonderful.
