This is easily our favorite Tex-Mex spot in town, and we keep coming back for good reason. From the moment you walk through the door, the hospitality sets it apart. Nada is hands down the best server we have ever had. We ask for her every single time we visit because she always greets us with a warm smile, treats us like family, and remembers exactly what we like to order without missing a beat. On top of that, the owner, Jorge, is genuinely the nicest restaurant owner you will ever meet. He consistently takes the time to come around to the tables, say hello, and personally make sure his guests are happy and well taken care of.
The food hits the mark every visit. Their guacamole is fresh and perfectly seasoned, the white queso is rich and addictive, and both the cheese enchiladas and carne asada are absolute standouts. I will admit I haven't ventured across the entire menu, but once you find dishes this consistently great, there is no reason to risk ordering something else.
A major detail that deserves serious credit: they actually carry bottled water. Finding bottled water at restaurants--especially around Mount Pleasant--is surprisingly rare. If you want to avoid municipal tap water loaded with chlorine, fluoride, and whatever else, it is a breath of fresh air to find a place that actually keeps it on hand. It is an easy way to please customers, and it makes a huge difference for those of us who care about what we drink.
The only negative has nothing to do with the restaurant itself, but rather the location on the side of town that gets hit with that foul, putrid odor from the chicken processing plants--an issue the city council really should have handled with better commercial zoning years ago. That said, the second you step inside, the smell is gone, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is outstanding. An easy five stars all around. read more
