Jordie's is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. It's 5 miles west of Royalton, MN, off hwy 371. It's part cafe, craft store, ice cream, and pie shop. Cozy indoors, tables covered with table clothes to make me feel like I was eating at Grandma's house. Outside is an oasis with its large garden, fish pond, little nook areas to relax and eat. We had their soup and salad buffet. Soups were homemade, and the salad bar was fresh, providing all the basics. Granny's potato soup was my favorite. Next time we stop by, we are going to get the broasted chicken! The employees were super friendly and helpful. They talked about the history of the 1907 building. Hotel, turned bar, then cafe. Went there on Sunday 9/28/25 in the afternoon for a long overdue lunch date with my 8 year old. Was severely disappointed. Entered the place and servers and owners (im assuming based on website photo) were lounging (owners) and just stared as we entered...they did not say a word as we didn't know exactly what to do or where to order. Felt uncomfortable. Stood at counter til a young waitress finally presented us with a menu. Prices were steep and water was extra. Presented on paper plates which for the price seemed even more cheap on their part. Food was as anywhere else. Ate INSIDE and kept having to sway away wasp which when we asked for a fly swatter they never delivered. The one unique experience we could have had in a long while turned out to be extremely disappointing. Never will return and will pass along thoughts to others. The outside area is super cool and it was nice being outside on a nice breezy day. There is a lot of convenience here with soda machines inside and outside. The outside machine is in the sun and so the sodas aren't cold in that one. The inside machine is cold. They offer a Gold Peak Tea dispenser but it didn't taste very good. I simply love this place. It is in the middle of nowhere but right on the bike trail. Outdoor sitting area will take you back to a different era when things were a little kinder, gentler and slower. Jordie's deserves five stars for atmosphere alone. The food is pretty darned good, too! Found this place via Meetways.com as a stopping point between the Twin Cities and Bemidji. It's worth a detour even if you're not biking. In a historic building, Jordie's is kind of like a non-chain Cracker Barrel, with gift items for sale and kitschy décor. Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. The owners have obviously put a lot of care and hard work into the building, the grounds and gardens, and the menu featuring fresh home-made food. I hope to return on a day when it's not too hot to enjoy outdoor dining. read more

Went for Friday fish buffet. They don't have a steam table so the food is in crockpots. Soups were watery and flavorless. Potatoes were lumpy. Dressing was uneventful. Gravy salty. Salads poor. I loved this place. Ate one of the best BLT sandwiches I've ever had. I was with the whole family and they enjoyed their food as well. Jordie's is a super cute place with old timey candy and Knick knacks for sale as well. I rode my bike 73 miles along the Central Lakes, Wobegon, and this place is right off the Soo Line Trail. I met a friend here for pie, and what a pie it was! Located in a beautiful old brick building across from the Soo Line Trail, Jordie's is impeccably clean, and decorated in a familiar, kitschy, small town manner. I had a large and decadent piece of 'forest floor pie', which included apples and any kind of berry you can think of. The pie was generously dotted with whipped cream and rested on a berry sauce. The crust wasn't as flaky as I prefer but was tender and flavorful, so I can't really complain. The filling wasn't overly syrupy, and though I was skeptical of all the flavors in one pie, the difference from bite to bite made for a great pie eating experience. The coffee was even adequately strong! I'll have to come back some time and have a full meal in the hopes of upgrading them to five stars. As it stands, it is my new favorite pie shop! read more

Such a unique place! Me and my husband were looking for a "non-chain" restaurant on our way home from up north and stopped in on chance. Unremarkable. Maybe we were just unlucky. We sat outside at a table in the garden area. Thought someone would clean the bird crap off our table but...nope. After the server finally showed up (a very nice girl who tried very hard to handle whatever tables she was covering). We ordered a chicken sandwich and a chicken wrap. I ordered my wrap with on onions. It took significantly over an hour to get our food. Soup was cold tasted OK and my wrap had loads of raw onions. Server asked how is your food?... So I mentioned it had onions. She apologized and offered to have the kitchen make another....like we were going to wait another hours and a half to get that. Our food was certainly not noteworthy/special. Apparently the pie is famous/good. Advice would be... stick with the pie and plan on a two+ hour event. read more

This place was amazing. Out of the way but definitely worth the drive. Generous menu but not overwhelming. They had 6 soups of the day. Pollock sandwich was the best ever; and the Caesar chicken wrap was just as tasty. We choose Jordie's famous fries and glad we did - they were fantastic. Jordie catered the "Downton Abbey Quilt Retreat" in Little Falls. It was spectacular! The menus were great, the food was delicious, the service was flawless, and Jordie was fabulous. She and her group developed an early 1900s menu just for our event. I would hire for any event without hesitation.
