I'm happy to have a home town pizzeria from which to purchase quality products. I especially like the wings and the Hawaiian pizza.

Inn stay: 5. Event experience: 3…read more We received a call from Debbie the day of check-in letting us know our room was ready early, if we wished to check in ahead of time. Upon arrival, it was so helpful to have our own assigned parking spot. As soon as we entered the lobby, Debbie was a delight and greeted me by name; she escorted us to our suite and showed us the amenities and answered any questions we had. The room was clean and spacious, and the grounds along the Sugar River were lovely. We were immensely pleased with our stay. The Seafood Soirée event felt hodge-podge. VIPs didn't get any sort of band to tip off the bartenders that our drinks were free for the first hour; two separate times I heard staff in other areas talking about workers getting placed behind the bar without being trained (one resulted in a coordinator having to comp a bottle of wine as the bar staff was misinformed). So the lines were long, the chairs should have been pulled away from the bar as they got in the way and people tried to sit in them. Trying to meet Andrew Zimmern as a person with manners was difficult as staff didn't even attempt to keep order and people kept budging in without waiting. The food served during the VIP hour was underwhelming. Then we get to 4 pm and walk out to the stations to find the food wasn't ready. Cue milling about. Then the two chef celebrities didn't even speak on time. We eventually left early and went back to our room. So regarding coordinating and hosting an event, they really missed the mark. We would definitely stay at the Inn again, and in fact are already talking about returning. But would we spend a few hundred dollars to attend an event there again? No.

Not all cheese in Wisconsin are worth getting excited over. Ok. That seems fair in light of their efforts. Don't hang a sign saying walkins welcomed on the sidewalk when you treat those that walk in like they're not. Our server was attentive-not quite to a fault-and responded quickly. Actually he was really nice and likely oversaw the reconciliation. The high top bar setting is good-not too loud but open and I love a kitchen view. As for the food I'll mostly ignore their cheese tower-though the pickles and mustard was stand out great. But the entrees. The haddock fish fry was perfect. Though the slaw is flavorless. Truly great fish fry. Top 5 in Dane county. Their short rib was amazing. Tender. Polenta cubes delicious. Veggies great. They both suffered from the same problem. Staging. For the fish fry the fries were at best ambient room temp. For the short rib the polenta was the same. They both lose their temp fast. So. Someone plated them first and then the meat was super temp hot at serving. Time it better-freshman error. But I stand by it. Mostly great tasting food. Really good service. If halves were allowed it be 3.5

This was my second visit so I can confidently give this place five stars!…read more The service at So Chopped is phenomenal, and I can confidently say that about the other Bodacious Shops. The workers at Bodacious Olive were so generous to give us popcorn and olive oil samples on our first visit. And, on our second visit we visited Bodacious Brews where the guy taking care of us was so patient and kind. We ordered a Ryokucha Green Tea that was delicious. It is a joy to go and visit this little block of shops! It also worth mentioning that is right on the water, and offers a lovely view on a warm day outside! Back to So Chopped! The service was just as friendly the second time around. The food was just as fresh and delicious as I remembered. I ordered a build-your-own salad with fresh spinach and other fresh, delish toppings. I love that they asked how I wanted the dressing, a tasty Sesame Ginger, which I asked for on the side. Hubs got a Vegan Wrap, served hot, with a pickle and chips. I can't recall what was in it, but I knew it was good by his smackin' and constant moaning. It was annoying, but it was obviously good! I know that So Chopped seems like a simple concept, salads and more, but I absolutely love the simplicity of fresh and healthy ingredients. I wish more options like this existed! I also feel like the prices are very reasonable, and the service is fast! My only gripe would be the hours. It is hard to visit this restaurant as often as I would like because of the narrow window of hours during the business day, 11a-3p. If only I worked in the area...!!!

This place was a nice surprise, It could use a bit more ventilation though as it was really warm…read morewhich is a side effect of the open kitchen concept. We ordered way too much food, but it was all so good. We ordered the large nachos which is no joke it is served on a pizza tray, and is huge. I was also excited about this fried potato appetizer; it was good but honestly did not live up to the hype in my mind. We ended up taking most of everything home to eat the next day, and it was all still delicious. The chipotle chicken and mushroom burger was delicious. The food was freshly prepared, and our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. We already plan to return to this place, as there was other items on the menu that we wanted to try.

Attentive and friendly service as well. My hubs and I stopped for lunch and shared the "Farmer Turkey Club" and "Hub Salad". Check out the menu in the pic. Everything was super fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. The salad was huge, as pictured, with a fresh made pear vinaigrette and the sandwich was stacked high as well. The club had a garlicky toasted bread which elevated the sandwich perfectly along with the thick sliced herbed Turkey! Will definitely be back to check out the dinner experience! Side note, great place to make a stop for charging your e-car right across the street or gas stations on all corners as well.

The Swiss hotel is very cute and located less than 2 blocks away from the downtown area where the fests were. The hotel is also dog-friendly, which was important during our stay. I'm giving 4-stars because the hotel needs a little upgrading and my husband didn't care for the breakfast he had. The scrambled eggs were watery and there wasn't any butter for the pancakes. Also to note, our room was neat and looked clean but we noticed the recycling hadn't been taken out and I'm certain the shower wasn't cleaned before we arrived because there was a white residue all over the shower handle. Overall, I would stay here again because of the location, it's dog-friendly, and I loved the Swiss charm.

The windows had cobwebs, the room was dark and dreary and looked like nothing had been updated probably since they opened. Not only all that but I brought my own pillow, forgot it at the hotel and when I called no one could find it. This was no regular pillow. It was a square pillow with a BIG blue circle in the middle of it especially made for neck issues. Anyone could have seen that this was no regular pillow. Where or where could it be???. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and if you do stay there, look out for thieves and bring cleaning supplies.
