I posted an ad on craigslist because I needed make up for a special occasion, and when Jonathan responded, I was impressed by his portfolio. I emailed him back sample pictures of hairstyle and coloring I wanted, and quickly set up a time with him. The entire process was quick and smooth. On the day Jonathan arrived promptly, he made sure he knew what I wanted before started working, and the result was amazing. It made me feel much more confident for the day. If you are into natural make-up style for a special occasion and need your makeup done at home, I highly recommend Johnathan. read more

How I wish there were more stars--Jonathan is "excellent"--far superior to Yelp's "great." He did my hair and makeup and my husband's 2 adult daughters' hair and makeup for our wedding. From our very first email, Jonathan was kind, patient, and positive. He truly came from a place of "how do we make this special for you?" I was concerned because I am an older bride (67). There is a huge difference between how much you do to hide the wrinkles and spots and still look normal and overdoing it and looking false. Jonathan hit the mark. We met for a trial run and had the best time. Based on what transpired, we modified it for the actual wedding. When I mentioned that I really needed to purge my makeup and get what would work for me, he helped me with that chore. My two new stepdaughters absolutely loved working with him. He was masterful at gauging our different personalities and finding the best way to interact with each one. And he remained CALM!! Which certainly helped me remain calm. Every girlfriend of mine commented on how beautiful my hair was and how wonderful I looked. My new husband was over the moon and still talks about it. As we all know, if those in your life ooh and aah, it is something to hold near and dear!!! Thank you, Jonathan. You are a true professional and an incredibly dear human being... read more

Jonathan was incredible for makeup on my wedding. Everyone raved about how amazing my makeup looked that day. I never wear makeup because of my eczema, so I was very uncertain about what style to go for. I ended up sending a bunch of different photo styles for him, and he ended up taking inspiration from different parts to give me a very unique look that highlights my own features. I can't stress enough how incredible it looked at the end. Plus, he used the best quality makeup so I didn't even notice it after a few minutes even with eczema. It stayed on all night, despite tears and sweat. He was also a great presence on a highly emotional day. He cracked jokes to keep things light, he stepped in as a shield: "she can't talk right now, can you ask someone else?", and was generally a positive, good energy throughout the process. He was super open to feedback (I changed up the style from the trial to the actual day) and was really good about making sure you were happy with the results. I loved everything about the experience, and I'd hire Jonathan again for future makeup needs! read more

I am so happy to have found Jonathon to do my hair and makeup the day of my wedding. I wanted a soft natural look and he did not disappoint. Being outta towner's he came to our hotel room which was so convenient and stress free. He even spent extra time with us recommending fun things to do in the city and his favorite restaurants. Jonathon was great with communication and so much fun to be with. We really feel so fortunate to have not just found an experienced artist but such an amazing person to be a part of our special day! Highly recommended for any occasion. read more

I was looking for someone to help with my hair and makup for some professional headshots. Jonathan came recommended by my photographer and he definitely exceeded ALL my expectations. We had an iterative conversation prior to the photo shoot where Jonathan asked for inspiration and we discussed the look I was going for. I cannot express how beautiful I felt when Jonathan was done and my pictures were incredible. I even posted a selfie on Insta and received a marriage proposal in response. What else can you ask for :) I highly recommend hiring Jonathan for your hair/makeup needs and I really cannot wait to work with him again!! read more

I worked with makeup artist Jonathan Reisfeld for the first time this weekend. I was very impressed with his professional manner, ability to work under pressure (we were racing to stay ahead of bad weather) and helpfulness. Getting head shots can be awkward, but Jonathan made it fun. I know my business will be better off now that I have professional images for my website. As a digital strategist who understands the importance of looking good online, I won't hesitate to recommend Jonathan to friends and clients. read more

I have used Jonathan for work and my own wedding, and I can't recommend him enough! I was first introduced to Jonathan when my video production team hired him to help with make up for some developer videos. I was always impressed at how easy he was to talk with, and how comfortable he made the interviewees feel when he was applying make up. Let's face it, most guys are not excited about wearing powder! However, as soon as they started chatting with Jonathan, they all relaxed and had fun. A year later my company decided to use a different production company for more videos. When I walked on site I immediately recognized Jonathan. It says something when two different production teams tell me that Jonathan is always their first call anytime they are planning some filming in San Francisco! I got married this fall and I hired Jonathan to do my make up and my sister's. From the get-go Jonathan was professional, helpful, and explained his process so I knew what I needed to prepare for, and what I'd expect the day of. My sister never wears make up and wanted to make sure she didn't feel too "made up". When I got to the hotel room after getting my hair done I was amazed at how natural her make up looked, yet with a slight definition that made her look gorgeous. Being the bride, I was clearly flustered, anxious and exhausted. When I sat down to have Jonathan start on my make up, he immediately read my "vibe", made sure people left me alone for a few minutes so I could get centered, and he made sure I ate food. He listened to what I wanted and he made me and my family and friends laugh a lot. I cannot count the number of compliments I received on my wedding day, and the pictures are fabulous. An extra bonus - the make stayed on all day/night long without getting "cakey". I highly recommend using Jonathan, and I'm looking forward to calling on him again. You won't be disappointed! read more

Need to look fabulous in a photo? Look no further than Jonathan Reisfeld (http://www.jonathanreisfeld.com/). I had to fulfill a request for headshots (a first) quickly and knew I needed a professional makeup artist. I was shocked when I saw myself in the mirror after Jonathan finished because I don't wear that much makeup. But the look translated as polished and professional - exactly what I'd requested (I'm a librarian. Please!) - in the resulting photographs. Not to mention I looked about a decade younger (see results in my profile photo). Jonathan was a joy to work with, which was a real bonus. read more

Jonathan did my makeup and hair for my engagement photos and wedding day as well as my moms makeup. He was prompt and really listened to me to help me achieve the look I wanted. He was a great to work with and helped me achieve a look that was me but at my best. Also he did my makeup early in the day as we had a city hall afternoon wedding and it lasted all night through my reception. He knows how to do your makeup so it will look beautiful in photos but not too overdone. Just what i was looking for for my wedding day look. I would definitely go to Jonathan again if I needed my makeup and hair done for something special. read more

My production company films interviews with high-tech corporate executives. I hire Jonathan to do light makeup and also "care and feeding" of egos, to help the interviewees relax and be themselves. Jonathan does a fabulous job in both areas. The makeup is spot on, not too heavy but enough to allow us to use closeups of people who decidedly do not have movie star looks. Jonathan makes sure that visual details such as collars, shirt buttons, and hair are just right, allowing me to focus on the interview and not worry about my subject's appearance. He also watches the shoot carefully and jumps in during pauses in the filming to readjust and touch up. However, the biggest contribution Jonathan makes is helping nervous executives relax. High-tech execs are used to being fussed over, and he can do that in a very natural and friendly way. I even sometimes ask him to "touch up the makeup" when there's really nothing wrong, to help the talent settle down and reduce his/her anxiety. He's also a great guy to have around, interacts well with the rest of the crew. In summary, Jonathan is a regular on my film crew--I don't leave home without him. read more

I loved hiring Jonathan Reisfeld for a big wedding industry networking event this past Monday. He was a pleasure to work with and he made it a fun and a happy time while doing our hair for the event. The hair was amazing and both the bride model and I received many compliments on our hair that evening. Jonathan has that magic touch! I would highly recommend that you hire him for any of your hair and makeup needs! He is professional, responsive and a talented hair and makeup artist! read more

I rarely write Yelp reviews, but had to leave a glowing one for Jonathan! He did hair and makeup for me, my Mom and my aunt on my wedding day and we could not have been happier with the result. Jonathan is incredibly talented and so much fun - everyone he touches just looks so stunning! Jonathan is detail-oriented, punctual and provides amazing service. He's extremely professional and is a phenomenal communicator - I never waited more than a few hours for an email back from him and he was so clear and reasonable about things like timing, trial requests, etc. I enthusiastically recommend him for all of your hair and makeup needs! read more

Jonathan did my hair and makeup for my recent wedding, and I'm so lucky he was available that day! He is professional, talented and a joy to work with. In addition, he made sure that I was doing fine throughout the process and was ready to take control of the room if I was getting stressed out from the buzz from friends and family. I love the way he made me look on such a special day, and he also made me feel very supported. Thank you, Jonathan! read more
