This is the 5 wine flight menu so you know what you are drinking when you drink it.

Tip: Go past the first parking sign near the tent and park closer to the big building to avoid walking a quarter mile back and forth. Tip: The entrance is at the big building - walk up the stairs and take the door on the right. We've been hitting a number of wineries recently, and I thought we should stop and and see what Jonathan Edwards Winery had to offer. They offered a 5 wine pour for $20 per person, plus tax. They were reasonable pours. No crackers are provided, so if you need something, they do have some you can buy. Seating is both indoors and outside. The person distributing the wines knew her products and provided a good introduction. She let us take the tasting menu with us, so we knew what we were drinking. You finish the glass in the middle, and then just go in sequence with the other wines, pouring them into the glass to try out.

Had a wonderful time enjoying their wines. I had the Pinot Gris, very refreshing & light. The others in the group had the Cabernet. Such a beautiful peaceful property with many inside or outside seating options. We are visiting family & will be back for sure. Staff were very helpful and welcoming.

3/29/23, We stopped in the Beautiful Jonathan Edwards Winery. Upon driving up the entrance hill, you'll see a "Wine sign". Specifically: A wine bottle and wine glass with a directional arrow. As you walk up to the winery, you'll notice a beautiful wrought iron grape railing. The inside of the winery is very attractive. The winery has inside and outside table seating. We sat outdoors overlooking beautiful stonewalls and vineyards. We shared a wine flight: 3 whites and 2 reds. We enjoyed the overall quality of all the wines. The flight was about $20. Our favs were the Napa Chardonnay and the Napa Merlot. Cheese and some prosciutto were for sale. Our server Melanie mentioned that the winery would start charging for plastic utensils. (Really?) Overall customer service was just fair. That's why I took one star off. However, I would stop back in the future. PS: We'll be sure to bring plastic utensils for our next visit. :D

My wife and I had a fun time stopping in at Jonathan Edwards Winery on a Thursday afternoon in September. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed wine outside on the back patio. We did a tasting which was ok, not great, for $20 each. After, we did enjoy a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio. If you're stopping here, my recommendation is to bring some cheese and crackers and order a bottle of wine.

My partner and I stopped by after a gorgeous day of tulip picking. We did a lovely tasting of 5 different wines (3 whites and 2 reds) and ended up getting a bottle of their pinot gris! The person helping us was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and kind. We were even able to purchase yummy cheeses and meats to enjoy with our wine! The area is stunning. It is large, scenic, and so very clean. I loved how calming the outdoor area was. I look forward to coming back!

Beautiful spot! Greatly ambiance. OK to bring snacks. Wonderful live music. Wine ok but pricey for quality.

I recently came here with my fiancé on a Thursday afternoon. We both did a wine tasting - none of the wines really impressed me, but I did like the Pinot Grigio the most. The weather was nice so we sat outside and enjoyed the scenery. I also enjoyed seeing the barrel room inside before leaving. I did notice some snacks available for purchase, but would suggest bringing your own. Overall, it's a nice enough winery to enjoy an afternoon with good company.

We visited during the week before Thanksgiving to try the wine and enjoy a day off. Tours and tastings are not available during COVID however The tasting room is open for purchasing wine. We were provided with a nice welcome and introduction to how Jonathan makes his wine using CA and #CTgrown grapes. We tried a bottle of Chardonnay which was tasty. The winery has an active music scene which has been closed down due to the pandemic.

Cheers!

What a gem in eastern Connecticut! This vineyard was recommended to me by a co-worker and we are so happy we listened! It was great! Due to Covid, they aren't having typical tastings, but we were able to go into the tasting room and try a couple of wines before buying. It was a gloomy and rainy day, but the sunny and friendly staff brightened the experience. We tried some whites and some reds and ended up loving the Napa cab. It happened to be $58 A bottle but it was lovely so we stayed and had a glass. We were told that the grapes come from a few different fields including the ones on the property. Well worth it to go by, and I'd recommend going in late spring or early summer when the vines are blooming.

Came on a Friday right around noon and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too busy. We were able to walk right up to the bar and get a tasting. For $15 you get to try 7 kinds of wine (4 white and 3 reds). They just released a rose which they said was really popular and they let us try. I'm usually red wine drinker but liked the whites here better. However, we didn't but any wine since none of them really blew us away. They have a daily free tour at 12 which I definitely recommend! My bf and I ended up being the only ones that wanted to do it so we essentially got a private tour. We got to see the vineyards and then got brought to their barrel room. Since we were a small group the tour guide actually let us try some of the wine straight from the barrel!! Overall a great experience with really good customer service. Would definitely recommend to others!

Wine Tasting!

Made it to Jonathan Edwards and it is one of the finest vineyard in CT. We got there early in the day for the tasting just to beat the crowd, based on the feedback from friends and online reviews, we wanted to ensure we enjoyed and were not rushed. It is true that the place was full in now time. They have sufficient seating in the front, the back deck, inside and only out in the open. We had a great day here and my favorite is the Cabernet. Definitely coming back.

Enjoyed a nice day in May with a flight and bottle. The vineyard was quiet with good service and nice seating area outside in the sun or under the patio. We didn't have any food.

Happy ladies

We are a large group of ladies (most from RI) who enjoy trying out new wineries. Jonathan Edwards Winery was a great destination. I highly recommend it. We brought our own food, sat out on the covered porch and ordered glasses of wine from the bar. Your server behind the bar was very knowledgeable about your wines and I was quite impressed. It was a lovely day and I ended up buying 2 bottles of my favorite red (2018 Merlot) and a bottle of Petite Sirah 2018 to take home to my husband.

Beautiful day for a glass of Chardonnay

We love this place, especially seeing concerts here (G Love & Matisyahu). We also love just sitting on the porch and enjoying the outdoors.

Kingdom of the Hawk is the sister winery to Saltwater Vineyard. The event was wonderful, we were treated to complimentary glasses of wine and cider (the cider was from the New England Brewing Company) accompanied by delicious catered hors d'oeuvres. We were able to explore the grounds at our leisure. The owners were present and they kindly stopped to chat with the visitors. The vineyard's exterior design exudes a charming modern barn aesthetic. While the interior has an industrial contemporary aesthetic, with polished concrete floors, steel beams, and a loft area with tables. The ambiance is reminiscent of its sister winery, Saltwater Vineyard. The vineyard has 2 parking lots, gender stalled handicap-accessible restrooms, and a beautiful ceremonial lawn. In conversation with one of the employees, I discovered that the wine is currently produced at Saltwater Vineyard. However, they will eventually combine the yields from both wineries in the future, and create wines for both vineyards. Given its ambiance, amenities, and scenic setting, I can easily see this place becoming a sought-after wedding venue and popular stop along the Connecticut wine trail. I definitely recommend visiting when they open to the public.

The vineyard has indoor and outdoor seating. We started out with a three wine flight ($22 per flight) from the custom wine flight: Seaport White, Sheer Chardonnay and Cab. Franc. The next wine flight was also from the custom wine flight: Riesling, Oak Chardonnay and Pawcatuck River Red. All the wines were very good. Thank heaven, the flights were in glasses. Our favorite was the Sheer Chardonnay. Normally, I don't like Un-Oaked Chardonnay, but this one was excellent. This baby came home with us. The gift shop has some very clever and unique wine related items. In fact, I thought this was the best gift shop in any vineyard I've visited. We purchased a towel, "Let's Drink Wine and Judge People". Customer Service was pretty good. As we were leaving, it appeared that the winery was having a music event on the grounds. Definitely will make a return trip to Stonington Vineyards in Stonington, Ct. Cheers everyone!!!

And honestly, you can feel the good energy when you walk in. Other reviewers rave about the atmosphere and service, and I get it. The team is warm, the space is inviting, and the whole experience feels very "local gem." But here's where the 3‑star reality sets in: the flavors all start blending together. For a cidery/meadery with such a big menu, I expected more range. Instead, most pours land in the same sweet‑leaning zone, making it tough to distinguish one from the next. After a few sips, everything felt like variations on the same theme. Not bad -- just not memorable. If you're new to cider or prefer sweeter profiles, you'll probably love it. But if you're hoping for bold contrasts, dry options, or something that really stands out, the lineup might feel a little one‑note. Still, the staff is great, the vibe is relaxed, and it's a fun stop if you're already exploring Westerly. With a bit more variety in the flavor profiles, this could easily jump to a 4‑star spot. Cheers

When I arrived she and her husband were having a very genial conversation with the owner Dave at the outdoor seating area. The vineyard is clearing some land and the entrance drive, at the time of my visit, was strewn with downed timber and a large dirt parking area at the end. There is a sign on the street pointing you into the driveway. Once the introductions were over Dave told us about the vineyards he has and the one's he plans to plant. Where he gets grapes from and how he produces his wine. We walked in to the converted barn which is beautifully decorated with a large bar in the center and comfortable seating areas around the perimeter. They have a rack of bottles ready to be sold and a gift box display. The day we went there were four or five wines available. Once a type has sold out, it's done for the season so those who know and like Dave's wine know when to head over to make their purchases. Some offerings are ready in Spring while others are not available until Autumn. I ended up purchasing two bottles each of three of the available wines. The Riesling is a bit dry and not too sweet. Lovely. The Cab had a nice 'full mouth' feel to it and a clean finish. I have been disappointed by other RI wine producers and to be honest I didn't have high expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. We also had an opportunity to meet Dave's wife and children. This is truly a family business. With each new arrival, Dave made a point to say hello, get their name, tell them his and pour them a glass. We sampled each of the available wines but others came in just to enjoy a glass. The atmosphere was such that everyone was chatty with each other even though we were strangers. It made for a very enjoyable visit. This vineyard is in the woods and the drive up is just beautiful along winding back roads. On a beautiful, sunny Saturday, it made for a very enjoyable day. If I could suggest just one thing it would be to offer a small snack. This may be a sticky wicket as they are a wine producer, not a restaurant and I'm sure that brings up a whole other set of laws. During our visit his 'intern' showed up with a spinach and pepperoni calzone which he offered all around. It was just delightful and I was very happy to have something to eat after sampling several wines. Maybe next time I'll just bring along a snack to share. I hope that's OK.
