I decided last minute to have a professional photographer take pictures at my husband's 50th birthday party. Jon was the first one to reply and very helpful from the beginning. His terms are straightforward (nothing hidden), and super reasonable. I was a bit worried about how the pictures will turn out until I met Jon. Jon is a courteous and professional individual, who works well with people of all ages. He walked in, looked at the layout and spots for good pictures, asked me few relevant questions and then took care of everything. He covered the event so well, that not once did I have to ask or remind him to do something we had discussed early on. And the end product is more than I hoped for. First, he shared the photographs earlier than what he had promised. Second, I could have spent a lot more and not recieved better pictures than those Jon took. I have to say that we are completely spoilt now and will most likely have Jon cover future events for us as well. Our photographer Jon was outstanding! From start to finish he was on point with every little detail pertaining to pictures. Between all the craziness from the start in our hotel room of getting ready to the ceremony & reception I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a photographer. We had the wonderful pleasure of hiring Jon as our wedding photographer. We originally saw him in action at a friend's 50th Birthday party 5 months prior, and was very satisfied with how her pictures came out. I was searching for a photographer for a New Jersey high school reunion from Virginia. I was just blown away by how easy it was to find a photographer on yelp. I posted my request for date and time and within six hours I had 4 responses. I chose Jon Takes Event Pics because of his reunion pictures with Scarsdale High School. If he could arrange 150 people for a spectacular shot he could do well above average with our small class. I was not disappointed. John is easy to work with, prompt, no hassle, knows his business, and replied with the pictures as promised. I hired Jon to take photos at my Wedding Rehearsal dinner this past July and I am so happy I did!! He truly captures the essence of the evening and not a moment was missed. He took tons of live action and posed pictures throughout the night. He made a point to capture all the different elements of the event from guests first arriving, group shots, toasts and many heartfelt in the moment shots. Hiring Jon as our wedding photographer was an excellent decision. During the ceremony, he worked meticulously to gather all the appropriate shots. He could set up both posed pics, then fade into the background at key moments to grab candid, easy-to-miss moments. In the 4 hour period we hired him for, he snapped over 500 pics. The next evening, after some light editing, we got the pics and they were gorgeous! It is clear Jon has a good understanding of light and composition, and was able to capture numerous stills and details, making excellent use of focus for intentional background blurs and doing some interesting wide-angle shots to fully appreciate the venue.
