I had been at this location years ago and enjoyed the subs. So after visiting my MIL at the hospital I stopped by for a quick dinner before my drive back home. I noticed right away the employee who took the order was wearing a dirty apron. I just figured he had a busy day so I continued with my order. I ordered my sub, which they cooked to order. The steak, cheese and onions sandwich was just ok. The first couple of bites I took the meat had grizzle in it and the quantity of filling seemed to be lacking. I was left with part of the sandwich that had no filling. The Sprite tasted chlorinated as well. As I was finishing my sub I noticed the employee going to clean the bathrooms with the same apron he was wearing at the front counter and because of this I will no longer return to this restaurant to eat. read more

The subs are always freshly prepared after you order. The fries are highly rated and the main reason is they cooked fresh once you order, no big batch setting under a heat lamp getting cold. The staff is also very professional and handles the lunch crowd at the drive thru or in the shop with easy. Inside is also clean and there is usually background country music playing but not to loud so you can have a conversation without yelling. It just good food and fair price. Please do not order from this place. The owner of this Jon Smith's sub shop is incredibly rude and obnoxious. They consistently make my food incorrect. Whenever I request a correction or a refund, they claim I can no longer order there because their employees failed to properly take my order the way I want it not the way they want. I never asked for mayonnaise on my subs, yet they still put it on them. I also asked for extra French fries on my DoorDash order, but they completely forgot about them. They then blame me for the oversight and refuse to allow me to order there again. Please avoid this place at all costs. Employees cannot comprehend, and the manager is unintelligent. read more

Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Always clean and kept up. At Jon Smith Lake Park, they treat you like family. The wait time on food is understandable for the quality of food you are waiting for. On the occasion that you go in during a busy lunch, they will have you walking out as soon as possible with a smile on your face. Small staff, so if you come back, you'll be sure to recognize a face, and they may even recognize you, which is always great. The fries are ALWAYS fresh (they drop them as ordered). Any of the bomb subs (steak bomb, burger bomb, tuna bomb) are the BOMB for real. The Cubans also make a delicious meal if you aren't all about the veggies. The BEST cold sub would definitely have to be the tuna. It's made fresh daily with celery and lemon. And if you aren't a fish person, the Italian cold cut is a great option as well.. you could even get it hot and toasted. read more

Two stars because the SECOND sandwich was made correctly. We originally asked for them to go light on The onions, but there was only one sliver of an onion. When we asked for extra onions on after looking at it, the person behind the counter just threw the sandwich in the trash with an attitude. They then proceeded to make the sandwich the way it should be made. The 1st one had very little meat and very little cheese. Maybe they thought we wanted them to go light on the cheese too of, lol! The guy cooking was OK although not talkative, the person taking the money and the one that threw the sandwich in the trash had no customer service skills at all. Went here for the first time the other day for lunch. A friend of mine told me to meet him here and give it a try. I love a good steak & cheese sub right off the grill. This place didn't let me down. The staff was extremely friendly. They knew my friend because he goes there to eat all the time. He told them that it was my first time and they went above and beyond to make sure I got something I was going to like and asked me a couple of questions of what I like/don't like. I ended up getting the cajun steak & cheese. It was really good. The steak was cooked perfectly. The price point is pretty reasonable as well. I will definitely go back. What I liked a lot was the cook came out from the back to ask me how I enjoyed my very first sub from them. That was really cool. I really did appreciate their customer service. I split an order of fries with my friend. They were really good. Had great flavor but they were a little on the flimsy side. I like my fries a little more crispy/well done so I know for a fact if I asked them to cook them crispy/well done they would have been PERFECT. I won't ding them for that because their customer service was great and at least I know for next time. I'll be back soon. read more

Today I went to get lunch w my brother to the Northlake location. We both stroll in and order and go to sit down and notice the temperature feels like we are in a sauna. We both say at the same time "whooo its hot in here what's going on" So I ask the manager what's going on w the AC and she tells us it's on and working. So I shake my head and go sit back down and we both begin to sweat. There is no reason it should be this hot in a small Resturant like this even a window ac unit from home depot could have had this place in the 70s. So I go up and ask again "is there any way to turn the temp down?" they tell me no, we aren't allowed to touch the thermostat. Are you kidding me? It's in the hi 80s in this place, I'll never step foot in that location again. Why in the hell wouldn't a employee be able to adjust the temperature when the store is closed off and basically has a stove top running fckn full blast all day? Someone at corporate needs to address this obvious BS rule that an employee can't touch the thermostat. The employees should be able to.adjust the ac to compensate for how hot the store is. Seems to me that the bottom line is the mighty corporate dollar bill. You won't catch me in there again. read more

We ordered 12 lunchbags to go on a boat ride. There were 6 Italian subs and 6 wraps with chips and cookies. The sandwich order was placed 2 days before the boat ride because we were there for a wedding the following day. The order was ready on time and everything was delicious and the order was correct. We even got a call that everything was ready as we were driving to pick it up.
