Only Dr. Jones diagnosed pseudoexfoliation and successfully performed cataract surgery. Since that time he has monitored my vision and prescribed drops to prevent glaucoma. In addition to his expertise, he is a very personable doctor. Although I have moved to the East Bay, I continue to drive back to Monterey to see the only ophthalmologist I trust. One other in Santa Clara whom I located in a search confirmed the diagnosis but I cannot locate him now. I like and trust Dr. Jones enough to make the long drive. He is at the Vantage Eye Center and another doctor, Bernardo, whom I saw was also very good. I have also referred a friend to them, who had shingles near his eye and the clinic worked with him to clear the problem.

I've visited both office locations for dry eye treatment and annual eye checkups…read more Writing because on multiple visits, I've overheard comments during conversations between the front desk ladies that were unprofessional in a healthcare setting. I cannot speak on whether these comments reflect any management awareness, but as a patient, it made the environment extremely uncomfortable to hear what I understood and perceived as carelessly ignorant. Living in California for a long time, these were not words I expected to hear and very inappropriate for the workplace let alone a "professional" clinic. The rest of my experience here has been great; amazing doctors and aides who have persistently helped me through my slough of issues, which makes this all the more unfortunate. I will not be returning and would strongly encourage a refresher of basic empathy, inclusiveness, and client-sided professionalism.
