A signature street delicacy in Los Baños, I daresay, the best serving of these chicken pops can be found at a makeshift shack along the famed Raymundo gate. Don't be deceived by the appaerance of the establishment though, as far as culture and travel goes, the best and most authentic of experiences come from the grittiest parts of the community. And in this case, it in fact holds true! At 20 pesos, you'll already get a small brown paper bag full. Drizzle these with their spicy vinegar and everything from there is just magic. Try not to eat too much though, unless you're not worried about getting a double bypass soon enough,

Well, remove the toy part and that's the Raymundo Gate at around 4pm onwards. Littered with all the heart stopping, yet scrumptious street foods you can imagine; you'd definitely find a good answer to the question hanggang saan aabot PhP 20 mo? Here the classics are all present: fishballs, squid balls, kikiam, kwek-kweks, cotton candy, dirty ice cream, corn with cheese, scramble - and I think we're just half way through. But among this myriad of delicacies, the one that will surely stand out the most is the little shack that sells Los Baños' own, proven (pronounced as praw-ven). These are basically deep fried chicken innards that are served looking like chicken nuggets. They're shoveled into a small, brown paper bag, drizzled with vinegar and you poke them with sticks. Sounds unusual? Well, they do, but hey as Andrew Zimmern would always say, if it looks good, eat it!

It was a delicious addition to our chicken with very thick, sweet, and crunchy skin plus subtly dry white meat. Fries: These had a crunchy coating with soft and hot potato to the core plus potato skin at the tips. Addiction was all in the crunch!

Since it's a mouthful, we Elbizens have since referred to it as Bahay Sisigan. Yo Apung Piping, thank you for sharing your life-changing Kapampangan Sisig! Now that I live in the Metro, whenever I encounter any sisig dish (be it chicken, bangus, pork, or whatevs) I can't help but snort derisively. No way any of them would EVER measure up. Sigh.

As a diner with a focus on Kapampangan cuisine, it surely isn't surprising that sisig is their forefront. Boasting of the best sisig in town, I surely wasn't surprised why they said so after a try! An affordable diner making sure to have you filled in 100 pesos or less, Apung Pipin's is a must try for those who are looking to dine without having to spend way too much. Just be sure to get some water ready since Apung Piping's classic sisig is packed with heat - lots of it!

A bit tricky to spot, the only way to find Ning's Thai is through spotting its sign right along the Grove. Don't be alarmed if what you see next is a tiny alley, since if you do, then you're in the right place. Just walk through it and at the end of that is (thankfully) some open space and a nice cozy house waiting for you - and that house is in fact Ning's Thai! Dining in this home-turned-into-diner offers a unique experience, mainly in the sense that it actually feels like you're a guest in their home. What to try? I highly suggest their Pad Thai and Pad Kra Kao, or maybe their Bagoong rice as well. But, be sure to get a ton of water though, since besides the heat of the food, the place in itself is stuffy!
