For me, this is both a magic-inspired place and a magical place. Once I step inside, I am instantly immersed in its spell, with its walls in different pastel shades, paper cutout-like towering trees, colorful chalk art (The art in the long chalk board on the wall changes. On one Christmas we went the art had a Christmas theme), decoupaged tables, and charming collectibles like masks and bright birdcages. And, there's the gift shop with, yes, magic wands ala Harry Potter, tarot cards and other magical items. And, just look at the menu - there's a shake called Love Potion #29, and an onion soup called Gayuma, among other things! My favorites are Wands In A Cauldron (fresh and crunchy fries in a mini-cauldron) and the Harry Potter-inspired Butter Brew, which is sweet with just the right kick. They also have special drinks just for Christmas, and my favorite is the spiked eggnog.

My friend ordered strawberry shortcrepe and was disappointed that the strawberry was a jam rather than fresh ones. Even then, the jam was minuscule. Instead, it had plenty of strawberry syrup. She liked the crepe itself and thought the strawberry ice cream was delicious. I ordered the Pinay crepe that had plenty of fresh mangoes and chocolate syrup. It did not come with ice cream so I ordered chocolate ice cream as a supplement. I enjoyed every bite because the crepe was warm and the right amount of supple. Surprisingly, it was not too sweet. Hubby ordered the mango crepe with Grand Marnier and coffee ice cream. He enjoyed it. Coming here every time we come to the Philippines has become our tradition. It is comfort food and the service is always excellent.

Also, price hasn't increased that much which is great and service has always been attentive. They serve their crepes on their signature blue and white plates and the interiors haven't changed much too. I always request them to make my crepe a bit crunchy to have more texture. Their coffee and their burgers are good too. Overall happy that this place is still doing well and that they've maintained consistency over the years.

I was in college then and my caffeine consumption was limited to cheap 3-in-1 "coffee"sachets. I didn't know any better, it was all I could afford and drinking it gave me a quick pick-me-upper, until I started working. I realized why good coffee was called good coffee and why bad coffee is merely a by-product of bad sugar and little caffeine. I learned how to be an economical caffeine connoisseur, this is why up to this day you will never find me buying coffee from those big chain cafes. The reason? And probably my greatest caffeine discovery in life: 18 Days Coffee Roaster. I never buy coffee from any other place. To do so, would be blasphemy as my taste buds have been doing the tango to its Special Blend for the past 5 years. I love it so much that I've made it my go-to pasalubong for family and friends that come home to Manila. Their Special Blend is a must-try. A blend of Arabica, robusta and barako, a cup alone is quite spectacular and you'll never want anything else. The price is excellent too, a medium-sized bag costs P275 and it can sustain 1 person for weeks. So, I say ditch those big coffee chain shops and buy local. Buy from 18 Days Coffee Roaster. Oh and the Manang that roasts the coffee herself is quite the charmer too. I recommend that you chat with her every time you visit.

At home in the SF Bay Area, Starbucks is the last option for coffee if there is nothing else available. It is basically dishwater compared to the elixir I've been drinking here for the last month in Manila. Been to several locations but we became regulars at this particular Starbucks in Westgate Mall, located just across the street, about a block away from our hotel. If they served this coffee at home, I'd go back to drinking coffee at Starbucks.

Alabang is slowly gaining more artisan coffee shops but since this is the closest and walking distance to us, this is where we usually end up going to. Interiors are bright, airy and spacious and this branch occupies two floors so it hasn't been difficult to find a table. They have a few parking slots on the side facing Audi while there are other parking spaces available in Westgate. The baristas are nice and friendly while some of them know hubby's go-to drink already -- Reserve Nitro Cold Brew. I tend to change my drink every time we come in though coz variety is the spice of life hahaha! Great place to hang-out, chit-chat and sip a cup of coffee. So glad this is so close to us while we're in town.

We got the regular-sized red bean bingsu. It came on a bowl that's good for two people. Depending on how much you eat, of course. Our bingsu has a scoop of strawberry ice cream, slices of watermelon, kiwi, pineapple sprinkled with corn flakes. I love it. I love how smooth the shaved ice was.
