the worst jollibee. ordered food at 1:52 pm and still waiting at 2:54 pm. saw our number pulled up ready for pick up and as I go up, worker says it will take up to 1 hour. makes no sense when we already waited for almost an hour. workers do not care and gave attitude specifically Syed. the staff is ill-equipped to handle busy hours and the lack of urgency to fill orders when there's chicken waiting to be packed shows that customers are clearly not a priority. I have never seen such incompetence in the fast food industry and I rarely ever write bad reviews. when you are walking past orders that can be packed, you're neglecting the #1 thing which is customer service. read more

Service is good and you get that Filipino warm hospitality. We always buy a bucket of chicken and it never fails to have undercooked fried chicken. I love their Chickenjoy but They should add a minute or two to their frying time. It's nasty getting to the innermost part of the chicken. I don't usually write reviews, but this experience was too disappointing to ignore. We love Jollibee and traveled a long way to eat here, only to wait almost two hours while others who ordered after us were served first. Despite being extremely hungry and managing a fussy toddler, we stayed patient and followed up multiple times. When our order finally arrived, it was incomplete. I brought it up, but all I got was a quick "sorry, we're busy". Definitely not the kind of service we expect from a brand we've always loved. read more

I'm honestly just super pissed we don't have a Jollibee in Atlanta - I feel like I would be super popular... because I have only visited Chicago twice in my life and have been here twice. Located inside an Asian grocery store, this Jollibee is perfect for pre- or post- shopping. I know this isn't any sort of authentic Filipino food but that fried chicken and spaghetti is out of this world! The fried chicken is one of my favorite fast food fried chickens ever, super crispy and juicy! I don't even need hot sauce or the gravy to pair with it. The spaghetti is a little sweet for me but I still can't stop myself from downing the entire container of spaghetti. AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THOSE PEACH MANGO PIES GOOD GOD. This Jollibee location on Elston is basically embedded in the Seafood City food emporium. It seems like a good fit, as both establishments are quite busy and deservedly so. My love and I recently ordered a bucket of Chickenjoy via a special online app deal. Yes we received a total of ten pieces of fried chicken for a mere $10. It was certainly frenzied in there on a Sunday so we received our food about 15 minutes after the expected time, but all's well. We wound up with 11 pieces of chicken, so the deal turned out to be even better. We selected a split of pieces with regular and spicy seasonings - it's nice that you can order that way. The spicy pieces are tagged with little "spicy" flags and have a slightly darker coloring due to the seasoning - very crispy and yummy. We also received two cups of brown gravy, which we did not use that much with the chicken but tasted great with subsequent meals at home. We also ordered a fried peach mango pie because you have to do it - a terrific, sweet treat. read more

I was visiting from out of town and had heard great things about Jollibee's fried chicken. Had it not taken 1 hour 20 mins to get my food, maybe I would have felt more positively about my experience. There was a line out the door, but we figured it was a good sign. The line was slowly moving, but once we made it into the threshold of the restaurant, a worker locked us out stating there were too many people inside. We were stuck there for ~30+ mins after the line inside went down to zero and many people had left with their to-go orders. In the meantime, only people with online orders were allowed entry. People from the outside line started poking their heads in wondering what the hold-up was because the line had stopped moving and hardly anyone was inside. When we were finally allowed inside to order, I had to clarify my order multiple times to the lady at the front counter because she kept putting the wrong items in. We waited another 15 mins mins or so before our order was ready. We were called up and only our sides were ready so they told us to wait with half our items bagged up while the chicken was made. After another 10 mins, the rest of our order was ready even though half our order was cold at this point. As mentioned, all told it took us 1 hour and 20 mins to get our food. Management needs to figure out a better system to accommodate so many orders. It was ridiculous to wait that long at a fast food establishment. Food: The chicken that came out hot and fresh was crunchy and delicious. The mango peach hand pie was no longer warm, but it was still crispy. I enjoyed that flavor more than that of other fast food dessert pies. The mashed potatoes left something to be desired and the gravy was so-so. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice.... Well, I really been trying to come here for the last 5 years. I've been to the Jollibee in Manila, and it was OK. Not really a fan of spaghetti with my fried chicken, but wanted to give this place a try. Really wanted to. Twice. Each time, the line for this place was super-long, which I get, because the food must be good. Each time though, I would wait in line for 15-minutes, to finally get to the cashier, only to THEN be told, the wait time for the food is 45-minutes. Why can't you put a sign or tell me this PRIOR to waiting in line. I get that us Americans love our food, and we want it now, but c'mon yo. In either case, I thought the first time was a fluke, but now it's happened twice. So I guess the moral of the story is, either I've been super-unlucky, or be prepared to wait for a bit to get your Jolly spaghetti or burger steaks. Very disappointing. 1st time ever at a Jollibee. Had some good expectations. Coming in at 1PM you'd still figure food would available. Palabok was already out. Well how about spicy chicken? Out. Fine, just make a chicken sandwich with no mayo and a 2 piece chicken meal. After waiting 30 mins, wonder where the order is. Still not ready. Had to ask for our drink cups when they should have been offered up immediately especially with what turned out to be a nearly 50 min wait. Finally get the order. After all that there was f'n mayo on the chicken sandwich which my kid specially asked no mayo. You think we'd wait for a replacement, hail no.... Place is poorly managed. The workers are trying their best but can only be as good as their poor management. Horrible experience. I heard delivery drivers showing up to pick up spicy chicken only to be told it is not available. I was not the only disappointed customer. Some suggestions: 1) it's Saturday, stock food appropriately, 2) use some sort customer number system where customers can see where their order stands (like a now serving sign at McDonalds, 3) put a sign saying it's more than a 45 min wait or some communication to let you know the wait was long (I would have left, and not left a negative review). No real flavor not even on the spicy chicken sandwich which had fresh jalapeños, I didn't even get flavor from that. The spaghetti has a bit of sweetness. The mashed potatoes lacked flavor with bland gravy. Fries are thin like McDonald's but soft due to saturation of oil. The pineapple drink was good. Peach mango pie -flaky but OILY and runny! 06/18/21 - BRING IT!!!! THE CHICKEN SANDWICH WAR IS ON. Popeyes started this with their delicious chicken sandwich, for a mere $3.99, now everyone wants a piece of the action. As many of you may or may not know Jollibee's is a Filipino franchise and one of the latest to join the fray trying to get a piece of the chicken sandwich war. Lately I have been on a mission to try the competitors chicken sandwiches. Today I went to Jollibee's to try their entry into the competition. Im sorry to say that the sandwich fell woefully short. First of all the picture on the menu board portrays a plump piece of chicken covered in a crispy crust. This reminds me of a scene from "Falling Down" where Michael Douglas is looking at the image on the menu verses what was actually served. Sadly many places embellish their photos on the menu board & don't really represent what is actually served. What I received wasn't even close. The breading on the chicken was lacking & didn't have the crispy crunch of Popeyes or Burger Kings version. As always I get the spicy version over the original version, but even this was lacking w/one tiny splotch of spicy sauce (the sandwich was dry). One area where it was better was they actually added 2 slices of jalapeño peppers. This would have been better w/a little more sauce & a few more jalapeño peppers on it, but even then the piece of chicken was sadly flat & lacking. So far based on the Chicken Sandwiches that I have tried (all w/the same $3.99 price point). The $3.99 is your basic fried chicken. The latter 3 all offer a deluxe version w/tomatoes & lettuce but to be fair and compare apples to apples I stuck w/the basic sandwich * Popeyes & Burger Kings chicken sandwiches top my board. Had to try this place again since the last time I had it was years ago in the Philippines. Wasn't really wanting fried chicken so we opted for the yum burgers. Also got a side of the fries and the adobo rice. The burger was subpar. It was well-flavored with the taste of relish and maybe it was cooked with onions? Tasty but nothing to rave about. The fries and rice were actually not bad. Not salty or anything. The fries had a good crunch to them! The rice really tasted like it was cooked in the broth of adobo chicken. Interesting! But not enough for me to love it. Why the 4 stars? They were inefficient. We waited 20 minutes for our food. While the line wasn't long when we got there, it got longer while we stood in the room waiting for our order to be called. And so we're many others. How long had everyone else been waiting? Hmm, this was our first try of this Filipino fried chicken franchise.  We tried a carryout order of their $24 family deal which was a 10 piece family bucket with a side of 3 peach-mango pies.  We only got this much chicken on a first try because the wife really wanted to try their pies.  We got the chicken half original and half spicy.  Overall, I'll go with 3 stars for this deal with the chicken at about 2.5 stars and the overall meal rating saved by the peach-mango pies which were quite nice.  The 3 peach-mango pies would alone go for about $8, so the 10 pieces were valued at about $16.  They were all dark meat pieces also, so are on the pricey side relative to their numerous competitors.  The bucket came with a couple containers of a light brown gravy-like sauce.  I had the chicken with the sauce because it was there and presumably traditional, and it didn't hurt anything.  Though we waited for 6 minutes on a fresh batch of spicy for our order, and it was warm, the crispy skin and chicken simply didn't come out tip-top fresh, not 4-5 star worthy anyway.  The seasoning also tasted a bit different than any other franchise as may be expected, but it tasted something that seemed artificial for lack of a better word. Unlike numerous reviewers, we had no issue with the wait time on our order.  No complaints on trying any new franchise, and we're glad we did, but we'll be passing on this chain in the future. read more

Went in the evening time on a Monday and there wasn't a line. Only 1 person was ahead of me. They were however, out of yum burgers and halo halo sadly. Not too big of a deal but I did notice that this was the only restaurant that didn't pack with any napkins or utensils. They also forgot our side order of adobo rice. I would be understanding if there was a long line out the door but considering there was only 2 of us inside. But I get it, it happens and with everything going on. I just think maybe they should check the bag and receipt before handing them to the customer. I did go back inside shortly after noticing. The guy took a look at my receipt and gave me 2 even though I only ordered 1 which was nice. Haven't had Jollibee in a long time and the spaghetti was exactly as I remembered it. Hot and fresh and the chicken was juicy. Can never go wrong with that combo. Their adobo like a few others have pointed out is bland. My bf said it tasted as if it had fish in it. I should add, this was his first time ever having Jollibee lol He was surprised to find hot dog slices in the spaghetti lol He still enjoyed it, success! First the burger steaks have shrunk compared to their photos. Instead of a McD burger size patties they're more like White Castle's. The rice quality is good. Not too much water during cooking process. You can still see the individual grains. I hate it when the grains look smooshed like suman or lugaw I'm sensitive to too much salt. The patties and the gravy are not overly salty. They can be eaten by themselves or with a spoonful of rice per bite Maybe a touch of fresh sprig of parsley on top would make it 4.5 stars. BTW. Filipino fast food-chain fried chicken, here in Chicago is a plus in my mind. I actually was fairly surprised how good the chicken was. During this Corvid times, I was able to order and get the bucket of chicken fast. They had two flavors, spicy or mild. The spicy was good and they had little toothpick flags showing the spicy. Every chicken order you get a small container of gravy. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoy fried chicken. There are plenty of parking and during the Corvid, you can only enter on street level and not from the supermarket. read more

I used to live in Forest Glen and am so sad they didn't have this here when I did (it was a Kmart!). Now that I live a good 30 minute drive away, I still crave the bee and we order it to be delivered if we can't make it out there. We did make the haul once, but the seating is very limited - beware! The sink is a foot away from the urinal with no partition so to wash the fried chicken off my hands I have to squeeze past some guy taking a leak to get to a dirty sink with garbage in it - totally unacceptable. Quality fast food at a good price. I got the spicy Chickenjoy with rice and really liked it. The chicken was a bit greasy but that didn't bother me too much. The seasoned skin is where it's at, but it would've been even better if the skin didn't fall off the meat so easily. The C1 combo I ordered comes with 2 pieces of chicken, a drink (either soda or pineapple juice), a side, and gravy (which I didn't end up using much of). I've come here before and ordered the chicken and spaghetti combo but wasn't a fan on account of the spaghetti sauce being sweet (I won't hold that against them though because that's the Filipino way as I understand it). The restaurant has a solid amount of seating but could be cleaner. The location is a bit on the outskirts of the city, but it's obviously perfect if you're shopping for Asian goodies at Seafood City. :D read more

The oh so famous Filipino fast food chain serving just about everything from sweet spaghetti to fried chicken to Filipino breakfast in the AM to burgersteaks to sweets to shakes and palabok (traditional Filipino pancit). While it may not be as good as mom's cooking, for fast food... it's not bad and it's fast and cheap. This one's located within the Seafood City and can be accessed from the parking lot. My fiancee kept bugging me to stop by here to grab something while we were shopping for groceries in Seafood City since she has seen and heard all about it via Buzzfeed. While for her, our two piece chicken joy with a side of gravy and fries were a "dream come true" for me it was just business per usual. I think my first experience at a young age was ordering a burger to only find the patty was made of meatloaf (FYI when I was younger, I hated meatloaf). Thus growing up I didn't care much for Jollibee. However, several trips back to the Philippines growing up and having my cousins take me and show me the ropes, I can say that the chicken joy is where it's at. I always prefer a side of rice with my chicken joy to smoother everything with that side of gravy.
