I had never taken a pottery class and was so excited to learn the ropes. There are 10 wheels here, so our group of 10 was able to arrive a little early, drink wine and eat some snacks we brought before learning the ropes of ceramics. Victor was our instructor and he was amazing! He first did a demonstration on how to work with the clay and start to make your piece. Then he helped us to create our own pieces. We got to make 3 different things. One item is included in your class price and you can purchase the other 2 for just $8 each. It's a hands on experience but so awesome to learn a new skill and get to be able to take your creation home. I will definitely look into more classes as I truly enjoyed my experience with the class.

The day before my first class, I got a call saying it was canceled due to low enrollment. That's on them, not me. What made it worse? When they called to inform me of the cancellation, they told me the 4% credit card fee was non-refundable and that it was their policy. Except it's not. Their own written refund policy clearly states that if they cancel a class due to low enrollment, they will issue a full refund. They straight up lied to my face. It took my husband calling back and calling them out on it before they finally honored what was written in their own policy. $300 is not cheap, and a business that misrepresents its own refund policy to shortchange customers is not one I can trust or recommend. Really bummed, because I was looking forward to the class and genuinely wanted this to work out.

The value is great when getting things on sale definitely worth it! The service was good as well even though we didn't ask for any help but the cashier was friendly. The founders of this privately held company are staunchly Christian, Hobby Lobby isn't open on Sundays to allow their employees time for church and family, the company has been accused of financially supporting anti-LGBT causes and issues, and its stores being void of items pertaining to other faiths or religions aside from Christianity. This is the first time I've been to one of their stores, and I came here primarily because they were advertising a 40% off sale for a specific item I was looking for. This Hobby Lobby location is large, and quite frankly I think I spent nearly an hour just walking up and down the aisles and perusing all they had for sale. It's kind of akin to Michael's, with a bit of JoAnn Fabrics and even an amount of Home Goods sprinkled in. This store carries an array of merchandise from seasonal items to fabrics to lots of stuff for hobbyists to home decor. I ended up finding some fabric I needed and a cheery, outgoing woman was there to cut it to length for me and give me a hand-written charge slip to give the folks when I was ready to check out and pay. While it's obvious who this company is owned by after seeing the the amount of Christian items for sale, the church hymns playing in the store (I recognized "A Closer Walk With Thee" playing in the background at one point while I was shopping) and even some decor items that obviously cater to a specific segment of the population (see posted photos), I ended up buying a few items I found here. My primary critical comments would be that they didn't have enough checkout lines open for the amount of people who were lined up to pay. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, Hobby Lobby tends to offer sales fairly often, but those 40% off "sales" seem to reduce the prices marked on the various items in this store down to the amount they should normally cost in reality.

Those who know me know that I am addicted to buying fabric and I'm always looking for new places. I found this place through an Internet search and off I went. It is located in a very busy shopping plaza in Doral. Drivers around the parking lot are not very courteous and I witnessed a few "almost accidents" One must exercise caution and keep their eyes peeled when driving in this parking lot. The store itself it's not that big, narrow and long. It does have a lot of fabric. They have ryons, lycra, brocade, polyester, cotton, upholstery etc.. A good variety. It is run by two sweet old ladies that every time I brought something and set it on the counter to purchase, they would talk about what they could do with it, what they saw people doing with it, and what would look good made with it. It was the cutest thing. Then they would of course ask me what I intended to do with it and then proceed to talk about it for a bit. I would've taken more pictures if I wasn't so distracted by them. I loved it. The fabric seemed to be organized by price more than by type. Although all brocades and upholstery were in the same area. All other fabric seem to be arranged by price. I was told by the ladies who I think are also the owners, that the store has been there for the past 43 years. That is actually incredible. I don't know how much fabric people actually buy. I know now with all of the DIYers out there, and the mask craze last year, more fabric is being sold now. Hopefully this will help all these little brick and mortar places. I am very happy with my purchases and with the service. If I was not in such a rush, I would have stayed longer to hear these interact more.
