Rita has retired, but I expected the level of expertise to be on par to my experience in the past. How disappointing! They "repaired" this zipper on a Love ShackFancy dress. The workmanship is shoddy. They even damaged the fabric. This is a 500.00 dress that is now unable to be worn. Please be cautious and check the work! My daughter lives out of town so she didn't discover the issue until she went to wear the dress.

The current operator can't speak English well. I brought in a suit and a sport coat to be altered to fit me. She gave me the price of $60 for for each jacket and $30 for the pants and I agreed. I said that in addition I would like suspender buttons put in the pants and asked if she could sell me dress suspenders .She said yes and said that would bring the price up from $150 to $275. I agreed. When I returned the 2 jackets didn't fit and there were no buttons or suspenders. I left them with her to correct this. When I returned she had added suspender buttons to the pants but there were no suspenders provided. The suit jacket fits okay and the brand new sport coat from Joseph Banks still doesn't fit well. I don't know if the language barrier is feigned or real, but it is bad.

I ordered my dress after trying on a sample, and what arrived at my house fit perfectly from the waist down, but the chest area and shoulder strap were made for a completely different individual; the top did not fit me *at all.* I called Mia to set-up an appointment for alterations and was taken immediately upon arriving at my scheduled time. She confirmed the dress was "three sizes too big" on top and that it needed a lot of work. After pinning all the areas she thought needed to be taken in, I was still dissatisfied with the shoulder strap. Mia offered me a suggestion on how to fix this, which modified the loop of the strap, but which made everything lay much flatter. I told her to proceed. The alterations cost as much as the damn dress did, but I am not surprised by that fact because it truly was the most ill-fitting dress I've ever tried on. What Mia returned to me a month after our first consultation was perfect! It fit like a glove and no further adjustments were needed. I would totally use Mia again for any adjustments, big or small!

I drove an hour to the shop and when I got there, I had no idea where to begin and wasn't offered very much assistance. I finally decided on a skirt, top, and scarf. I left the top there to be altered on June 25 (included in the price) and was told it would be ready by July 10. Tarla hastily took my measurements but was very distracted while doing so. I was out of town then, so I called on July 15 to ask if it was ready. They said it was but that they would be closed on Monday when I wanted to come. They would however be open on Tuesday. I went on Tuesday, July 20 and Tarla was not there. I believe her husband was the one in the shop and he found my top. When I tried it on, it didn't even fit, the hooks wouldn't meet in the back, and it was too tight in the arms. He attempted to fix it but told me she would be back in half an hour. When she finally returned I must have tried the top on 10 more times. She finally removed the bra pads inside the top at my insistence but refused to put metal eyes for the hooks, instead leaving mismatched and uneven string. I told her I was nervous they would break and she left them. She never apologize for my troubles. I was there for an hour and a half. There were also two other customers that came in while I was there and their garments were not finished when the should have been. They were also clearly frustrated. When I returned home and tried the top on for my family, it was clear that it still didn't fit me correctly. The strings for the hooks were already falling apart and were uneven, and it needed darts to fit me properly. I am not driving another hour each way to get this fixed, since she wouldn't listen to my requests before. The wedding is in a week and I have gone to another tailor and am paying additional money to correct her mistakes. This is unacceptable as I spent close to $200 in the shop. While I appreciate altering being included, it is not quality work. There were many different colored threads used that didn't match and scraps of threads all over the garment. Please keep this in mind if you are planning on altering any totems, they will be made to fit, but not tailored to you.
