Wow I called and I explained that I just drove 25 minutes to a place that said they wouldn't service my bra alterations I'm asking for. I'm just asking are you able to fix bra hooks I've already purchased what's needed I just need it put on / in the guy was so rude and said well could I come. I said yes I probably won't make it before you close I just really wanted to make sure you've done this before prior to me coming and wasting more gas and time. He proceeds to tell me if I don't want to come then don't come. Like excuse me ?! I'm simply asking have you or could you fix bra hooks why was it so hard to say yes or no ? My only guess is because he is lazy. He asked me how soon do I need them. I told him it was no rush i just want to ensure they can be done, I needed that clarity. I love Ann's tailoring, Ann has done a phenomenal job on the endless dresses and pants I have brought to her. She has done some complicated alterations on dresses, including formal bridesmaid dresses that did not fit me correctly. She is often very friendly and helpful. Sometimes I am trying to decide on the length of my hem, whether it may be too short or too long and I have found recently that she does not seem as patient as before. However, I often come before closing, after work, so I can understand that after a long day. She has also helped me in a pinch, when I needed something altered quickly and I really have appreciated that! Her prices I would say are reasonable, not cheap. Maybe a bit pricey but not as much as some tailors. I would definitely recommend her! read more

I've had multiple garmets altered here over the years and have had mostly positive experiences. Friendly service and solid work. Today, however, I brought back a dress that wasn't altered as we had discussed and requested that a change be made. They wanted to charge me again and refused to correct the mistake without additional payment. I had already paid almost $100 for the dress to be altered in the first instance. The lack of customer service was appalling, especially towards a long standing customer. I will not use this business again and recommend you think twice before coming here. If there is an issue, they will try to charge you for making it right. read more

When I went in to have my skirt shortened for a very important show, Ann was pinning it and suggested "high low". I told her that I wanted it to hit my knee all of the way around. When I picked it up, it was on the hanger and looked to be "high low" she reassured me that my butt would hold it up and it would be even. Does this look even to you? $54 for tailoring a skirt incorrectly and not as requested. The back part was what I wanted all around at ONE length. The entire suit is now ruined as you can't add fabric back once it is cut off. I had bought the suit specifically for Westminister and did not have time to buy a suitable replacement. I took this black sweater to have the holes in the elbows repaired on 6-12-21. I thought it would be a simple repair. I was told it would be ready on 6-17-21, it was not, which was fine. I understand that she may have been busy. When I came back on 7-2-21 I was disappointed to see that this repair was done so poorly. She used blue thread on my black sweater and it looked as though she rushed to complete the work. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

Anne does a GREAT job. She has done so much work for us. I recently bought a shirt at a consignment shop that was beautiful but the arms were way too long. Tough to alter because she had to cut the material to shorten them. Well worth the money to make the sweater perfect. She also repaired a 80 year old wool jacket from Villanova U that had great sentimental value. It had holes all over it. Anne fixed all of them (like 25) and I picked it up and it was like new. She saved the jacket. She knows how to do everything! Use her. You'll be very happy. She is so nice too and has the alteration ready very quickly and probably can do a rush job if needed. read more

I called around finding pricing from tailors all around the main line for just a simple hemming of a pair of jeans. Ann told me $12 for a hem. I was ecstatic to find a tailor around here that was the same as my little back door place in center city philadelphia (where I lived before moving back to the area I grew up in). When I got there she told me $35, which is fine but steep for a 2" alteration on a pair of jeans. I went back bc a family member told me they would do it. I came back about 15 minutes later to retrieve my jeans. Her partner had cut into them as soon as I asked for them back so I had no choice but to leave them and Ann's response was "next time" Yea ok sure how about next time you don't give false expectations. Can't say I'll be back or recommend this place to people. What a sham read more

I wouldn't go anywhere but Ann's Tailoring. Her work is consistently outstanding, she usually finishes sooner than expected, and she's reasonably priced! What more could you want from a tailor? Especially one who is a master of her craft! She has taken garments in, let others out, hemmed pants and skirts, removed shoulder pads, added linings to sheer dresses, done stain removal and standard dry cleaning and I am always impressed! Phenomenal tailoring and seamstress. I brought several pairs of favorite jeans here with tears in between the legs (I just couldn't get rid of them). I recently took a bridesmaid dress here two weeks before the wedding. I was assured that the time was no issue and that my dress would be hemmed and taken in by the time that I needed it. Two weeks later, I returned to pick up my dress. I was in a rush, so I stupidly did not take the time to try it on. Later that day when I tried it on, it was obvious that it had not been hemmed. I took it back to the shop, where the man working assured me that it had been hemmed, however he told me I could come back later in the day to talk to the lady that worked on it. Later in the day she apologized because she had not, in fact, hemmed it To make a long story short, I ended up having to drive back and forth four times in one day to ensure that it was completed correctly and on time. It also was absurdly expensive ($75) for a relatively simple dress. I ended up giving this shop two stars because they were very nice and apologetic about the situation and when the dress was finished she had done a lovely job on it. Based on the glowing reviews (thanks Yelp reviewers), I took a couple of dresses and a Nicole Miller tafetta ball skirt to Ann. As reported, Ann is like a breath of fresh air. As delightful as you can imagine. Ann was able to rush one of the dresses through - the alterations were done with perfection. Growing up, my German mother used to make all of our dresses and much more. Nothing less than perfection was and still is her way - I can see that Ann is quite on par with my mother's tailoring skills, which is the highest compliment I could give. Dropping off some of my husband's pants for tailoring today. Looking forward to seeing the results soon. read more

I had a gown hemmed for my son's wedding. The hem was fine but the top of the dress was creased because it must have been hung against another garment. As soon as I got home, I noticed the wrinkle and brought it back to the shop. The woman was very unapologetic and she told me she only pressed the part she hemmed. I was visibly upset and she gave me no assurance that she could or would fix the garment. She even tried to blame it on the manufacturer. I over reacted and was emotional because it was my son's wedding but she was rude and I will never use her services again for any important event. There is another tailor Berwyn Tailor and Dry Cleaner at 146 Paoli Pike who is wonderful! Please do not use this Tailor. read more

May 2021 I finally decided to go back to the seamstress in my building after having two jackets altered in 2019. The seamstress in the "mall area" of my building has done alterations (sleeves too long) for me many times and I've been satisfied. Now I see there's a new seamtress on site but I figured she'd be able to shorten my sleeves (vents, 4 buttons one jacket with contrasting button hole stiching). She looked at the sleeves and said she couldn't. I can sew and probably could do this myself but I wanted to keep the vents and I thought a professional would do a better job. This seanstress didn't even know about a button-hole foot! The buttons that run up the sleeves have contrasting color button hole stitching. Okay so I decided to go to Ann's Tailoring. I've pass it many times as I've shopped in Gateway. I deciided to try. Well I got the same story. The seamtress at Ann's took one look at my jacket (s) and said she coun't shorten the sleeves! I gave 2 stars because I couldn't rate Ann's Tailoring on a finished garment because she couldn't do a "simple" sleeve shorting! I went on line to YouTube to see how a sleeve shorting is done. After watching the video I thought maybe Ann's Tailoring and the seamstress in my building need to review some YouTube videos on sleeve alterations. I've read the 5 star ratings and can't understand why I couldn't get this alteration done. read more

I love Ann. She is the sweetest, cutest, and most caring lady! Her prices are reasonable and her shop is easy to get to. I have only taken a few of my items to her, but she has done a fantastic job with all of them. I had pants hemmed, a dress taken in on the sides, and a dress hemmed at the bottom. The only downfall to one of my dresses was that she couldn't keep this beautiful design at the bottom since so much had to be taken off. I don't have much experience with alterations so I'm not sure if she can handle super complex pieces, but as far as I know she's amazing. I'll be going back with every clothing item that needs altering. I also legitimately love just seeing her because her wonderful bubbly personality makes me happy haha read more

Hands down the best service i have received IN MY LIFE. I live across the country and my plane was leaving in a couple hours to return to new mexico. I told them my aunt would pick it up sometime and mail it to me when it was done. They said no problem we ll do it before your plane and I didnt even ask them to because I thought it was literally impossible. Like another reviewer mentioned I took a bridesmaid dress here to have a small alteration done, but when I came to pick it up she didn't even start it ! She assured me it would be ready by Wednesday, but when I came to pick it up Thursday morning on my way to work the man told me it wasn't ready yet . She told me she would need at least two hours to complete the alteration (which I didn't have time for ). Needless to say I will be wearing my bridesmaid dress without the alterations I needed. Do not take any garments here that you need altered in a timely fashion ! I wish I would've listened to the other reviewer who experienced the same issue as I did. They could've at least given me the courtesy of a phone call to tell me that the garment wouldn't be ready by the promised date. read more
