I went to get only a hem, and she quoted me $80. I paid half via Venmo which was flexible. During my 2nd fitting, I decided I wanted a bustle but I was not expecting the price to DOUBLE. She then quoted me $160 and I asked her "how much to bustle a gown?" And she said "well, I steamed it too and I'm charging for each fitting and my time". I mentioned how she's just making up prices as we go. Plus, I never requested a steam, but apparently I had to pay for that too. I already had enough going on so I just paid her another $40 and agreed to pay the rest at the final fitting. Her studio needs some upkeep. It was dusty, floors needed a mop, and her bathroom doesn't look or feel clean. Would be nice if she had some empathy for brides wanting to protect their special gown. She has cats and it contributed to the aroma of her studio. I asked her if she can wash her hands while handling my gown, no response from her. Some text messages she did not respond to, she just left me on read. It would be nice if she sent out pick-up notifications or something to improve her customer service. But it's a small business. I recommend you keep track of everything and also take photos, if you're working with Basia.

I took the dresses to two other Broomall / Newtown Square tailors and asked how much they would have charged me (without letting them know how much Young's charged me) and it was between $125 - $150. The woman at Young's tried to rationalize the cost of what she charged but at the end of the day, it was highway robbery. My fault for leaving them with Young's since she did gave me a price when I dropped them off. After thinking on it for two days after I had dropped them off, I went back to retrieve them but the work had already been done. Note that it was not a rush job. I would not recommend them what-so-ever and will never return. Something like this makes me truly sad.

She confirmed the dress was "three sizes too big" on top and that it needed a lot of work. After pinning all the areas she thought needed to be taken in, I was still dissatisfied with the shoulder strap. Mia offered me a suggestion on how to fix this, which modified the loop of the strap, but which made everything lay much flatter. I told her to proceed. The alterations cost as much as the damn dress did, but I am not surprised by that fact because it truly was the most ill-fitting dress I've ever tried on. What Mia returned to me a month after our first consultation was perfect! It fit like a glove and no further adjustments were needed. I would totally use Mia again for any adjustments, big or small!

The current operator can't speak English well. I brought in a suit and a sport coat to be altered to fit me. She gave me the price of $60 for for each jacket and $30 for the pants and I agreed. I said that in addition I would like suspender buttons put in the pants and asked if she could sell me dress suspenders .She said yes and said that would bring the price up from $150 to $275. I agreed. When I returned the 2 jackets didn't fit and there were no buttons or suspenders. I left them with her to correct this. When I returned she had added suspender buttons to the pants but there were no suspenders provided. The suit jacket fits okay and the brand new sport coat from Joseph Banks still doesn't fit well. I don't know if the language barrier is feigned or real, but it is bad.
