I went to the The Tailor Shop to have a black tie designer dress shortened. Giang ( pronounced Yang) Pham wanted to retain the integrity of the design and just putting up the hem would not, in her opinion, give the same finished look. Doing it the "right way" required dismantling the lower half of the dress. She did this expertly and her finishing was impeccable. I am impressed by her skill and her integrity. We needed major last minute alterations for a televised event for my daughter. I went to several places, and no one would even consider helping me because I needed the outfit the next day. I went into The Tailor Shop, and Yang not only listened to my plea but had my daughter try on several outfits to help determine which one would be best to do. The first outfit needed major reconstruction, but Yang pinned it up anyway--never saying that she couldn't do it by the next day. We moved on to the next outfit, and it turned out to be the one we all unanimously thought looked best and would be easiest to alter, so we stopped there. Yang beautifully altered the garment, even adding cups underneath the lining. She went above and beyond my expectations. Just the fact that she even CONSIDERED doing the outfit that would require so much reworking (in under 24 hours!) gained her THIS customer for life. She was so friendly and willing to help us from the second we walked in the door, even though I could see she had a ton of work waiting on the rack behind her. She turned my very stressful situation into a "no problem." It's great to have Giang back at this shop. While she does outstanding "conventional" tailoring (hemming, tapering, etc.) and can be trusted with your most expensive items I really rely on her design and creative services. She's helped me with hand pick-stitching for high-end items, she rebuilt a coat for me with a completely different type of collar, and she can create custom items based on inspiration pieces and/or supplied materials. She charges more than your local dry cleaner does but it's worth it as the work is entirely on another level. Highly recommended. read more

Her work is decent (fine, not great) and she is very nice until she messes up and then refuses to fix her mistakes and becomes aggressive and rude. The first time, I let it go but the second time she was so rude and nasty that I could just not go back anymore. Good riddance. Now I go to Sew Rob. Service is great and she is so kind. I had a prom dress made from scratch in one week! I brought my idea on paper and the proper yards of the fabric I picked out. When I came back one week later to try it on it was exactly as I imagined it and only needed some slight alterations. I'm so happy with the final dress! My friend is getting married in a traditional Indian wedding and we were given material from India to make a Sari blouse. She gave us a picture of what she wanted the sari blouse to look like but no pattern to copy. I went to 10 different tailors with the material and the picture(including May's Tailor's right next door) and every shop I visited said they either could not do it or needed a pattern to make the sari blouse. When I went to "The Tailor Shop", they did not hesitate at all and were able to make me a BEAUTIFUL sari blouse in just 2 weeks using just the picture the bride provided me!! The owner even had some great suggestions to add a liner to the material to give the sari blouse more support/keep it from being see-through and she matched the color perfectly. She also thought to add a side zipper so I could get it on/off easier. I really appreciated the extra effort and thoughtfulness she put into making the sari blouse. The sari blouse is perfect and the Bride loved it too! I will definitely use "The Tailor Shop" again!! read more
