When I realized it was "real jewelry" I wanted to scream ! I'm not big on jewelry to begin with, but this lack of quality in this piece is appalling. I brought it to another jewelry who told us he shouldn't have spent more than $100 since the chain is actually silver plate and only the charm is sterling . The two jewels in the charm are not real . The necklace was $485 . I'm beyond furious, and was told no refunds only exchanges. Well I don't want anything from this store EVER. When a stone fell out of an antique ring, I went there to have the stone replaced and another antique ring resized. I was thrilled with the work! The price was so reasonable I was shocked really. I was very disappointed with the service and the product that I received at Hauser's. My girlfriend…read moreand I stopped in a number of times to look at engagement rings. They had a very small inventory of rings, but assured us that their specialty was custom work, and that they could do anything we wanted. So we went online and found some ideas that we liked and brought them in to discuss. It took several weeks to get them to come up with something. There was always an excuse: "We have a special function coming up" or "The girl who does that isn't in much" or "I'll be off next week." But eventually, we got a sketch of one of the designs that had interested us, and it was enough to move forward with. By that point, our timeline was a little compressed, but they assured us that they could make something happen. They quoted us $4,000 for the ring. We agreed, and paid them the portion for the diamond up front as they requested. When we got the CAD image back from them, there were large and important differences between what was in the sketch and what the CAD image looked like. So we asked them to fix the differences, which they assured us they would. They sent a second CAD image that was much closer to what we wanted than what they first gave us. When the ring arrived, it was not what we had agreed on. The ring lacked the gold features that we had asked for, and was pretty much the first CAD drawing that we had rejected. They tried to convince us that "It's a really beautiful ring", and "it's pretty close" to what we had agreed on, when it was clearly different. The side stones were a different shade than we had agreed to, and the bypass features that we had stressed were important were only visible if you viewed the ring from a low angle - almost under the ring. Even more insulting, when it was time to check out, they insisted that the diamond wasn't included in the price that they had quoted us for the ring, and that it would be an additional almost $1,000. It was the first time that they had said that the diamond wasn't included in the price of the ring that they quoted. I was fed up and told them that I wanted a full refund. They tried to charge me a "re-stocking charge", but ended up relenting. Diamond and engagement ring shopping doesn't have to be this painful. There are jewelers out there that have a good inventory so they can help you visualize in person what you would like. Who can play a meaningful role in helping you with the design process. Who can show you multiple different options for diamonds, side stones, and ring settings to help you make your decisions. Hauser's was unable to meaningfully do any of that for us. And who will not try and lock you in with buying the diamond first before you can see any design ideas for the ring. And then will not try and change the price in the endgame because they know that they've got you over a barrel. Go to one of them, and avoid Hauser's.

They have a separate room for when you're designing an engagement ring and picking out a diamond. Overall, it took about six weeks from start to finish, very satisfied with that timeline. We were very satisfied with the Jewel's input and expertise in thoughtful engagement ring design. The owner was also very lovely and assisted in the process. When we went to pick up the ring, we got to look under a microscope at the craftsmanship. And let me tell you if you were looking for a piece of jewelry with the upmost craftsmanship, I cannot recommend Hausers enough. My engagement ring has very small diamonds all the way around the gallery rail, and they are definitely secure and the craftsmanship is unbelievable. I wish I could zoom in on the picture more to emphasize how incredible the craftsmanship is, but I cannot. Will definitely return for future jewelry pieces.
