Pricey, small selection, and in a dreary mall.

Customer experience is everything and anything. It all starts and ends with customer experience and…read morenothing less, period! I oversee and mange a fitness store on High ridge road (Fitness Showrooms of Stamford) I was recently referred a client, Husband and wife both Marathon runners. They both visited my store this past week, and the very first thing I noticed when they stepped into the store was their fancy sneaks Hako One! I knew of Hawley lane shoes years ago when I managed a fitness store in bulls head plaza. So I took a drive to the shoe store. I literley can not find the words of how exceptional my customer experience was. The second I walked in i was enthusiastically greeted by lovely lady named Natalie, who respectfully introduced me to a gentleman named Scott. I have never in my life met such a passionate sales individual. I myself take pride in educating my clients, and providing them with as much knoweldge as possibly can, but when it came to Scott fitting me for Hako One, I was literely speaking to doctor! Scott strongly educated me on facts of a foot that I never ever knew mattered. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time of the shoe fitting, I was absolutely amazed by the knowledge and expertise I was being provided from Scott. My customer experience was beyond expected that I actually returned 3 times, because I had that many concerns and questions. Its because of Individuals like Scott, that can change a customers mindset of how the human foot truly functions. This was an incredible experience, thank you so much Scott and the friendly staff at Hawley Lane Shoes. You can easily sense when an individual speaks with passion of their profession. Scott you are truly amazing at what you do. Thank you so much

I was 2 weeks out of the return window since person was out of town and could not try them on; staff said they shoes were worn. They were not. It was very clear they were brand new. I have been shopping here for years; all new staff are very sullen and unprofessional. Very disappointing; they would not help been in any way even with a partial credit. I will not be shopping there again.

So terribly disappointed in this company. They present themselves as boutique and their locations…read moreare in affluent areas. But they don't treat their customers with the courtesy one would expect from a boutique in an upscale area. Target treats their customers with more respect. I bought a $400 dress that ripped after two wearings. It was a summer dress and didn't realize it was ripped until I pulled it out to wear in summer 2024. I brought in and they told me too bad, too late??? It was over a year. Suggested I call the company myself. This wasn't some cheap dress. I though incorrectly that they would stand behind their merchandise. I have spent at least $ 5,000 between their Rye and Mt Kisco stores and expected to be treated like a valued customer. Did I expect a 400 credit? No. But at least something to recognize the dress was and defective and acknowledge my business. Some kind of credit. I will never shop here again. Be warned.

Beyond personable, I felt like I knew these two lovely ladies forever. I was greeted with a smile immediately when my husband and I walked in the store. I tried on a super cute boot in a size that was a bit too tight. Maria instantly called another store and the boot was in Darien that afternoon. I couldn't ask for better service. Such a breath of fresh air as I did NOT have the same experiences in fellow stores. It's so easy to be nice and these women have it down. Just have to exercise self control and not spend so much money there! Will definitely pop in to say hello when in the neighborhood.

Darien sport shop seems to have survived the online revolution with help from, you guessed it Santa…read moreClaus. Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. Back to Santa, did I mention this guy is the real deal? He claims that he runs a bird seed shop in the off season, lol. Yea Kringle, I ain't buying it. Tell those elves at the North Pole that the socks you brought me in '94 were bull$#&!. Jk I'm a good boy I take it back.

Or they OVER buy on a trend from the 2000's....There's no variety. There's nothing that makes this place worth a visit. Most of the staff is just as uninspiring. They offer a halfhearted greeting when you walk in, but beyond that, they're completely disengaged--mostly standing around with their arms crossed, looking like they'd rather be anywhere else. Which makes sense because they barely make minimum wage, which is concerning considering how much the owner walks away with year after year. I probably wouldn't be inspired to help customers either. It's pretty obvious that the owner of this store couldn't care less about their employees--or their customers, for that matter. Unless you're looking for outdated clothes and indifferent service, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. Go shop at the family owned business Richard's in Greenwich much better selection, happy employees and OWNERS!

T This review is…read moredefinitely long over due. Everything in the store is very high quality and I had the single most positive customer service experience I've ever had! Shopping for shoes has always been hard for me. My feet run on the larger side and are very wide as well as one of them being half a size bigger than the other. Shari, the woman who helped me, was one of the most accommodating, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoyable people I have ever met. I usually don't look forward to shopping whatsoever let alone shoe shopping, and not only did I find shoes I loved Shari somehow made me EXCITED about the entire thing. I was planning to stop in for maybe 5 minutes, but somehow I was In the store for over 4 hours! Shari brought out not only shoes I had asked to see, but also styles and colors that were not on the floor that she thought I would like and that were actually in my size. She also heard I lived near snow and without me having to ask brought out brands that were water proof and all weather boots. I was astonished how enthusiastic she was about the whole process. I actually found shoes I loved which almost never happens. I never once felt pressured to buy anything and loved shopping so much I actually started to shop for clothes as well. She was also very knowledgeable about all the brands they carry. There was a coat I loved that I was sure was real fur and being a vegan I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Shari actually knew quite a bit about the brand and informed me they were a progressive faux fur company that were committed to making high quality products without the use of animals. She knew a lot about the owners of the company and their origins. I found a brand I love which wouldn't have happened without Shari being so knowledgeable about her products. If you have time I would stop into the store just to have Shari help you shop. I know she's moving from the Greenwich location to be the manager at the location in Mount Kisco. She's honestly wonderful and if I could bring her everywhere I shop I would!
