Our house is old and filled with surprises, and Jim was able to work through all the unexpected issue. Work includes laying a drainage pipe up to the road (and under the sidewalk), and cutting into our concrete floor to install both the sump pump and an extra drainage point. We've now been through several major rain storms, and instead of waking up in the morning to a garage full of water and hours of cleanup, I can just drink coffee and congratulate myself for calling Tectonic. The pump is plugged into a plug that records how often it goes on, and during some of those 4 inch rain storms it is going on frequently.

He buffed my original parquet floors and added flooring as I changed or added closets or cabinets. He's refinished a deeply stained floor that positively gleamed with no sign of the stains or scuffs upon completion. The most challenging project was a staircase (changing from shabby carpet to red oak) - making those wide turns meant piecing together several planks and making each tread fit exactly into a multi-angled space. It is truly a work of art. Every time I walk up or down the stairs I am grateful for his superb skills. He most recently installed a solid red oak kitchen floor. I highly recommend him.

He even helped me with a more permanent solution for my dining chairs and the felt bottoms. We took off the plastic moldings from which i would attach the felt round protectors but they would fall off and inevitably floors would get a light scratch. Today we put new felt toppers (after removal of the plastic) and used a panel (ribbed small) nail and nailed them into the chair felt. Great solution. He did a few touch ups on the floors too. A few months ago, he also immediately came over when we thought we had an issue that turned out to be a false alarm. He does great work.
