I took a dull kitchen knife and a pair of sewing scissors to the Longmont Farmer's market and had them sharpened by Johnson Sharpening. The scissors were OK, although there's a dead spot where they won't cut thread, but the knife was just awful. It had metal shaving dust on the blade, and there were small chips in the edge (this is after the sharpening). The knife wouldn't cut a ripe tomato cleanly and the angle was not consistent along the edge. I won't be using their services anymore. read more

DON'T let this place touch your knives. as a chef i know good knife sharpening. this place is crooked! I dropped them off at 8 am came back 3 hours later and he tells me they are ready. 45.00 later they were never touched. I unwrapped my knives to find them in the same condition as when I dropped them off. I called the owner to report this and he never even called me back. ignoring me and my business is unprofessional and ignorant way of doing business. read more

Jim got me in the same day I called. He was friendly and efficient. I had 2 pruning tools, 3 pairs of scissors and all my kitchen knives (around 9) sharpened. The difference in my knives is amazing. Nice guys.. and good at sharpening straight blades. Unfortunately I would not take a serrated blade there. They told me my kitchen knife was worn down a lot which it was not and basically just treated it like a straight blade and honed it down. Barely any serrations left. I would not use these guys again. read more
