I had a very bad experience at Americus Dental. When I went in for my appointment, I requested to…read morepay after the procedure. I was told this is not their policy. Supposedly they want your money upfront but cannot tell you what they'll be completing. They also have a sign that once services are rendered, you must pay them. When I mentioned that the receptionist stated. "Oh that's been up for years. That sign was here before we took ownership of this building. That doesn't apply". If i need a root canal they'll take your money to investigate but will send you elsewhere for the actual procedure. I refused to pay 1500.00 upfront and glad I decided to leave. I feel this is fraudulent. They also previously charged me for my X-rays which are preventative services. They blamed the insurance company for this however when I inquired, the dentist office coded it to their benefit. I was partially charged out of pocket for this procedure. If I indeed needed a root canal they'll would have seen it on the X-rays. I am very dissatisfied in what I thought would be a good experience.

They filed claims with my insurance company again and again over the course…read moreof 3 months and after 3 appointments and over $1100 dollars worth of work that I thought would be covered by insurance they finally decided to investigate why they were not being paid and found out that my insurance didn't work with their practice. I got a call that said you have to pay full price since we kept scheduling appointments with you instead of making sure the insurance would cover the work being done. The fillings I had all were poor quality and made my teeth extremely sensitive and when I went in for them to look at the issues caused by the fillings they told me I had sensitive teeth (telling me I had sensitive teeth cost $79) and they applied a protective coating for another $78 which came off before I made it home. Each estimate that I got was low and I had to pay more than expected and they seemed very confused about why these numbers were off and how the billing process works. Not very professional but at least they all had smiles on their face while I was getting scammed. At this point all I can do is share my experience with you and hope that you don't make the same mistake I did by choosing Americus Dental.
