After the first test, the assistant said it was pretty clear the tooth could not be saved and deferred running the second test, saving me more than $100. Dr. Simon confirmed the result and recommended I return to my general dentist for a tooth extraction rather than going through with a root canal in his office. They both could have run the second test, and I would've been none the wiser that it was unnecessary. Unfortunately, most of the Endodontics in Tallahassee don't take regular insurance like MetLife or Ameritas as a primary. I don't know if this was all agreed to by the practicing offices here in this city but it really does affect how patients are treated and where they can go to for their care.
