Tim has done a tremendous job for us. We have a fiberglass pool with an ozone cleaning system which was having problems. We could not find a company that could repair it including the company that installed it. He fixed it! We have since hired him to do a weekly maintenance in our pool and, honestly, it's never looked better. It's spotless and runs as smooth as a gravy sandwich! Liner replacement, convert to salt water, all new pumps and filter system and replace steps - Johnson Pools does not care about the customer once the job is done and they collect the money. I let the owner talk me into repair and put coating on steps rather than place but it is not holding up or poorly done. They were supposed to replace light if needed and obviously did not check it as they promised because now I'm having an issue with shock when stepping into the pool. Wendy in the office said I need a new light without anyone coming out to check it or even allowing me to speak with a technician. I asked if I was getting a new light once I received the estimate and was told they would check it when they were doing the work. Obviously that did not happen if I even need new light. The estimate also stated they would provide all start up chemicals but they did not. I had to add 5 bags of salt, calcium, and stabilizer within a couple days after fill. Those are all startup chemicals although the office staff said they're not. I used Johnson Pools in the past and recommended them to others but they have let me down and disappointed me. I no longer trust this company and the office staff is rude. read more

My pool turned out as beautiful as expected and more. The men who put it in were diligent and courteous. It was a very timely and well run job. . It fits in perfectly and beautifully even with the retaining wall. The wall added dimension and beauty. I did have trouble with communication with Dawn in the office. However changing to email rather than phone calls it worked like a charm. None of them do text. I would also advise that as the job moves along walk around and pick up the trash and papers to check for owners manuals. They were scattered everywhere and wet. But it is all online anyway. Of course the yard was totally wrecked but they made a nice blank slate for the start of my camellias garden when it was all over. I highly recommend Johnsons pool read more

Johnson has been servicing our pool for many, many years, with satisfactory results. Service was always prompt. However, after a misunderstanding with my husband , the tech who was cleaning our pool angrily took his equipment and left the job undone for that day/week. When I called the office to make sure our credit card on file wasn't charged for that month, I was informed that our account had been canceled!! This is absolutely insane for male ego to cause a years-long account, with guaranteed payments each month to be cancelled. I couldn't believe this poor business practice. Thanks But the silver lining is that we are now using Pinch-a-Penny pool service. They are doing such a good job, it makes me realize that we had been getting poor service all along! Contacted Johnson Pools October 6,2020 and Dan came out the next day. We agreed to have our pool liner replaced, add a pool heater and change over to saltwater system. The next week they were back and measured for the liner. At that time Dan said with the storm and COVID the work would be completed by Christmas. We paid 50% down and started waiting. Since that time I have not been able to get any answers as to when our work will be completed, I have left 3 messages for Dan with no return calls, I spoke with Dawn who was very rude and patronizing. Too date we still cannot get a straight answer as to when they will install. Today April 8, 2021 I fired them from my job by purchasing the liner, heater and salt system and will have someone else complete the job. It appears this company over commits, sits on your money for months and expects you to just accept no answers to your questions for months. Installation of the pool went reasonably well. The problem arose after a few weeks when the brick coping began to separate and several sections could be lifted off the pool. Dan sent a guy out to fix it. He tried to patch it which did not work. I ask him to send someone out to repair the coping that knew what they were doing. No one ever showed up. A large section of the deck also failed after about 6 months which was not warrantied. I would not recommend Johnson Pools. read more

Had an inspection completed on the pool at a home we were looking to purchase. The report indicated no issues at all and only listed the specs that could be written down off the name plate on the pool equipment. After that was done our whole home inspection found a faulty light and listed some maintenance issues with the pool equipment specifically that included pictures. Not worth the money we paid these people to show up. Beware. read more

I wish I would have gone with Johnson Pools in Pensacola to put in my pool instead of Gulf Coast Pools. It's not just putting a pool in, it's the service to the customer afterwards. These guys are great and they stay competitive in their pricing when and if you ever need parts replaced or something breaks down. Stay away from Gulf Coast. They'll take your $30k and then you'll never hear from them again unless something on your part comes up. When it does, they overcharge on everything. They aren't customer service oriented at all. Next investment property I buy to put in a pool, it won't be by Gulf Coast, it will be by Johnson, if they can squeeze me in because they are so busy & good. Please take note to those of you who get them to come out for a quote in order to do work but don't hear back from them right away because they really have their hands full. Props to an amazing company! Keep up the great consistent competitive work guys. You have the edge on all of the other companies here in PCola. read more

Liner looks good but having to add water every day to keep skimmer from sucking air and 2 bags of salt every week to keep chlorinator in the green. Was told is normal for pool to lose 1 to 2 inches of water a day. Old, faded, patched up liner didn't lose more than 1/2 an inch of water a day. Also, pool light stopped working after being disassembled and subsequently reassembled. JP sent a man out to tell us the light is bad (like we didn't already know) and billed us $89.00 for a diagnostic. Would not use their services again. Will have reputable company check for leaks and repair pool light. read more

I held off on this critique hoping Johnson Pools would make things right although have had enough of their empty reassurances. My project involved replacing the pool liner and skimmer assembly due to leaks (1 inch per day beyond normal evaporation). I do give them credit for being the most responsive to my request for a quote. In fact they were the only to respond thus I awarded them the job. The staff was pleasant and courteous during the process and the quote was delivered promptly. Once they received my first pay installment though, I feel things started going south. I was given an initial estimate of 4-6 weeks for the job. I did not want the pool to stagnate so kept topping it off while I waited. The work start day estimate quickly went to 6-8 weeks after which point I started asking for status updates approximately every 2 weeks. Johnson Pools reception's standard answer reply became "I have left a note on his (owner?) desk and he should respond shortly ". I did not want to let the pool completely go although keeping water and chemicals in a pool with a leak tends to get a little expensive. I do not recall ever getting a call back although the guys did show up approximately 12 weeks after I had signed and given the initial deposit. The guys showed up unannounced to get started although I was just happy to have progress. They replaced the skimmer in a day and started the liner approximately a couple days after that. Once the liner was replaced, I got a notice that the final payment was due although the workers had yet to refill the skimmer area with concrete. This is also around the time I noticed wrinkles on the side wall of the deep end. I asked that the skimmer job be completed and the wrinkles addressed before I paid in full although did pay once the worker poured the concrete, with the understanding that someone would come back to address the wrinkles on the deep end. That was around 12 June 2017. Here we are, middle of September, and I'm still trying to get resolution for the wrinkles in the new pool liner. Yes they did cash my final check very efficiently. I never did complain about the metal clips, small concrete chunks and (fiberglass?) rods just left behind in a grassy area after the liner was replaced which that could have been a problem had I mowed without looking first! The workers were courteous although I feel they should have done a better job cleaning up the perimeter once they were done with the installation. In all honesty, I would not recommend this company if anyone asks me. read more

I'd love to review Johnson Pools, but since they never showed up - after we called them 2 separate times....I guess when they told us they couldn't tell us a day they'd be there because they let each guy develop his own route, that should have been hint enough they had no intention of ever stopping by. It's a shame too. Our pool is a hot mess and we can pay cash. They could have made a lot of money helping us out. But I guess they don't need our business. read more

My only issue is that for a small " mom & pop shop" feel of quality customer service (which I love & is harder & harder to find) I was initially thrilled with setting up service for my elderly mother while I lived in California. So apparently my elderly mother missed a payment, I basically get a less than warm email on the matter, no money no service , and we were cut off. I responded I had no idea what happened & sent the check in the mail that day. They didn't call or check to see if it was an problem at the home, just rude no money no service attitude vs trying to care about a customer. Once I called home, found out she had an emergency happen and at a medical facility .... Apparently the communication chain was broken and the facility failed to call me in a quickly manor. So long story short totally expected this small town company to handle a small misses payment differently for a dependable paying customer for over a year, they could have tried to call me or my mom anytime but rather just send an off pudding email and cut us off so quickly. So canceled service & most likely will not be going back. read more
