I called and spoke with the Greg over the phone. He was very aggravated and aggressive as soon as he picked up the phone. I was told I had to wait. for a call back after being spoken to so rudely for someone to see if someone that can tow my vehicle. They definitely are unprofessional and clearly do not have available trucks when there's an emergency. I recommend anyone else. read more

Car was impounded, I was told 180 for over night 230 for under 48 hrs. Police told me to show up with a unexpired tag. Went and collected my dealer plates and immediately returned. When I showed up they told me dealer plates were unacceptable, and they would need to keep it until I furnished proper tags. I did exactly that. However... I was charged a lot more than the agreed price. I asked for a receipt and and invoice and policies related to my charges for a better understanding, I was refused. I signed with Pratt's, but someway somehow my contract and signature were applied to this company. When I asked how or for an explanation; for paperwork purposes. Pratts is for civilian customers, John's for government/police customers as they have different rates and charges. Also note significant damages to my vehicle; they rolled the windows down and left them down allowing rain to come through the vehicle, leaving me with water damage and electrical issues, my vehicle had good tires and was recently in for an alignment, two of my tires are not what I had; when asked about the tires and damages; they said it wasn't them ::ok shaggy:: So be warned, unfair rates and charges and refusal of proper documentation and invoices. Paying 3x the original agreement is outrageous! Keeping my car overnight and transferring my signatures without my permission is highly suspicious. NOT TO MENTION STOLEN ITEMS FROM MY VEHICLE DEFINITELY GOT THE POLICE INVOLVED! read more

Knowing that there was a huge traffic backup on I-295 S on the Buckman Bridge, I was expecting a 2-3 hour response wait. Probably the worst service that I have ever encountered. Over the course of several hours, the dispatcher continued lying to me about the pickup time as I was stranded on the side of the 95. We were in the area from texas and broke town on i95. Johns towing was a huge blessing to us and took care of us. There was an issue with the billing but these folks were so upfront and honest about it and got me taken care of including a refund. Can get any better than that. The honesty was awesome to see in this day and age. Don't get that all the time. Highly recommend these folks just for their honestly alone. They were very timely and got us off the road. Worst experience ever! I highly recommend anyone to stay away n never deal with these people! Nasty to customers just trying to get an explanation of why they double charged me n it did not matter they tell u very nasty pay $850 or get out! I would give no stars to them. I asked for a mngr n was told he was out of country on vacation. Ofcourse he is double charging! Vehicle was towed 2 miles pick up same day a few hours later actually, chg was $850 n he sd he was putting a daily chg on it too!! I have a 2020 Wrangler Jeep which began sending dashboard messages and would not start. I was advised by dealer to have the jeep towed in. John's Towing arrived, looked at the problem and told me it did not need a tow just a jump and a charge which he did for me (he was off duty when he received the call) . We needed an RV towed and this isn't something everyone can do. They showed up in a timely manner (we had a little wait but that is to be expected) and got us to where we needed to be. Hopefully we won't need their service again but we will recommend them to people who do. read more

Called for a tow, was told 45 mins to an hour. An hour and 15 mins later I called back. Was told they only had one driver and he was clearing and accident on 95 and it would be at least another hour or more. The office should have called to let me know what was going on...come on guys. Terrible towing service through AAA. Setup for tow at 3:30pm with AAA ETA of 7:30pm. AAA said they would call when on their way so I wouldn't have to wait. The tow truck driver shows up at 6pm then calls me. I told him I was 20 mins away, he said he would wait. I get there and he's not there. After trying to call the driver 6 times I left a message. He ignored them. I texted and he replied "call AAA." I called AAA and after they called the towing company they said it would be 11pm. The tow truck driver didn't call me ahead of arriving, wasn't there when I arrived, didn't call to say he had to leave and made me track him down and his response is "I'm a driver. I go where the logistics dispatcher tells me to go I have 0 control over who I'm servicing or who I'm towing. That is on AAA end." Nope! It's your fault for not calling ahead as you were instructed to do. read more

I was on my way back to Charlotte from South Florida to visit a very good friend who is very ill. My tire blew out just before the 1-95/St. Augustine exit, so I pulled into the Marathon gas station to get air. Futile. The ire was too far gone. I am physically unable to change the tire, so I called AAA, who told me that John's would be there within 1 hour of that time (7:15 PM). I called AAA back at 8:20 PM to learn that they pushed my appointment back to 8:40 PM. At 8:48, the truck pulled up, passed me, and circled the parking lot before locating me. The driver, Mike came out of the truck looking exhausted, and inconvenienced. He proceeded check my ID, then go into the truck box to get the jack to change the tire. He took one pull on the lug wrench then immediately started cursing about how this just wasn't gonna work. He then took another 2 hand tries, and one stand-on-the-wrench attempt, then gave up. Basically telling me I was screwed. I told him where I wanted the vehicle towed, and where I booked a hotel, and he said that another truck would be by to try to change the wheel. Three times, this was the suggestion he proposed versus just getting me and the car where I needed to go. Apparently, that would have been too inconvenient for his Sunday night plans. Shortly afterwards - maybe 25 minutes, or so, another driver, Roger came. he too was unable to use my wrench to remove the lugs, but his attitude and demeanor was cool. understanding, and pleasant. I ended up where I need to get for the night and had the tire repaired in the morning. It is ONLY because of Roger that I chose to write this; There could not be a better example of great customer service versus terrible service. John's would be wise to fire Mike; He is a poor ambassador for your company. Roger, on the other hand should be your spokesperson. read more

AAA sent them to me at mile marker 303 on I-95 & the original plan was to tow me back to Lakeland but the tow driver said it was a fast, easy fix (alternator) & the driver called ahead to see that they had the part, however they did not have the part, did not tell me this & 1 1/2 hr later part arrived but was the wrong part & it would be another 2 hours to get the correct one & then another hour+ to install. I was coming back from the Mayo Clinic having had a treatment the day prior & was sick. I insisted on getting towed to Lakeland (that took almost another hour to complete). When I finally arrived in Lakeland it took my mechanic less than 15 min to do the job! I have filed a complaint with AAA about this fiasco! read more
