To quote someone else here who left a review, "Excellent old school service by top mechanics." I've built cars on and off for 20 years and have come across all types of shops and vendors. A trustworthy shop, insanely quality work, experienced technicians, clear easy to read invoices, transparency, friendly people, and a team who get's the vehicle 100% done and doesn't fall off at the last lap is so hard to find under one roof and yet these attributes all exist at John's Service Center. I was referred to them a few months ago and they are now my go to shop and I've thrown their name to many other people. I've had them work on my 64' Rambler, 55' Ford F100, and a newer Expedition. They have exceeded my expectations every time. I've spoke to both Steve and Eric when going there and they're always super friendly and knowledgeable. I forgot to mention above but unlike a lot of shops that promise you the world, under deliver, over charge, and miss deadlines. You won't encounter this here! Amazing shop and great team! read more

Erik helped me out big time!! My transmission went out in my 2014 Dodge Journey, and within a week, he had the car running like it was brand-new! Additionally, they didn't charge me an arm and a leg for what's usually an expensive job - they gave me an extremely fair price. Friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. I would get this place in 10 stars ,if I could. I had to get my husbands 2011 jaguar fixed . It hadn't run in a few years. And needed some body work Eric and the crew made it looking and driving like it was brand new. They evendid the smog check.So honest and reasonable. Johns service center is one of the last great auto shops around. Great service, great people and most importantly a great owner. Steve (owner) is always kind, courteous and funny, problem solving is fast and efficient but most importantly fair when pricing out those fixes. He also has tons of jokes. Erik (manager) is a charm, always helping out whenever needed and giving amazing service. My wife was a customer at John's before we got married, and together we've been taking our cars here for over 25 years -- so enough said right there! Having one's car repaired isn't a fun experience, but Steve (the owner of John's) makes it a pleasant one and you know things will be right when they're done. Prices are definitely fair, not cheap, and, face it, in the end you get what you pay for; having peace of mind on the road after you pick up your car is well worth it. We've had times when they found one or two other little things to be done and they just took care of them for us at no charge. For example, last time my car was in they polished my cloudy headlight lenses for me. More recently, my wife scraped the fender on her car pulling out of the garage and later that day the engine started misfiring. She didn't have a good day! Took the car to John's, where they replaced the coils and plugs (it was due for new plugs anyway), and they took the time to polish off the stucco scrapes so her car would look a little better until we get that mishap fixed! That's the kind of place this is. read more

"A good mechanic is hard to find!" Everyone who talks about getting their vehicle serviced says the same ol' crap! I've been going to John's for a couple years now and I will never take any piece of my fleet anywhere else. The garage is clean and organized which I think is tough to do when working on vehicles. I've always dealt with Steve (owner) and he makes an extra effort to make me feel good about leaving the care of my truck in his hands. I'm not sure about price because I've never had the same problem twice, when he fixes it, it's fixed! But I do know that when I get my total, I'm happy with it! Will I again?..... Don't normally write reviews but....very disappointing. Last year I took my jeep to John's service centre and they failed to correctly diagnose brake fault and said i needed to replace a non faulty part. Today they made an unsafe repair to my steering box saying, as it was an old car and of uncertain age / origin the correct part was not available. So they bodged my old worn out part in an unsafe way. I spent 15 minutes at parts store and found right part and fitted it myself. Their solution was unsafe (and didn't work as they put it back together the wrong way). Erik (supervisor) got the mechanics wrong on both visits and Steve the manager was flippant, dismissive and rude AND KNOWS HOW TO CHARGE! AVOID (I am an automotive engineer, these guys are not). read more

Steve is a superstar. I didn't think guys like him existed anymore. Totally professional, quick problem solver, doesn't overcharge and fixes things above and beyond. A real pleasure. My RV broke a few blocks from their shop, he sent one of his guys over to get it to the shop without a tow truck, and got it back to us within hours. I always leave with a smile on my face because Steve just can't help being a comedian--and he really is funny. I've been to this place before multiple times with my old car, so I called here today for an estimate on a brake job for the rear brakes for a 335i, 2007. I was surprised to hear that they wanted almost $400 just to do the rear brakes. They said $80 per brake pad, $80 per rotor, plus labor. It's the highest amount I've been quoted in about the six places I've called or been to before. Definitely won't be using them for brakes! read more

This place was recommended by a friend and another shop. They were right on. Honest, courteous, and timely. They are a community feel shop and they deliver. My car needed breaks and they replaced them for me. I provided the parts but parts were defective. They replaced defective parts at no added charge. I'm not saying they'll do that for you but they did it for me. So I highly recommend them. read more

We have been loyal customers of John's for three years. Their customer service is impeccable, and their rates are fair and reasonable. My car wouldn't start today (battery) and my husband was out of town. In a panic, I called Johns. Steve sent two men over to get my car for me and had it repaired by 5 pm. They had also taken my car through the car wash as a bonus. If you want fantastic small town service in this big city, I recommend John's hands down! read more

Something has gone terribly wrong with this place. I have been a customer for several years. But it seems like John's Service Center has become another one of those shyster ripoffs. First, the cost went sky high. They charged nearly $2000 for two strut replacements. Second, my car was worse after I picked it up. It leaked fluid and squeaked badly. Third, my squeegie went missing that was inside the car. They eventually fixed the leaky struts. But they quoted an estimate and later charged $200 more at check-out. When I went back to the owner to complain, all he said was that he would look for the squeegie and never called me back. The other reviews here mentioned Casey. Well he's gone I found out. I don't know the circumstances but it does not bode well for this place. John's Service Center has gone way down hill and it's time to move on to look for another mechanic. read more

We have had super luck taking our car to John's. We had a quote from the local dealership that service our make of car!!! A huge bill would have been coming to us. We took it to John's instead and he saved us $4.000!!!! Won't go any where else! They are the best. read more
