They usually don't disappoint with the size of the crab, and the flavor of the crab used to be on point. They have been in Mechanicsville for years. The last couple of times I visited left me questioning my loyalty. I have been trying a couple of places in the area, and maybe I'm particular about crab and how it's prepared. When I buy anything, regardless of what it is, customer service can ruin the experience. I purchased crabs from here a couple of weeks ago and the lady at the register refused to put the crab seasoning on the crabs (I thought that was the idea). I hate a bland crab! I have tried Crab's, crab boils, sauteed crabs, steamed crabs etc... Yes size does matter, but not if they are bland. During the second visit, I was happy the owner was present ( he's nicer). He tried to accommodate me, however I requested female crabs (my preference) and when I arrived home I had male Crab's. Yes ! They were nice and meaty, but tasted like rubber. I was so disappointed, and upset, but at this point I was over it. It's a shame because I had been hankering some Crab's and 3 day's later, I still have the Crabs. I tried to doctor them up but, no bueno! I have purchased Crab's from places I didn't expect to like, and they were better than Captain Greg's! I don't think I will be returning, but I guess I'm particular.

She picked them up the next day after confirming that they were getting a shipment around 2:30 pm and had to wait while they were being cooked and seasoned. She ordered 24 crabs ($45ish a dozen) and a LB of shrimp. I got my backyard table set up for the fun part of cracking and butter dipping - with some beverages haha. The crabs were HUGGGGEEEEEE. They could cut back on the seasoning because it was salty enough, my friend said that she got it mild and it def had a nice kick to it! There was sooooo much crab meat when we finished filling our bellies and just cracking them to put the meat into a container to save for later. They had a pretty good deal and I am so glad my friend suggested this. The only part that I felt bad about was that my friend went to go pick it up (around 2ish) and did not get to my house until close to 3:30ish after order, waiting for them to cook it, and then driving it to my house. I owe her big! Oh and the shrimp were amazing! Very plump and juicy!

Due to COVID, the place had tables and chairs for inside dining, but they were stacked to the side and they only offered pickup orders. We ordered the fish and shrimp platter, which came with fries or coleslaw. We got the fries. We were a few minutes short of the lunch special, where you could get the the same thing, for 3 dollars cheaper (we paid 9 and some change), but with smaller portions. The kitchen is located near the front register and you can watch while your food is being prepared. The menu is, of course, heavy with seafood options in addition to steamed crabs and crabmeat for sale. The fish was thin and fried perfect and crispy. The shrimp as well. Fries were golden and good as well. All in all, a good place to grab a quick bite of seafood when in the area.

I am kind and generous in my critique and try to maintain a professional decorum. With that said, I ordered four pieces of Whiting, sweet potato fries, green beans, and three chicken thighs. All of it was garbage!!! I expected four normal-sized pieces of fish, but instead, I received cut-bite-sized fish. The grease that was used to fry this fish was not fresh. My chicken thighs looked and tasted like they had been cooked some days ago. I received approximately 11 fries, and the green beans came straight out of the can with no seasoning. I understand that we live in trying times, but this is ridiculous. Usually, I would give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but I can honestly say this is a one-and-done for me.

Not the best area but the food is INCREDIBLE. From the Nashville sliders to the shrimp Po boy and the fish. It was all so good. The service was fast even though they were super busy. It also looks like they get a lot of to go orders. I started off with the fish and shrimp platter. I'm not sure what that's called but the fish was fresh, fried to perfection. Shrimp was also really good, pairs well with tar tar sauce. The shrimp Po boy was my favorite. The sauce on it was SO GOOD, the bread was incredibly fresh. 20/10 for the Po boy. The manage habanero shrimp was super spicy but so good. The fried oysters was a unique menu item. Good as well. The sliders, we customized and got one hot honey and one Nashville hot. Both delicious. Also come with fries and I love a good fry. The wacky whiting sandwich was a fun and delicious item as well. Perfect for fish lovers that are looking for something more. The loaded Mac and cheese was so good as well. Lastly we had the funnel fries and it was a unique touch and was so good! The decor is cute but I don't love that it's attached to the gas station. Overall, the food was extremely good and definitely recommend if you are in the area.
