We were there from about 6 until after 9 to watch the fantastic Leaf - Bruins game without any rush to turnover our table. We split a cauliflower appy and a soulvlakirice bowl, both servicable. We got a cup tzaziki at no extra cost on the side. Overall, the food was servicable but would probably not order the cauli app as a bit pricey for the value. A throwback to community oriented pubs, a fun vibe with friendly service and a fantastic spot ti watch the Leafs and football. Definately will be back! -Zuk

Attention: Shoeless Joe's Manager/Owner, I am writing to…read moreexpress my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the unacceptable treatment we received during our recent interaction with one of your staff. On Sunday April 6, 2025 Lunch time. This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience we have ever had!!!! We came to your establishment to celebrate two Birthdays, but the day was ruined with this whole experience. Your staff was not only rude and unprofessional, but also raised their voice at us in an aggressive and completely unnecessary manner. What is even more disturbing is how they treated our friend with special needs -- with complete disregard, disrespect, and a total lack of compassion and human decency. Shame on you!! Not only were we yelled at loudly for no valid reason, but we also overheard your employee talking badly about us to other customers at the bar. This was not only unprofessional--it was humiliating and entirely inappropriate. She stated that the customers at the bar were her regulars and were all on her side. When we confronted her about this, she got very combative. This kind of behavior is disgraceful and inexcusable. No customer should ever be made to feel humiliated or mistreated, and especially not someone with special needs. I expected much better from your company and am shocked that such conduct is tolerated. Shame on you. She also kept repeating she was the only staff working and that we only cared about ourselves, that we were selfish. She also stated that it was not her problem that our friend had Special Needs. I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed immediately. I would appreciate a prompt response explaining how this will be dealt with and what steps are being taken to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. Hope to hear from management /Owner ASAP Sunday April 6, 2025 - Lunch Time - 12:00 pm Shoeless Joe's Sports Grill - 3200 Dufferin Street North York

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Bring cash though, unless you're looking to make some big orders, because credit card is a minimum fifty-dollar spend.

Their drink menu is impressively broad, with a strong whisky selection from different regions, plus plenty of cocktails, spirits, and wine. I especially loved the Scotchman in Sidecar, which blends Té Bheag and Laphroaig with Cointreau and lemon. It had this really interesting balance of smoky peat and bright citrus. Naked and Famous was also great if you like something a little sharper and more refreshing, while the Mango Mojito leaned sweeter and easier to sip. The food was just as enjoyable. The Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas were probably my favorite part of the meal, with a chewy crust and really satisfying flavor. The Savory Peach from the summer specials was surprisingly good, especially with the spicy sauce on the side, and the Spicy Ropressata was another standout if you like something a little salty and bold. We also tried the Shepherd's Pie, which was warm, hearty, and comforting, and the oysters were fresh and good quality too. Overall, it feels like one of those cozy places that works equally well for drinks, a casual date night, or a laid-back evening with friends.

Service was friendly and easygoing, not rushed at all, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, it's the kind of spot I'd come back to without overthinking it -- whether for a casual meal or just to unwind a bit.

It's on the second floor of an old warehouse building with large windows where you can sit at tables and gaze out over the street and the park. Fantastic idea! The interior design is well thought out, and there is plenty of room for dancing as well as hanging out at the back in the attached room facing the street. The bar is long and plenty of room to find a spot to order there. The DJ booth is interesting as it is set in kind of a window at ground level, with an attached room behind the decks where the performers can sit and hang out. The sound system is incredible at Standard Time! Custom built speakers are both at the front by the DJ booth AND at the back facing the booth. Of course most people were up near the booth, with few at the back even though the sound was good at both spots. I found the sound simply ethereal at the back, probably because of less people in the way and less chatter from people too. Facing the speakers, and facing away from the booth at the back gave a nice stereo image of the sound so that's where I was for quite awhile when enjoying the music on my visit. Highly recommended!
