I was always impressed with how often this store ran donation drives for charity and I always…read moredonate when I can. I feel kind of bad when the cashier ask for a donation and I have to say no. I mentioned this to an employee that was helping me find some items a few days ago and they told me not to feel bad because the cashiers have no choice and have to ask every single person. I asked why and they said they are being threaten with write ups if they are caught not asking for donations. Well that's a ridiculous thing to threaten people job over, so I ask why would the company hang a punishment over their heads for this. They then told me the company makes a lot of money of this "donations" aside from the tax break they get, they pocket some of it as well. They said most of the times the stores start collecting donations from customers, the company already made the donation long ago for the tax break. So everything they are collecting from customers is going directly into their pockets to recoup the loses from the "donation" plus the tax break they get so it's all profit. Sometimes when they collect a lot of money from people, they put it all in a separate account, sit on it for a year, then donate the money and pocket the interest it accumulated in that year. This was very disappointing to hear. I will not be giving Albertsons anymore extra money and will be donating to charities personally from now on. Shame on you Albertsons.

Service was also great. The lady at the cashier was super welcoming and friendly as well as the guy stocking the shelves who was very helpful recommending different products. La Cocina (The Kitchen) and La Panaderia (The Bakery) were both closed at the time. I'll have to return to try their freshly made savory foods and sweet baked goods. My husband bought chorizo from Freddy's produce & meat market yesterday. Today that I opened the…read morebag I looked to make sure the chorizo was good (because I've bought bad chorizo before and have returned it once before) I saw it was bad. I went to return it about 10 minutes ago and the guy was extremely rude. I was letting him know this wasn't the first time it's happened that the chorizo is bad. So he tells me then don't buy from us anymore. Then proceeded to weight the chorizo and say's there's some missing so I'm only giving you the balance of what you brought. I tell what do you mean I just opened it before coming here!? He says there's a piece missing the weight doesn't match so I'm only refunding you what's there. So I repeated myself I didn't take a piece I just opened it. That just means you guys stole from me. It only took me to say that for him to give me the full refund. But make sure to check their scale at the register to make sure it matches. They've charged me $23 before for astrand of chorizo before and I didn't think anything of it until today when the one strand was only $13.42 this time and it still didn't match their sticker. I know I'm no one and they don't care they lost me as a customer. Because he made it clear with his then don't buy from us comment, but just beware and make sure what's on the label matches the scale upfront. Not saying they're stealing but maybe they need to calibrate their scales or something.

Can you believe that. For a fast question. Then in the lines wow where do you start? the employees actually look so unhappy like they hate everything about there job. What needs to happen is for a secret shopper to go into that vons! or even better the regional manager for vons. Plus the cost of the products i wouldn't mind spending more for service.
