It was 8:30 am and even though I sent a picture he said he would be over by 11 am to make sure it's priced correctly and he can determine much more accurately the number of guys to send. He got here at 10:45 and in 5 min gave me an excellent quote and said 2 guys would do the job in 2.5 hrs. We set a date 4 days later at 8 am. The two guys arrived at 7:50 am. We went to the tree and discussed what I wanted done. I offered to help but they said they had it handled and they would come get me when done. They came to my front door when done and took me around back to check it out and make sure I was pleased. They were polite and professional. They had all the proper tools needed to do the job. They hauled away all the trimmings. They not only raked the gravel but blew off that entire side of the yard. They also managed the entire job without damaging any of the 5 large prickly pear cactus, 2 birds of paradise, and 1 mini palm tree that are all within 1-5 feet from this tree. It's a family run business, his crews are covered by his insurance while on your property. One hour after they left, Billy V (owner) called to follow up to make sure I was satisfied and to answer any concerns I may have. He also thanked me for the business. Multiple mature, full, flowering shrubs were cut down into stiff, unnatural box-like shapes with most of the blooms removed. The entire look of my yard was drastically changed in a single visit. This is not professional landscaping - it's careless and shows a lack of basic pruning knowledge. When I contacted the owner about it, my concerns were dismissed and he hung up on me. I came across Sebastian Montejo Landscape Management when I asked Yelp to give me quotes. I posted…read morepictures of the weed situation on my request. I don't have any control over who Yelp sends my quote request to. I just see in the messages if they responded, that's how I know who my request got sent to. Well Sebastian at Montejo Landscaping answered right away and said he would go out to my property on a certain day and give me an estimate. How do they get new business? Just showing up at my property for just the estimate is above and beyond what most landscapers or business people do because they have to take time away from a paying job and pay for the gas and time to go to a job that doesn't pay money and in all likelihood may not ever result in money. But Sebastian showed up and maybe a couple of other landscapers and Sebastian gave the least expensive price which was to trim five palm trees and clean up the weeds front and back. I don't have a regular landscaper so the weeds were really overgrown. I was leaving to go to California and three landscapers made appointments one of them three different times and he didn't show up for any appointment. So the by the time Sebastian got there I already left to go live in California to show up for a court heating date and stay for the summer. So Sebastian gave me a date where he could do the job and he showed up on that date and time. He took pictures of his cleanup and that the palm trees were trimmed and I paid him through Zelle away. What I like about Sebastian was he was reliable and he showed up when he said he would show up on time. So the next job was my grass was all brown and dead when he got there. He discovered that the irrigation was not working in three valves didn't work. He quoted me $450 to do the repairs which I already paid sprinkler doctors $135 2 weeks before for repairs But sprinkler doctors could not come back out for another 3 weeks and the water was running continuously and had to be shut off at the main valve which means my irrigation everywhere in the back would not be working for three weeks. Sebastian was pretty busy too but he squeezed me in for a Monday a few days later and he did show up and he made the repair and sent me pictures showing me that the water was spraying the lawns now. I wasn't there, again, and I just trusted him and I paid him the $450 through Zelle. Previously I had another landscaper TFH Landscaping with excellent 4.5 star Yelp reviews. I had Isaiahs come over and clean up weeds maybe three times but the last time his worker hacked and broke with a shovel my irrigation line but I didn't find out till later when the planter box was all flooded like a lake and overflowing like a river to the street. When I told Isaiah's TFH Landscaping that his worker broke the sprinkler line, ISAIAHs said he would send the worker over to do the repair in a couple days and the worker never showed up. When I called him to say the worker never showed up he said he would come in a couple days and he personally will come and be there. Well he never showed up. What's worse is he used to answer the phone on the first ring and was "always there for me" and even said "I am always here for you and I answer the phone". But after he didn't show up two times he wasn't answering the phone anymore .... ever. So you think I'm going to do business with him if he doesn't even answer the phone ever? Someone told me "because they don't get paid to repair their mistakes and have to take time out from already paying jobs to go to a job that doesn't pay. So far I am good with Sebastian. I would say he earns every one of his five-star reviews.
